Four of us spent a wonderful ten days in La Maison Bleue. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the kitchen well-furnished. The welcome package of bread, butter, coffee and tea was much appreciated. The location was perfect for us to use as a base from which to explore Perigord. Font des Gaumes, just across the road (about five minutes on foot) is not to be missed! As the October nights cooled, the central heating was welcome. Nikki and Daryl were good hosts - available if needed and always ready to help or make suggestions.
We were three families with ages ranging from 11-75 and the three gites accommodated us all comfortably. Nikki was extremely helpful before our arrival responding to lots of questions and setting up extra beds where we needed them. During the week Nikki and Daryl were around most days and helped us with any issues we had as well as giving us great advice on places to visit. The pool was great and well used by all. We appreciated all the various sit out areas around the garden and property. The large grounds were great for playing frisbee and other games. All in all it was a great holiday. Thanks Daryl and Nikki.
We have stayed here a few times now and returned to celebrate my big 50 birthday. Once again it was such a relaxing stay with fantastic weather and we are still discovering new places to visit and enjoy that made the week fly by. The house is really comfortable and the large, sunny patio area was perfect for the birthday barbecue.
This is my second time here at La Maison Bleue and i can't wait for the next. It along with the 2 other gites here are beautiful and set in a stunning landscape as well. They are all well maintained, spotlessly clean and have all the facilities you could need for a comfortable stay. The location is ideal as it is set in a quiet area yet is surrounded with places and activities to go to, do or see.
Daryl and Nikki are brilliant and will do everything they can to make your stay the best it can be and i would highly recommend a stay here to anyone that was interested in taking a holiday in France, I really can't praise it enough.
Well I think that considering this was our 6th stay here in 3 years says an awful lot!!
The gardens and house are stunning, so much space and everything you should ever need you will find the house.
Children are fantastically catered for here, games room, trampoline, pirate ship, swings and of course the pool!!
If you can ever tear yourself away from relaxing at the house there is so much to do locally for adults and children alike, from cave visits, aquarium, crazy golf, canoeing, visiting some beautiful towns, and the local markets day and night are fantastic a particular favourite this trip was the food night market at Le Bugue would very highly recommend for adults and my 7 year old son had a brilliant night! this just names a handful we still have loads to visit on our list!
If you wish to have a break from BBQ's there are some lovely restaurants locally and all child friendly with amazing menus and food.
The hosts Nikki and Daryl are lovely! there to ask questions and impart their knowledge of the area but completely unobtrusive you really feel this is your home for your holiday!
This really is the ideal property in the ideal location for a lovely family holiday!! so much so we can't wait till next year to come back and have decided to return again this year and the end of summer hols!
