This is a four bedroom home on the 11th tee of a luscious golf course with mountain views.
There is an attached suite that is separated by locked door from either side and has a separate entrance that is occupied.
The laundry facilities will now be available on request as the suite will share them.
Please let the owner know if you have allergies or other conditions that require deep cleaning. Tucson is a very dusty city.
The golf course offers great deals for golfing has a pool, club house restaurant and gym facilities. The home has pool and spa for private enjoyment as well. Spa heating is included and if you want to heat the home pool it is $250.00/week extra (for gas). It is a family home and can accommodate children and a baby.
The master bedroom has a King bed with ensuite bathroom with shower. Two bedrooms have flat screen tvs. The family room has a 48" flat screen. Two bedrooms have double beds and one has a queen. There are two single mattresses under the beds that can be pulled out for extra guests. The second bathroom has two sinks and shower with tub. Outside there is a croquet set and a ping pong table for your entertainment. For those musically inclined the living room also has a grand piano. There is a formal dining room if you want to have the upscale meal with antique china and crystal to look pretty!!
The home is an older family home with antiques so things are not perfect and new, but are charming.
It is the perfect place to spend time away from the city, although on a golf course it is located in a rural like setting, surrounded by horse property. Horse back rides are available at the scenic Tanque Verde Ranch about 10 min drive away. It is also a short drive away from some beautiful hiking, sight seeing or big city shopping. Tucson has many amenities to offer all types of travelers.
Within 10 mins is a grocery store, three great bakery/luncheon/coffee shops Le Buzz, , a mexican restaurant, a corner pub with food and sometimes live music (the Stillhouse Grill and Bar), two pizza shops (Rosatis Pizza and Bear Canyon Pizza), a family restaurant (Risky Business) and a Dairy Queen. The new Barnyard restaurant just down the street on Tanque Verse is excellent, a bit pricey but worth it.
One of my family's favorite venues is Trail Dust Town on Wilmot (about a 15 min drive). This little complex includes Pinnacle Peak where you can enjoy a good western steak(or chicken) meal. There is a small train and other small carnival rides for kids and a western comedy live stunt show also can be attended. It gives you the feeling of being part of the old west!! You will also see western relics displayed, a vintage photos studio where you can dress the part and have it photographed, and an old style General store where you can shop for cheap tinker toys and souvenirs, then end the night at the Chocolate Depot.
The neighborhood facility has a gym, there is a rock climbing club(the BLOC climbing fitness and yoga) and another gym (Desert Sports and Fitness) also within 10 min drive.
Saguaro National Park, Sabino Canyon, Mount Lemon drive and Redington Pass are all within a 15 min drive where the natural desert landscape, mountain terrain with city views can be enjoyed. Many tourists and city dwellers come to these areas to bike (motorized and cyclists). Wild life roaming are very often sighted in this rural type setting; coyotes, roadrunners, and quail are common, deer can be seen sometimes and on occasion javelinas and bobcats.
Park Place, a large mall with theaters is a 20 min drive and a chichi mall, La Encantada is about 30-40 min where you will find high end shopping (Tiffany's, Coach, Anthropologie, and Michael Kors to name a few) and a number of gourmet restaurants and lounges. Downtown Tucson with numerous bars, breweries, clubs, live music and restaurants is about 30 to 40min drive. This is where large theater productions, ballets and concerts are most often performed as well at the Tucson Convention Center. The U of A Wildcats have high quality college sports games that can be attended if you plan ahead, also about 30 to 40 min drive. If you want professional sports Phoenix is about a 2 hour drive where the Coyotes hockey, Cardinals football, Diamondback baseball or Suns basketball games can be attended. A number of professional baseball teams have spring training in Phoenix including; the Cubs, the Rangers, Royals, Mariners, Padres, Dodgers, White Sox, Indians, Reds, Brewers, Angels, Rockies and Giants. The Phoenix International airport is often a few hundred dollars cheaper to fly into and has more flights if you don't mind the two hour drive after either with a rental car or shuttle (Arizona shuttles). The Tucson International Airport is about a 45 min drive to my home.
Of course the world renowned Gem Show happens in Tucson Jan 17 to Feb 11, where rocks, gems and fossils are showcased and jewelry galore from all price ranges can be purchased. You have more access if you have can get a retail business license but there are many tents/venues for the public as well.
If you are interested in exploring authentic Mexican culture the border town of Nogales is about 1.5 hour drive where you will find crafted goods, authentic mexican food and all other bordertown goings on!! The desert areas south of Tucson, particularly around Patagonia are well known for excellent quantity and variety of birding opportunities. Also within a 1.5 - 2 hour drive you can go to Sonoita for a wine tour, visit Kartchner Caverns, visit the historic mining town of Bisbee and do a mine tour or watch the gun fight at the restored Old Western Town of Tombstone. The website for SouthernArizonaGuide provides more information about these attractions.
