About Judy Henley
Found at the end of Old Factory Site Road (just a few minutes drive from downtown Murfreesboro, Lake Greeson and Crater of Diamonds State Park), the Henley family offers a secluded cabin on the banks of the Little Missouri River.
Judy Henley purchased this Cabin in 2011
Why Judy Henley chose Murfreesboro
The cabin sits high on a rocky bank with a large shaded deck facing the water and dense woods. On the deck, you will find a BBQ grill, table for four, hammock and porch swing to relax in while the river flows below. Inside is room to sleep eight, upstairs and down, with a separate bedroom downstairs, pull-out sleeper sofa and two baths. A full kitchen with ceramic counter-tops, refrigerator, JennAir stove, microwave and coffee maker. You'll also find satellite and three flat screen televisions.
What makes this Cabin unique
The 'Old Factory Site' refers to a water driven mill that was located just upstream from the cabin in the mid 1800's. There was once a community, then known as Royston, at the site. The huge timber grid of the mill's 160+ year old foundation can still be seen in the river (a short walk away).

Great Weekend Cabin
Great weekend cabin. I would go back!
Don't let the front photo fool you!
We rented several cabins for out of state visitors for a wedding. The photo of this cabin concerned me. However, it has absolutely the best view and location on the river! The back porch basically over-hangs the river! It is spectacular and such a quiet retreat! The separate entrance to the second bedroom was a bit scary with 3 children (ages 4, 10 and 12) but it turned out just fine! Kids could watch tv and parents could stay connected through ceiling vent. Amenities were fine. It was the view!
Clean cabin on the river
This is a great cabin! It was very clean. It had all sorts of kitchen supplies. The only things it did not have were a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. Otherwise, it was plenty large to fit our family of 4 and was big enough to have more guests. Just to be clear, the only access to the upstairs was via the outside stairs. The upstairs is not connected from the inside, but there is a vent from upstairs to downstairs that you can see/talk through if you are standing right above or below it. The river is a short walk down the hill. There is a great view of the river from the cabin, and you can hear the water from the cabin. The back porch has a porch swing and a hammock and is a perfect spot to relax.
We went to Crater of Diamonds National Park, which is about 10-15 minutes away from the cabin. The second day, we just fished and relaxed at the cabin. We loved this cabin and hope to return soon! Just fyi, the GPS did not direct us right to the cabin. (It came close, but messed up the very last turn.) At the very last turn, veer left, and there is a sign for the cabin on the trash containers. (This cabin shares a driveway with "Sister's Cabin," whose sign was easier to see at night.) Make sure to stop at Hawkins Variety store downtown for an old-fashioned malt or ice cream float. The kids loved it! If you are on the fence, don't be! You won't regret a stay at this cabin!
Beautiful setting and cozy cabin.
We really enjoyed our time at The Old Factory Getaway. We were able to take our three dogs with us and there is plenty of open space outdoors for them to explore. The river is very pretty and the access to it is fairly easy (if you have trouble walking, then it may be too difficult to navigate). Unfortunately for us, the river was high so there was no way to walk into it, however, there are other areas nearby around Lake Greeson that we were able to take our pups to so they could enjoy the water. Just a reminder...there's no WIFI in case that's important to you. :0)
Arkansas is beautiful!
Had a great time in Arkansas! The cabin is the perfect size and very clean and tidy. Great access to the river for swimming and fishing! Thanks again for a great get-away!
Wonderful place to stay!
I loved everything about our stay at this cabin. From the very beginning Judy replied quickly to any questions I had and was very friendly. Checking in and out was a breeze. This property was very clean and had everything we needed for the weekend for a family of 5 and although we didn't cook during our stay there the kitchen is well stocked with anything we could have needed. The upstairs room was perfect for our 3 children to all stay together. I loved the hammock and the wrap around porch it was perfect for morning coffee and you just can't beat the view!
Thank you for choosing our cabin! We do our best to make it like home!
