Perfect Wedding Location and Fantastic Owner!
This was the first property my wife and I looked at when searching for the perfect outdoor wedding venue - and after meeting with the owner Daniel, and seeing the beautiful grounds, our search was over! The house, the gardens and the beautiful landscaping were the perfect back-drop on our wedding day. Daniel was fantastic to work with from Day 1 and took great pride in ensuring that the property was fully prepped for our wedding day - from planting beautiful flowers, allowing us to meet with the landscaper and even providing us with hay bales on request. He even put us in touch with several local vendors who all worked out wonderfully for our wedding. He was readily available the weekend of the wedding and was quick to make any adjustments or calls to ensure our set-up and experience was a seamless as possible.
We received so many compliments from our guests on the property, and on the beautiful house interior which comfortably fit 8 people. Additionally - there are two farm houses less than a .5 mile down the road that we were able to rent out for our family. We also opted to have our ceremony and pictures at the beautiful Meadowburn Farm gardens. Daniel also allowed us to invite our guests to camp on the property the night of the wedding, which they absolutely loved!
There are several great activities in the area, from hiking to local wineries and orchards - but we rarely found a need or want to leave the property. We especially enjoyed the late night fire pit.
I would recommend this property in a heart beat and hope to return to celebrate future anniversaries. A big thank you again to Daniel and his family for making our wedding weekend an unforgettable experience and for providing a beautiful backdrop which we will fondly reminisce about through our photos for years to come.
Wonderful Country Home
We arrived at this wonderful country home after spending three busy days in New York City. It is very quiet and the property is beautiful. Our grandkids had the best time on the trampoline and they found the swing. A great place to walk. Appalachian trail close by which we all enjoyed greatly. The home is very clean and spacious which is very important to me. The owner was very easy to work with which is much appreciated.
There were eight of us and we all had a great time. I would highly recommend this property.
Amazing Venue For Our Wedding!
My fiancee (now wife) and I were looking for something a bit different for our wedding and we definitely found it at Warwick Valley Farm. Daniel, the owner, was a pleasure to work with. He took care of all the necessary permits, made sure the property had freshly planted flowers and was in top condition, and was available to answer all of our questions. He was incredibly friendly and easy to deal with, while giving you the independence to truly have a relaxing stay. Daniel was also able to recommend local vendors for some of our wedding needs which worked out perfectly. The grounds and house were exactly as pictured above, and formed the perfect backdrop for our wedding. The bridal party was able to spend a whole wedding weekend with us at the house, as it comfortably accommodates 8 people. The house also had all the amenities we needed to enjoy our time there before and after the big day. We would both highly recommend having your wedding or simply taking a short holiday at the Warwick Valley Farm.
Great Stay at Warwick Valley Farm
We were a group of 8 people (4 couples) and had a great experience at the Warwick Valley Farm. Daniel was helpful and easy to work with prior to our weekend at the house. Once we arrived, we were thrilled with the house, grounds and location. The house is beautiful and clean with modern amenities. All of the 4 bedrooms are a good size and the 2 bathrooms are also nice and spacious. The living room couch is a pull out bed, so 10 people could stay at the house comfortably. We spent most of our time backyard in the garden which is absolutely stunning. There was plenty of room for our dogs to run and a fence around the property which gave us peace of mind. We cooked both nights - once using the BBQ once in the open kitchen which had everything we needed. The trip is only 1.5 hours from NYC and there is plenty to do around town with some great restaurants, hiking trails, lakes as well as Warwick Winery which happened to be hosting 'dead fest' during our trip - a lot of fun. I would absolutely recommend Warwick Valley Farm to anyone looking for a quiet, yet up-to-date and modern getaway!
