About Ann Goldman
Hi there, As a young girl, I have fond memories of visiting my grandmothers' bungalows in the South. I was especially intrigued by the porch swings. My brothers were, too. We had many squabbles over that swing and the front porch glider. Be sure, Catherine's Cottage has its own porch swing. In fact, all nine of my properties have porch swings. My own home has two! That is why I call my collection of rental homes "Porch Swing Boutique Home Rentals". Five of them are now fully furnished for vacation travelers. I have a signature shabby-chic, eclectic style with a hint of coastal. Previous guests sometimes ask me to help them furnish their own homes in that style. As the former art director of a media research company, I really enjoy adding color, and texture to my rooms. I see them as three-dimensional layouts. I also like adding antiques and quirky pieces from salvage yards and consignment shops. My homes are like collections of unique pieces, but still leaving lots of space for my quests to spread out and feel at home. I rent both short term (7-30 days) and long term (6 months and more). I rent my bungalows in Old Northeast to sophisticated renters who appreciate tasteful vintage homes with lots of charm and character. I take special interest in the yards, adding fountains and gardens. People have different rental needs. Some are just ready to escape dismal northern winters. Some are on extended stay business trips. Some visit family and friends here. Some are searching for a home to buy and want to live here a few months to check out the area. Then when the home they want comes on the market, they are ready to put down the first contract. Recently, I had a couple find their forever home by doing just this.

Why Ann Goldman chose Historic Old Northeast
This property, Catherine's Cottage, was named after my mother who loved to garden. It is unusual to find a bungalow that has been so meticulously cared for over the years. It is almost 100 years old! There are many original features; coquina stone (made from shell) covers the outside porch wall surfaces. The original teal and gold tiles grace the floor of the porch. The fireplace is flanked by two deco light fixtures and the home has the original varnished mahogany doors with glass doorknobs. There are many arches throughout the home. The door off the living room is even arched. And the old drop down ironing board is still in the kitchen. Just in case you need to iron a shirt!
What makes this House unique
Catherine's Cottage is on a quiet residential street, but yet close enough to walk to town. It is the perfect size for a couple or two couples. When you rent, you rent the entire house and yard. The big front porch (with swing) is a perfect spot to relax. The lush backyard is a great oasis to sun bathe. Keep your car in the convenient carport. We even have a garage. St. Petersburg, Florida keeps getting better. People used to think there was nothing to do in St. Petersburg but sit on the green benches downtown. But now, it is a vibrant, growing city and an exciting tourist destination with lots of charming bungalows! You don't even have to own a place here. I may just have one when you are ready to come.

A Charming & Peaceful Home!
This is a charming, beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. Ann has a great sense of décor and style, making this a comfortable, welcoming home with all amenities. Vintage touches, beautiful hardwood floors, fireplace, walk-in closet, and all amenities in the kitchen, bath and living areas. The pictures shown are very true, yet there is so much more to appreciate in this house! Truly a gem. I live locally and rented this property for family who was visiting. This house is located in a very desirable neighborhood in St. Pete; it’s very peaceful, yet close to parks, restaurants and downtown. A lovely front porch and a tropical back patio w/ water fountain are a perfect place to relax! Thank you, Ann, for sharing your treasure w/ us!
Home away from home...
This is my second time staying at Catherine's Cottage and it did not disappoint the second time around... From the sweet treat and bottle of white wine waiting to greet me upon arrival ... to the cozy well thought out living space and kitchen... to the beautiful garden and fountain out back, Catherine's Cottage feels like the next best thing to my own home. I truly appreciate all the thoughtfulness and details put into this wonderful space! Thanks so much, Ann!
Very relaxing and clean home
Ann is a great host and her home was very clean and inviting. My wife, daughter and I had a very relaxing time hanging out in the back yard while listening to the soothing fountain. The house is in a very historic and walk-able neighborhood. You can easily walk to the parks along the water or even to downtown in about 20 minutes. We stayed a month but wouldnt hesitate to stay longer. Thanks again Ann!
Great home - great host
We stay in rental appartements on a regular base and this was certainly one of the best we ever had. Very good location, nice and cosy house, very well equiped. If something was missing or we had a problem, Ann responded super-fast. Highly recommended!
Beautiful Historic Bungalow in the Middle of Old Northeast
Wanting to stay right in the middle of the Old Northeast while house-hunting, we felt right at home in this lovely cottage. Besides a fantastic front porch where we could watch the passersby and a gorgeously landscaped back patio, the cottage had everything to make our 6-week stay special. Beautifully furnished with a whimsical vibe and gorgeous hardwood floors, the cottage became our new home. Pluses included a spacious closet, two full bathrooms, and a fabulous washer and dryer. We were especially pleased to be able to accommodate our dog, Riley. Ann was very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. The location was primo--a quiet and hospitable neighborhood and a short walk to the park by the bay. Staying at the cottage whether vacationing or house-hunting will guarantee a wonderful visit to St. Petersburg.
