Cozy hideaway

  • 5 of 5

Such a cute place to spend part of the Labor Day weekend. The cabin was easy to find since I had been to this area on several occasions. I was able to catch the final Boat Church service of the year on Sunday morning by taking a brief walk from the cabin. I also walked to The Shady Cliff Restaurant for a catfish dinner (with hush puppies). A sincere thanks to Chris and his brother for driving 30 minutes each way, during a holiday, to show me how to use the TV', which I appreciated during a rainy day.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the beauty and peacefulness of "The Little Cabin on the Hill "

  • 5 of 5

The property was very easy to find using Google maps. When we arrived we first just stood on the gigantic porch. It's huge and lovely. We sat there for a good 20 minutes before we even went in. Upon entry to the cabin I was again in awe of the beauty. You walk in to a full kitchen and a very comfortable living room. They pretty much include everything but food. It is so peaceful I didn't see one vehicle in 5 days. The bedroom is very nice sized. And it has a full bathroom. It was rainy while we were there so we spent alot of time at the cabin and was totally fine with that due to the ambiance. This was our honeymoon and we stayed 5 glorious kid free nights. We arrived on Sunday. On Tuesday we decided to venture out and we went into Bowling Green. It has everything. We found a dive bar and spent several hours there chatting with the super nice locals. Kentucky people are some of the nicest I've had the pleasure to meet. On our way back to the cabin our vehicle broke down in Lewisburg. It is an extremely small town. We were able to pull over at a carwash and instantly a man in an old pickup pulled up asking if we needed help. After much hesitation we figured out he was our only hope so we let him pull us to his drive way. He then insisted we take his old farm truck back to the cabin. Again with hesitation we quickly decided we would . We went back to the cabin and went to bed. Haha. Got up early the next morning and went straight to his house. Spent 9 hours and lots of money trying to fix the problem only to see it couldn't be fixed while in Kentucky. My husband's dad offered to drive from illinois to Kentucky the next morning to pick up our vehicle and leave us his. Again the man and women insisted we take the truck back to the cabin for the night. But not before they bought a huge meal of kentucky bbq, potatoes salad, macaroni salad, and baked beans toward with us. We said no but they again insisted. We sat with strangers and had dinner together. The next morning his dad was there and we dropped the truck back off and headed on our way to enjoy the last day of our honeymoon. Not before trying to pay them. They would not take it though. So. Did the honeymoon go as planned. No! But I'm so happy my faith in humanity is restored for now. Amazing places and people are in the least expected places. We can't wait to go back to the cabin and hope to every couple years. When we left we made sure to put our initials in the tree like others had.

Cute, quiet, adorable cabin.

  • 3 of 5

What an adorable little cabin on the hill. It was extremely quiet even though it is in a neighborhood. You can walk to the lake but the view of the Lake is minimal. It was just enough room for my husband, two kids and myself. They had a cot and two blowup mattresses and one double bed. They have most of the cooking utensils that you would need to make a meal. It was a decent price for a decent stay. There were a few things I think they could improve on such as directions to the cabin. The address they gave google couldn't find. So I used another address I found for the cabin and it took me to the street right in front of the house but no way to it. It took us for 45 minutes to get to the right road. A map would be handy in the check in package. The cabin wasn't dirty but it could've used some TLC. My family had a wonderful time though. We went to the beach nearby and rented a Pontoon for the day. There is plenty of hiking in the area too.

What a tranquil setting for a clean and cute little cabin on the hill. My husband and I stayed here for 3 blissful nights while visiting family. It was so peaceful we didn't want to leave! You can't go wrong staying in this cute as a button cabin and stocked better than any rental we've ever been.

Wonderful Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This little cabin is a gem in a very quiet and peaceful location. I spent 3 nights in the cabin and really enjoyed my stay. It is super clean and well-appointed and the decor is awesome. The surrounding area is very pretty - great for walks, biking or a drive. I will definitely recommend this cabin to friends, and I hope to visit again in the future - thanks for a wonderful getaway location!!

Cute Cabin

  • 4 of 5

I didn't realize it was in the middle of a neighborhood, but it was very quite. Cabin is small, but is in great shape. Quaint place to getaway.
