Fantastic Apartment!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our 2 teenagers stayed in Dario's cool apartment. It is well-furnished, well-supplied, very clean and perfectly located!!! Dario and his wife were so kind in showing us everything we needed to know about the apartment and the surrounding area. We loved our stay and highly recommend this place!!! Thanks so much for everything! We hope to be back some day!

Great apartment in the heart of Firenze

  • 5 of 5

This is a splendid place to stay while visiting this extraordinary city. It is within easy walking distance of all the major museums and churches (as well as the main train station). It's also away from the heavily touristed center, on a quiet street, with a grocery store & bakery only steps away. The apartment is well-appointed with lots of closet space and a modern washing machine. Because it's on an inner courtyard, there is no street noise whatsoever. Finally, Dario, the owner, is gracious and helpful in pointing out restaurants & cafes, as well as being available to answer other questions.

Great apartment

  • 4 of 5

We used the apartment as our home base as we visited the Tuscan, Chianti and Piedmont regions. The apartment was spotless and had the important features we look for; full kitchen, air conditioning, wifi, bath tub, and washing machine. The hosts, Dario and Marguerite, were at our disposal and wonderful. There is a kindergarten across from the apartment so children can be heard during the day (between 10am-3pm) most of the time this was not an issue because we weren't home. The location was approx. 10 min walk to the Duomo and about 15 min to the train station. It is on the first floor (which is great for lugging suitcases), there is not outdoor seating area or view but the kitchen is nice and big enough to cook and eat.

Perfect to explore Florence

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is situated on the ground floor and it is generously proportioned with comfortable furnishings and is ideal for couples wanting to explore Florence (the apartment can actually sleep 5 thanks to the sofa beds, however, as access to the bathroom is via the bedroom, you might need to consider this).

The apartment's location is in a residential part of the city, set back from the street and it is nice and quiet, however, you can very easily walk to all areas within the compact city. For example, you can walk to the railway station (Santa Maria Novella) in 10 minutes (even with a large suitcase!), the Duomo in 10 minutes, the Ponte Vecchio in 15 minutes, Galleria dell'Accademia in 5 minutes... and the list goes on! If you're prepared to walk a little further (up hill), I would highly recommend walking to Forte di Belvedere for the breath-taking views of the city of Florence. It will take you about 40 minutes to walk there, however, you can reward yourself with gelato or caffé on the way there and back!

We found that food and drink in restaurants was always of a very high standard, however it can be a little pricey. If you are prepared to explore a street or two away from the main tourist spots you can find some really superb establishments, where the pricing is actually very cheap! I would highly recommend the 'Il Vegetariano' restaurant which is just around the corner from the apartment (literally 2 minutes walk), where the quality of the food is very high and the pricing is low! Also the organic pizza at SimBIOsi located on Via de' Ginori is very good indeed.

I would recommend that if you are visiting Florence during the peak season that you investigate the "Firenze-Card". We didn't get one, however, when we were stood in large queues (having already bought our tickets), we found out that the Firenze-Card provides priority queue-jumping access into museums and galleries. I think that it may cost a little more than a standard ticket, so you need to consider cost versus time stood in very long queues!

I would certainly stay at this apartment again... it was perfect for us.

The final word goes to the owners, Dario and Margareta who were very welcoming and helpful.

Excellent Florence Rental

  • 5 of 5

We loved this location. Me, my wife, my two sons and daughter stayed here. All of us agreed, this apartment was the perfect place for our vacation in Florence. We woke up every morning and simply headed out the door to see the sights. Dario is the best! He gave us several recommendations regarding what to see in Florence and around Florence. The apartment itself is very well furnished and equipped with all the necessary items. It is very spacious with high ceilings that create volume. It is suitable for families travelling with kids. All beds are very comfortable with clean quality bed lining. There was enough towels and toiletries. The kitchen is well equipped. It takes approximately 15 minutes walking to get to the train station. I will definitely recommend this apartment to our friends traveling to Florence. Big thanks again to Dario for everything.

Very comfortable apartment with helpful owner!

  • 5 of 5

Dario, the owner, responded very quickly to my emails and was always very helpful with information. We found the apartment very easily, about 10-15 minutes walk from the SMN station in Florence depending how much luggage you have. The flat is hidden away from the road inside a long passageway and then a courtyard. Although on the ground floor it was very safe. The flat had plenty of room for 2 people and would have been ok for 3-4. We had twin beds for my friend and I and it was extremely quiet in the evenings for sleeping. The temperature inside was very pleasant and stayed around 21 degrees all day and night. The large bathroom had a very spacious shower as well as a bath. There was plenty of room in the lounge and kitchen area and lots of crockery and utensils. The wifi worked perfectly. There was seating for 4 at the table as well as a large sofa bed that would have seated 3 and a single sofa bed for another person. There was a tv and a dvd player. Dario explained everything to us very well and helped me with my mobile phone. He left a lovely bottle of chianti for us as well. There is a supermarket a few steps in one direction and a bakery just a few doors down in the other direction. There is also a lovely little cafe with an indoor garden perfect for breakfasts, lunches or just coffee and/or gelatos. The owners were very nice and the prices were very cheap. The cafe is in a little street just to the right of the bakery. So, there is plenty of everything close by. I would highly recommend this apartment and we would definitely stay here again.
