Brand new for the summer of 2010. Villa Paradeisos is truly a touch of paradise! Set on the hillside it offers staggeringly beautiful panoramic sea views and is situated in a charming little village called Lakithra. Villa Paradeisos is an enchanting three bedroomed property:one of the bedrooms conveniently located on the ground floor, with a marble staircase leading to two further bedrooms on the second floor. All bedrooms offer luxurious en-suite wetrooms.Fully air conditioned, this spacious villa comprises a large living area with TV, DVD and a bar area, a separate lounge and a fully fitted kitchen with all convenient facilities. All areas have access to balconies, allowing you to enjoy the peaceful scenery and idyllic sea views. Externally: the kitchen leads out onto the bbq and covered pergola seating area, where you can relax and enjoy dining 'al fresco'. Stone steps lead down to the bright sun terrace and private swimming pool, all set within walled and landscaped gardens. The villa has been inspected from the Greek Tourism Organisation and the EOT Licence is: 0458K92000477701.
We chose Villa Paradeisos for our wedding accommodation for ourselves and another couple, and it was the perfect choice. Simon was really kind and helpful leading up to our stay, providing us with additional photos of both the villa and of nearby St Christopher's Chapel, where we held the wedding ceremony - both in such beautiful locations and providing wonderful photo opportunities.
We arrived in the dark, after a 1.5 hour flight delay, and couldn't wait for dawn to arrive so we could see the views - we weren't disappointed! The villa oozed quality and was extremely well-equipped and spacious. It was located well off the village road, and the steep driveway down to the parking area (shared with one other villa) and long flights of steps down to the villa itself made the location even more quiet and private. It was well screened from the villa next door, so this didn't impact on our privacy at all. (The steps and steep driveway would be an issue for the less mobile, however.) The pool was a great size and was kept wonderfully clean, and the garden areas were delightful, providing a lovely setting for the cake-cutting, sparkling wine and wedding photos.
The village of Lakithra was very peaceful, with a bakery, mini-market and a handful of eating places within easy walking distance, and the locals were very friendly. It was a great base for exploring the beautiful island of Kefalonia, although we feel we've only really scratched the surface and will definitely have to return.
We pre-booked a hire care from Poly at cefaloniarentacar.com (based in nearby Lassi - we also got some beautiful wedding rings from Veronica's Jewellers there), who was a real pleasure to deal with and who gave us a wedding discount and brought us a wedding gift of a bottle of wine when she delivered the car to the villa on our first morning - such a lovely gesture!
We can also thoroughly recommend personal chef Rory (details at villa - bondviveur.com), who cooked a superb wedding reception meal for the four of us at the villa. He's a really lovely, personable guy and provided so much food that the leftovers fed us all the following evening!
It was a real treat to stay at Villa Paradeisos and use it as our wedding accommodation. Thank you so much, Simon and Chrissy, for letting us share your second home :-) Helen and Andy xx
We had a wonderful time
staying at your villa in Kefalonia.
We were very impressed with the quality of the furnishings in the villa,
and the extremely well equipped kitchen.
The views were stunning, and the location ideal for visiting other
places (but quiet too).
The weather was very hot for the time of year, so we spent a lot of time
in the pool - which was lovely and relaxing.
We did do some cooking ourselves, and made use of the BBQ twice.
Despite the heat, we did visit the Melisanni cave, Sami, Asos, St
George's Castle and Argostoli, and stopping off at loads of tavernas at
We had a great time, and would like to thank you again for use of the villa.
Choosing the right villa and location can be a frustrating task especially for a demanding family with high expectations . With Villa Paradeisos we needn't have worried. The house is in a perfect location close to the airport and positioned on a quiet hillside with amazing views across the sea to Zante. The owners have gone to great lengths to ensure that the villa is a home from home and not just a basic holiday let as some can be. Thoughtful touches such as an extensive DVD & games selection kept the kids happy throughout our stay. Conveniently placed UK plug adapters and a fully equipped kitchen are more examples of the forethought which has gone into offering the villa for rental. The house has been constructed to a high specification, well maintained and is tastefully decorated. Perfect pool and well kept gardens.
Lakithra is a charming village and the tavernas, mini market & bakery are within easy walking distance. For those with more 'international' tastes there is a Carrefour and AB supermarket just 10 minutes drive away on the outskirts of Argoostoli. The locals are very friendly and indeed the Avis lady who organised our car at the airport had lived in Lakithra all her life and was very helpful (that's not typical of Avis staff worldwide!!).
Kefalonia is a beautiful island which you must endeavour to explore and we felt Lakithra was a great base for this.
We have been fortunate enough to have stayed in many similarly priced villas throughout Spain, Italy & Greece. Whilst these were all carefully researched we can honestly say that Villa Paradeisos is one of only two that we would definitely want to return to and have no hesitation in recommending the property to those wanting a memorable holiday experience.
Perfect villa for relaxing, entertaining or exploring the fabulous beaches and sites. So easy to get to; close to the airport yet totally tranquil and set in a wonderful village with great tavernas on your doorstep. The attention to detail is great and if you're after an easy, chilled holiday with super weather then this is hard to beat! The care that Simon and Christine take to make sure your trip is perfect before, during and after your holiday is hugely valued.
Property is great. Views from bbq and pool area are fantastic. Located in a quiet area but close enough to walk to great restaurants and bars.
Totally reccommend this property
I stayed here with a group of friends and was blown away with the views from the front of the villa, over to Zante. The villa is very modern and the 3 floors work well as its built on a hill side within a short walk of the town of Lakithra. The pool was more than adequate in size and well maintained. It's well equipped and had everything we needed and some lovely touches that exceeded or expectations.
I'll definitely go back.
This delightful, traditional greek village Lakithra is located in the southwest of the island of Kefalonia and is surrounded by olive groves and lemon trees. It is known for its advantageous location and warm climate. In the village there is a sumptuous bakery, convenient mini- market ,excellent tavernas and restaurants and a few pretty churches. High in the hills there are spectacular panoramic rural and coastal views which inspired Lord Byron during his stay in Metaxata.Lord Byron's rock can be found in Lakithra village! Lakithra is an ideal base for excursions to any destination within the island. Some of the prettiest beaches are in the Lakithra vicinity including: Avithos, Ai Helis and Ammes in Livatho and Lassi Platis Gialos, in the direction of Argostoli. Other beaches such as:Karavados, Pessada and Lourdas are only a short drive away. Argostoli, the capital is just 2 km away and is a lively cosmopolitan town with an exciting atmosphere, numerous bars, restaurants and shops.
