5 BR 7 B. home, stunning views, private beach, van, driver, housekeeping 3x/wk
The owners live on the mainland of Honduras and work at Loma de Luz Hospital, a non profit Christian Charitable organization. The home is used by the owners and coworkers to get away from the riggors of providing health care in an underserved remote location on the North shore of Honduras. The owners update and use the home regularly so that it is comfortably furnished and maintained with all the necessary amenities guests might need.
Rosanne purchased this House in 2010

The property was in a prime location! It was fantastic that we had Eddie to drive us, he was easy to get a hold of and we had no longer then a 10 minute wait for pick up. We had a great time!
Thanks for taking time to review our home. We agree, Edie is a gem.
We were very happy with the house and its management. We recommend it. Eddier, the driver, was the best! If you rent the house, definitely hire Eddier to drive you.
Honeymoon at L'alize
We stayed at L'alize for honeymoon and had an amazing time! The house was everything we were looking for! We loved the private beach cove and felt like we were perfectly tucked away! There wasn't a bad view in the place and we loved sitting on the balcony to read and have coffee each morning. It was easy to get to the action though because it was a 5 minute or less drive to West Bay for dining, shopping and diving.
We used the private cove everyday and loved going out to snorkel and kayak. I would recommend bringing water shoes.
The house had everything we could have needed and the staff was so friendly, accommodating and responsive. We loved having the house to ourselves for our honeymoon but could easily go back with friends/family and use up more of the space without feeling like we were on top of each other. We're hoping to go back to celebrate an anniversary!
We were a group of eight friends (four couples) visiting Roatan for the first time. The first thing you see when you walk in the house is the beautiful view of the sea. It is stunning. We spent hours out on the deck just hanging out, enjoying the view and the constant breezes. And those breezes really are constant. They are not only cooling, but they do a lot to keep the bugs away. The pool is a refreshing reprieve from the high temps. The little ocean cove down the path offers a fun place to play in the waves when it’s windy. But we were also able to snorkel in the mornings. The snorkeling was fabulous! We saw tons of different types of corals, colorful fish everywhere and even an old boat wreck. We hired Eddier as a driver for the week. This was well worth it as you will need transportation into town, other beaches and other areas of the island. There are a few recommendations we would make. The beds and linens downstairs should be replaced. The beds downstairs are extremely uncomfortable. Perhaps if it were kids staying in those two rooms, they wouldn’t really notice. But the couples staying in those two downstairs rooms really had a hard time with those beds. The dishwasher should be replaced. The pool area needs more lounge chairs and could use a few hooks to hang towels. The old cable tv satellite needs to be secured or removed as the wind bangs it against the house all night. Overall, our visit to L’Alize was lovely and a vacation we’ll never forget.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review.
I am glad the breezes were cooling all the days you were there and that you had the chance to snorkel along our reef at the keyhole beach. We have seen turtles, sea horses, and many schools of colorful fish -as well as some impressively large 4-5 foot grouper and barracuda. We agree that Edier is definitely worth having to help you get around without the worry.
I appreciate your telling us about the queen beds downstairs. This is our first report in 120 visitors, (which is the number of guests who have slept on them for a week each, since we purchased them) No one has mentioned the bed’s uncomfortableness or the linen issues- either privately (which we appreciate) or publically, in the four years we have had them. But thanks to you we will get right on this. First looking into the problem by sleeping on them and then replacing them if a foam topper of some such thing, will not help.
The linens have already been taken care of. The satellite dish has been removed. Very sorry to hear it made noise at night in the breeze. We just shipped four new beach loungers for the beach which arrived last week, they are made of salt resistant material (not accessible on Roatan) and we re adding one more lounger to the pool area.
The dishwasher is quite new but has complicated settings which unless programmed properly, will heat dry the dishes which gives them a dingy look due to the calcium in the water. We will add better instructions. Mirna washes guest dishes when she comes over for the housekeeping days 3x a week, to help with this.
Not sure we can add hooks to the cement walls near the pool, but we will try to come up with something to make keeping track of towels, more convenient.
Thanks for taking the time to help us up our game.
We had a fabulous vacation! My family and I traveled with two other families. We were a group of 6 adults and seven children. Traveling with such a large group can be stressful but it wasn't, thanks in large part to Rosanne, Edier, & Mirna.
The description of the home, area, and staff were accurate. Pictures do not do justice to the views of the water from L'alize. The private beach was very pretty. Our children loved snorkeling and seeing the ship wreck near the rocks by the beach. We appreciated having the snorkel equipment available. We also enjoyed kayaking the waters. Edier was wonderful pulling out the beach equipment for us and putting it away.
The combination of the pool and beach were great complements to one another. They were great to have on afternoons or mornings when we wanted to relax. We could swim, enjoy the view, snorkel, kayak, or read- it was amazing!
Rosanne was fantastic through every stage of the booking process, our stay, and after we checked out. Her communication skills are stellar and she is very responsive owner.
Traversing the hills and turns of Roatan's roads is not an easy task. Edier was an excellent driver. He was always on time to drive us and very quick to pick us up whenever we called for a ride. We never had to worry about getting lost or finding parking. Edier also helped us arrange tours for much less than the prices advertised online. Our group went ziplining, visited monkeys and sloths (the monkeys are very friendly), did Snuba, went on a boat tour of the Mangrove, visited Little French Key, explored the West End shops and beaches. The option of the van and a driver is both unique and well worth it.
I highly recommend L'alize!
A piece of paradise
The view, keyhole beach and location were perfect for our group! Edier, our driver, was always available and very considerate. Soft pillows, great living amenities, warm showers, and plenty of games and pool tidbits to keep us busy if we needed it.
