Lovely apartment with good amenities
Had a great time in a clean, tidy and well appointed apartment in Marsaskala, Malta. The location was very suitable to our needs travelling with a young family. The swimming pool was a bonus in the hot weather. Thanks would come again.
thank you for your time to submit a review for Carville property. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to welcome you again in sunny Malta.

Not As Advertised
The only reason I'm even giving one star is because it was big enough for our extended family to stay, but you can be sure we'll never stay there again. So many unexpected nasty surprises.
Let's start with the games room. It was unusable. Overpowering smell of mold and chlorine. Wasn't even part of the house, had to go down very slippery, wet stairs to get there - very dangerous.
Not informed that had to pay for wifi, stay fee, water, air-conditioning and electricity. It was ridiculous. And what was even MORE ridiculous was the number of signs EVERYWHERE telling us what not to do. "Signs, signs, everywhere are signs, blocking up my scenery, breaking my mind, do this, don't do that, can't you read the signs".
And everything was as cheap as possible, and we even had to buy our own toilet paper. Not cool for the high price we paid to stay there.
I would never, in my wildest nightmares, recommend this place. Don't ever stay here.
Carville villa apartment is fully detached property built on 400 square metres with own private pool and entrance. The property is spacious enough to accomodate comfortably 10 to a maximum of 15 persons.
Located in a quiet residential area close by to the sea and local amenities which are within easy reach on foot.
This property to start with is advertised informatively on all uk sites in detail, describing the spaciousness, the interior rooms and exterior outdoor surroundings including the games area, BBQ and the outdoor pool.
Also described in the description are the optional extras including wifi and air-conditioning at an extra cost per day ,. No more, no less. The games room area is not so detached as described but leads from outdoors from near the outdoor pool. As the property is located in a quiet residential area, including more of our properties in the neighbourhood it is of utmost important not to be disturbed or disturb others by loud noises. Signs are useful for everyone in general to follow which are part of the rules there are in the house. Regarding to toiletries, we provide starters to our properties including toiletries in every bathroom, basic detergents in kitchens and other useful additional items left in the pantries. From then on it is self catering to the guest.
I do not believe that one has to pick all this ridiculous thoughts and put them down as issues. We were always around to come by a have a talk. But this never happened and no one contacted us.
There was nothing at all to worry about and make it obvious to dangerous. From our recent positive reviews guests had a wonderful and a great stay at Carville, feeling at home! And we are happy that every guest comes out with a smile!
Good size villa but poorly managed and maintained
The villa is a very good size and accommodated 8 adults and a child nicely with a good size pool, however, we would not stay here again as we found the villa grubby and poorly maintained, this is some of our feedback
• the bedding was dirty when we arrived and one bed had short black hair (looked like pet hair) under the pillow and duvet. The bedding was changed when we informed Jane, but shows that the bedding hadn't been changed between guest stays
• The sofas are very old and the leather is tearing
• one of the bathrooms had faeces in the toilet when we arrived (not a nice smell to arrive to)
• the kitchen table was sticky when we arrived and we had to clean all the table and all the kitchen counters
• there are not enough pots and pans and plates to cook with, for the number of people the villa accommodates. In addition, the pots and pans were dirty or so old the non stick was peeling away. Jane did replace the frying pan, but someone should have picked up on the condition of the pans.
• the games room is more of a gimmick. There is a pool table in there, but the room is so narrow you can't play properly as the pool cue hits the walls.
• the pool is surrounded by close and high walls which blocks all sun except between 1-4pm which sadly means the water is always very cold
• while we were not expecting to find any food, it would have been good service to have left a bottle of water (knowing the water isn't drinkable) or a couple extra toilet rolls.
We were not impressed with customer service and there was no apology for the dirty villa or bedding when we reported it after a couple days (just got told off for not reporting earlier!).
Malta is lovely, but the stay at the villa and the service received put a bit of a downer on the holiday. Would not recommend staying here at all. I think the villa could have nice potential if it was updated and cleaned properly.
Carville is described informatively and advertised as Carville villa apartment accomodating comfortably 10 people to a maximum of 15. It offers a good sized pool, surrounded with outdoor furniture and BBQ equipment and enjoys days full of sunlight throughout the whole day. No walls are that high as described. There is a difference between a high wall and a wall divider to other properties. The property is ultimately private and we are also owners of nearby properties.
Regarding issues that were mentioned during the stay, i was called for a bedding that claimed was not changed. It was not a problem if guest was uncomfortable to it. The bedding was changed and a frying pan was also changed there and then. Sadly enough another issue was brought just after 4 days of the stay including nasty smell in the bathroom and the cleaning. I believe that the guest has exagerrated here and it seems very obvious that it was ridiculous about bringing up another complaint after 4 days when i have been earlier to resolve things beforehand. Moreover to this, if guests happen to find anything that is disatisfying and annoying, i would have come on the day or if the next and offer a solution. This has never happen or at least called us upfront and i am disappointed to hear such issues because it would have been solved instantly. Our satisfaction is to keep our clients happy. carville is a lovely place to stay, in a relaxed location close to rocky and sandy beaches. Future guests may rest assured that they will enjoy their stay at Carville.
Perpect place to visit Malta
From here you can easily visit the whole island and also make a nice walk along the sea to the centre of the town. Close to the airport, local shops and bus stop and in a quiet neigbourhood. We had space enough with our group of 8, slept all nights very well and loved to eat outside. The mailcontact with David and Jane was very pleasant and helpful.
Great stay everything as described
We all had a great time at the villa. Everything was as described on the site and the villa is really close to the local shop and bus stop. It's a lovely walk into the middle of town. The outdoor space was really lovely and good for sitting around in.
This is very nice place where to stay if you are big company and want to stay away from crowd and noise. Very good costumer service, Jane and Daivid are super hosty and friendly. Pool was perfect for that kind of weather, specially kids loved that. This propperty would recomend for everyone,
