|Minimum Stay||3 - 5 nights|
On the picturesque canalside known as ‘Fondamenta Soranzo’, where gondola oars and ‘forcolas’ are still crafted by hand, and close to the one-time home of well known American poet Ezra Pound, sits Ca’ Della Fornace - a cosy and very comfortable two bedroom apartment on the third floor with views onto the romantic ‘Rio Delle Fornace’ canal and a part of the awe-inspiring ‘cupola’ of the Church of Santa Maria Della Salute, one of the most cherished icons of the city.
Bright, peaceful and very charmingly decorated with a distinct aura of class and sophistication plus a mere stone’s throw from the artistic delights of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Punta Della Dogana Center of Contemporary Art, Ca’ Della Fornace comprises an elegant living/dining area (featuring amidst its nicely-matched furnishings a portrait of Ezra Pound and another of Peggy herself), a fully fitted kitchen/breakfast area, two double bedrooms, a small room with a single sofa/bed (more suitable for a child) and a bathroom with shower.
The air conditioning in the master bedroom and in the bed room with twin beds allow for comfortable relaxation during the warmer months, while the ability to keep in touch and plan your days' activities via the apartment's wireless internet connection proves a real plus.
Well-designed and perfectly placed for exploring Dorsoduro, the apartment is also just around the corner from the ‘Traghetto’ at Calle Lanza which, during operating hours, ferries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to ‘Campo Del Traghetto’ (next to the Gritti Palace Hotel) allowing you to discover the many sights and sounds of the district of San Marco and beyond.
We are a family of 5 that recently visited Venice and stayed at Ca' Della Fornace. We loved this apartment! Clean, comfortable, and quiet. Great location for us right on the canal in the Dorsoduro district. We walked everywhere. There is a market on the main promenade about a 15 minute walk.
We enjoyed our stay. The apartment is well laid out and comfortable for our family of five. It is on a small canal off the Grand Canal and close to Guggenheim Museum. I would stay here again.
Venice - Ca' Della Fornace apartment
A great place to stay and an absolute perfect location for a Venice vacation. We stayed a week in June 2016 (2 adults and our 9-year-old son.)
We had great communications with the team at Views of Venice from the start. All of our questions during the process of booking were answered thoroughly and promptly. We had a personal and warm welcome upon arrival.
It took very little time to feel at home in the apartment. We loved the third floor canal views and the domes of Salute from the twin bedroom and living room. The roof tops and tree views in back from the master bedroom was also very nice. We did not mind the stairs. The kitchen was small but well provisioned and the bathroom clean and modern.
We were minutes away from the vaporetto and traghetto stops. It was magical every day to step out of our apartment just because of the great location. There are artist studios and galleries, a wood carver’s shop who works on the specialized gondola oars and holders, a grocery store, cafes and bars and restaurants that are so easy to walk to. The apartment location is very quiet at night. We fell in love with Dorsoduro district; it feels very Venetian and not overtaken by tourists and tourist locals.
It is a perfect place to stay and start to enjoy Venice. We were never more than 20 min from major attractions either by walking or taking vaporettos.
In short the listing description is 100% correct and we were 200% satisfied with the apartment, its location, and with the Views Of Venice rental company.
We are dying to go back and would stay without any hesitation in the Ca' Della Fornace apartment! And we have highly recommend it to our friends too!
Everything was perfect during our stay. Clean, shiny and arranged to make a whole living. As stated in the ad
Well organised and gracious accommodation.
The property was very well described. Location was excellent, we could see the domes of Santa Maria della Salute from the living room and a lovely canal. In fact, those were the reasons why we chose the property. It was clean and well maintained. The staff of Views on Venice provided a very good customer service and helped us with all our requests. I would definitely recommend this property to everybody.
Even before we arrived in Venice we were treated as valued clients. The information shared and it's timely delivery was invaluable to us. We were travelling with our family and the team at Views on Venice kept our stress levels low.
We were greeted by Francesco who gave us a great orientation to the apartment. The apartment was wonderful and was in a fantastic location. On a canal (a must in Venice), near to lots of major sights, a supermarket and vaporettos. What's more the living room window had a picture perfect view of Santa Maria Della Salute!
We had a queen bed for us, 2 singles and another single for a family of 5 (2 parents & 3 adult kids).
The only draw back when staying for 6 nights was that there was no washing machine.
We can recommend this apartment to couples, groups and families. Thanks for a great stay.
Located right by the Salute Church and at one vaporetto stop to San Marco.