Exactly what we wanted for our wedding
A year ago my wife and I set out to find a place for our wedding. We didn't want the standard 5 hour catering hall rental, we wanted something different. At first we looked at properties that rented for the weekend and host weddings regularly. We found them to be overpriced and too remote to really accommodate a large wedding party. I ended up searching on VRBO for vacation rentals and found the Warwick Valley Farm. The property is absolutely beautiful and the owner Daniel couldn't of been more helpful in making our big day as stress free as possible. On top of that, he was so open to our ideas. We hated that typically guests always have to stay at a hotel the night of a wedding and pay for a room on top of a gift. We approached Daniel with the idea of people camping out on the property the night of the wedding and he said OK! We had 40 people camping out and hanging out. My wife and I of course stayed in the beautiful farmhouse the night of the wedding, but it was so cool to have all our friends and family stay near by.
The Warwick Valley farm is close to nearby hotels for guests that didn't want to camp, and a rental company that provides the tents and all necessary event accessories are close too. Literally the tent place is a mile down the road and the people at Warwick Party Rental were incredible. The kitchen space is an open layout so our caterer was very happy when preparing all the food. I can't say enough about the beauty of the house. One of my favorite aspects are the beams that support the large open space of the living room and kitchen. They are solid Cedar Beams milled right from the property. Absolutely amazing. The bathrooms are all like the dream farmhouse you'd imagine, and the subtle smell of fireplace warms you up when you enter the house.
Daniel had to go out of the country before our big event, which made me nervous, but even while he was traveling he was still so responsive to our emails if we had any questions or needed to stop by the property. One last thing, there are gardens down the road which are part of the Gerard Family estate. Daniel helped us get in touch with the caretaker and set up a photo shoot the for the day of our wedding. The gardens are pristine, and we were honored to have them as the backdrop to our pictures. All our guests were blown away by the farmhouse property, with all the flowers and greenery. We had a perfect wedding, I can't thank Daniel enough. Thanks!
Feels much farther from the city than it is. Part 1.
Nearly a year ago I spent a week with my family at Warwick Valley Farm
and found it to be exactly what was needed and missing from my life. As I
sit tonight, listening to Norah Jones, tired from another day of work and
chores and feeling the first of the real heavy days of New York City heat
this season I recall and look forward to cool nights in the country and
slower days, if just for a short time.
I grew up just a few miles from the house and, while I didn't discover
it as a rental property until many years after I moved away, I know the area
well and am able to appreciate all it has to offer. The hills and mountains
outline the ancient bones of the Adirondacks and offer beauty and charm. The
local farms hold a wide variety of fresh produce, dairy and meat and are as
familiar to me when featured in New York's restaurants and farmer's markets
as they were picked fresh in my youth. The town of Warwick has matured in
the last thirty years and is now a well balanced community friendly to
tourists and locals alike. Whether full or part-time resident, everyone from
working class and gentleman farmers to small town restaurateurs and artists
with summer homes make the cultural ecosystem something both unique and
familiar for city residents.
There is much care and pride taken in the community and it feels as though a
good portion of the population views themselves as stewards of the land; and
for that to exist so close to a major city seems an impossible gift. Warwick
Valley Farm sits nestled amid thousands of acres of preserved land granting peace and privacy.
My gracious host, Daniel Gerard, has put his land to fine use with a
comfortable house that exhibits character from the outside while not
imposing itself on the beauty of the property from the inside. With the
entire first floor as a great room constructed of simple white and natural
wood with white marble in the kitchen, views are nearly three hundred and
sixty degrees through the numerous windows and French doors to the patio. On
the second and third floors there are four bedrooms that provide bed space
for up to eight adults with two full bathrooms. Outside, the natural and
manicured landscape blend nicely with lavender and thyme in abundance closer
to the house as the lawn flows to the dense forest bordering the property.
The entire plot is enclosed with a cattle fence to keep stray cows and deer
from wandering in and provides a sense of security on quiet nights
Located in the scenic Hudson Valley, Warwick Valley Farm spans from Warwick Valley in New York State into Vernon Valley in New Jersey. We are 52 Road miles from New York City.
