We have visited many Gites in Europe and few have displayed the amount of thought, work and taste that Daryl and Nikki have put into these homes – they brim with character, possess all the comforts and are so well kept. Our 6 yr old was in vacation heaven, pool, toys, apparatus and a stream. Joy of the day helping Dary

Four of us stayed in La Fenil, walking distance to the village of Les Eyzies de Tayac.
We all found the gite had everything you could possibly need. Beds were very comfortable, shower powerful.
Accommodation larger than first thought, lovely gardens and pool to relax in after a day of sight seeing.
Near to canoeing, caves and within easy access of nearby medieval villages, Domme and Sarlat being our favourites.
Daryl was there to meet and greet us, thanks for the lovely bottle of Rose, along with a starter pack !
One thing we didn't find until the last day were the lounger cushions, these are kept undercover in garden along with plenty of information on trips.
Lots of choice of restaurants in the village, Cafe de la Marie and Mentalo pizzeria were our favourites and La Combarelles which is 2 mins in car going left out of the property so not in village was really good, all staff very friendly and food excellent.
Would definitely return and recommend.
Lovely homely gite, great facilities perfect for us and our 5yr old and Owner's Darryl and Nikki were very welcoming and helpful. Definitely somewhere we would love to return.
On arrival at Les GIROTEAUX we were met by Nicky and Daryl and shown to our Gite. La Fenil (The Hayloft) It's set within a courtyard with small fish pond and fountain very pretty. On entering the gite there is a living room kitchen including a tv/DVD player. The kitchen is very well fitted out with everything you could possibly need. Of special note is the welcome pack which includes a bottle of wine. A nice touch.
Upstairs the bedrooms are a good size. Nice comfortable beds and plenty of plug sockets for charging all your mobiles /laptops etc. There's a good sized bathroom with bath/shower.
Outside is a individual patio with table and chairs and extensive grounds including a lovely swimming pool and sun loungers. Plus inflatable toys for the kids. There is also a climbing frame in the shape of a ship and a games room with table football. So plenty of things to keep the kids amused.
The great thing about the location is, there is so much to see and do. Les Eyzies is within walking distance there's a small supermarket and a pharmacy close by and a little further the village has a number of good cafes/eating hostelries.
Trips out. Well favourites were canoe trips on the Dordogne particularly around Castelnaud. Le roc St Christophe and the cave at Gouffre de Proumeyssac. Also not to be missed are the Markets at St Cyprien and Le Bugue.
All in all a fantastic holiday. The locals in this part of France are very friendly and helpful. And Nicky and Daryl were the perfect hosts. One or the other was around most days making sure everything was ok and were very approachable.if they weren't there they were only a phone call away.
We had a wonderful holiday and can't wait to return. I can't give a higher recommendation than that
Lovely gite, perfect for 2 couples or a family. Also a large shared swimming pool which we made full use of as it was so hot!
The property was spotless, nice contemporary furnishings and the bed linen and towels were great quality.
Would recommend a trip to Monpazier and to The Josephine Baker chateau - great for lunch, interesting tour and falconry display.
We have just returned from a lovely week. Great area, peaceful location but with lots to do and plenty of nice restaurants etc.
Accommodation was perfect, gite was well equipped and nothing was too much trouble for the owners.
Recommend to all and we will return.
What can I say, La Fenil is absolutely lovely, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, very well equipped with everything and more you would need for a fabulous self catering holiday. The plan of the gites is really well thought out with each party having their own private space but sociable at the same time. The gardens are stunning and really well maintained with plenty of open area for the kids to enjoy running about, especially the tramponline ! The property is quiet and peaceful despite being on the road to the village which was great as we would walk in to the bars and restaurants. Recommend Moulin de Beaune !! The whole family loved it and we are definitely going to return. The owners were there each day and were really helpful but not intrusive. Thanks Daryl and Nikki keep up the good work.
