Photos and Description of this Brugge holiday house

3 bedrooms (sleeps 4 - 6); 2 Bathrooms

Holiday Rental Home 'Lady Lace' is a beautiful 17th Century house located in the heart of Bruges. The house is built in 1672. It is a three-level house with a total of 110 square meters living area. The facade is built in the traditional step-gable style that is typical of the finest Flemish houses. Located in the peaceful residential area of St.-Jacob quarter, about five minutes' walk to Market square and the Belfry Tower. It is completely furnished and equipped for your comfort. The interior, with original oak beams, doors and woorden floor, is very cosy. The kitchen includes a full complement of cooking utensils and cutlery. Large, comfortable beds ensure a relaxing and enjoyable visit.

The name 'Lady Lace' has been elected for the lace makings manufactured by the owner herself in reference to Bruges.

You will love this relaxing resort and immediately feel at home.

A 'House Book' in the house contains much information on local shops, restaurants, history and views.

“We wish you a pleasant stay in a magnificent Bruges!”

Wonderful home in Bruges!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Lady Lace home in Bruges could not have been more enjoyable! The home is beautiful and very well maintained, preserving the historic charm of the 17th century property. It is centrally located with easy access to the city center, shops, and restaurants. Francis was an excellent host and welcomed us with delicious chocolates and Belgian beer. He also helped us with nearby free parking, which was a huge help considering parking in Bruges can be a challenge. We will definitely return on any future trips to Bruges!

Charming, comfortable, characterful!

  • 4 of 5

For our fourth visit to Bruges we tried 'Lady Lace', a pleasant medieval property close to the Markt. Francis was as always the perfect host, showing us around on our arrival and helping us with car parking (always very important in Bruges...) We sampled the usual delights that the city has to offer, including a marvellous river tour with one of the best guides we've encountered - look for the captain with the beard! The 'Historium' exhibition was a great diversion on one of the wet days, also the Bourgogne des Flandres brewery, plus of course the Halve Maan.

Great restaurants abound, the waiters all speak perfect English and shopping is a must in this city. Look for artisanal chocolate makers if you can, as most chocolate sold in the city is actually made in Brussels. Not a bad thing in itself, but sometimes the real thing is what you want to find. And of course the beer! It's cheaper than water, so it is no surprise that everyone drinks the wonderful brews on offer. We were told that Belgium has 1600 different beers, but to be honest we just lost count...just don't ask for a Stella Artois; sorry guys, but there are so many more individual and special brews on offer.

Will we be back? But of course!! Maybe not next year, but Bruges is one of those places that just keeps drawing you back time and time again. Tot ziens!!

Perfect location. Charming hosts.

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a comfortable and roomy place to stay that is centrally located in the historic part of Bruges, then this is your spot. Lady Lace is a beautiful home that is a short walk away from the central square in Bruges. Our hosts were extremely helpful in giving us ideas of what to see and do and there is a house book that describes the rich history of the city along with information on the sights nearby.

The space was very clean and roomy. We enjoyed the fact there was a washer and dryer in the house so we could catch up on laundry during the middle of our trip.

As far as food is concerned there are a couple of markets that are a very short walk away if you would like to have food in the house or there are also some great restaurants nearby. Lady Lace is a must if you are needing accommodations in Bruges!

As charming as the town of Bruges itself

  • 5 of 5

A perfect place to stay in historic Bruges. Close to all the main attractions with one of the most photographed canal scenes around the corner. The accommodation was well appointed, but you need to remember that the Lady Lace was first built in the 17th Century (eg., the floors on the second floors squeak). The host was exceptionally helpful and provided much useful advice on places to say and dine.

Best self catering accommodation we have had!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four has stayed in many self catering houses and we agree this suited us all the best. The living area and beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was very well appointed. The tumble dryer was a real bonus one very wet day! Our teenagers were very relieved the wifi worked well, and also enjoyed the delicious Belgian chips from the shop across the street!

The house is very old and whilst many aspects of it have been tastefully retained, the bathroom is very modern. The house was spotless when we arrived. Francis met us and gave us lots of information about Bruges. The house is perfectly situated in Bruges, only a 5 minute walk - if that - from the Market area and main historic sites. A canal is only a few metres away, and there are lovely walks along it and through the streets.

I would recommend this house to anyone and we hope to return one day.

Beautiful, cozy, right near the center of Bruges

  • 5 of 5

To start, Francis met us at the house personally and spent time showing us the particulars of the house. He answered lots of our questions and gave us tips and local recommendations for eating and sightseeing. He is extremely nice and helpful. The house was perfect for our family of four with a 9 and 11 year old. The attic bedroom was perfect for them! The house is well stocked with all the basics for cooking, including oils, salt and pepper. There are Bruges and Belgium guidebooks for use on the bookshelf.

It is a 5 minute walk to the Markt and Burg. So easy and convenient. Felt almost like a local!

Francis returned to check us out of the house and it felt almost like parting family.

DONT GET A HOTEL in Bruges. Stay at Lady Lace!
