Ask a questionAbout Susan Brunner
Following years of studying, working and traveling in France, we are complete Francophiles hoping to retire to Burgundy in the future. Our daughters both love France too, and although still at school and university, spend as much time as possible working with us to ensure that the rentals at Rue Montmeix are everything you could want. Sometimes we will be there to welcome guests, but on the occasions we are not, we have a wonderful local manager to look after you. The most enjoyable thing is sharing recommendations of wine and food between our guests and recommending local attractions.
Susan Brunner purchased this House in 2011
Why Susan Brunner chose Meursault
After years of wanting to buy a second home in France, we had decided on the wine villages of Burgundy as our favorite location. We wanted to be in one of the prime villages of the area, with easy access to beautiful Beaune. Unable to find property to rent of the quality we required over the years, we were thrilled to find the house through a local firm of property designers and builders - although needing total renovation we fell in love with the charm and peace of numéro 6 immediately, totally won over by the stone, woodwork and fabulously peaceful views.
What makes this House unique
Rue Montmeix is truly our piece of paradise, which we love sharing! Uniquely positioned only 150 metres from the village square and all its amenities (2 bakers, great butcher, small supermarket, kitchen shop, Tabac, three or four restaurants and 50 vignerons!), the two houses that we rent out have been newly renovated from the beautiful stone winemaker's barn that our house (yet to be renovated!) is part of. The houses are calm and quiet, light and cool in summer, and warm and cosy in the winter, with some amazing stone walls and a beautiful oak frame, all carefully renovated by local master craftsmen. They face south, with a small vineyard in front, a newly reclaimed one being planted to the right, and views up to the vine-covered hills. The outside space is huge, especially for a wine village - each house has its own parking space, lots of privacy and its own outside bbq and eating area. In addition, the two rentals share a luxurious decked area, boule court area, and top of the range hot tub.
