Megève Chalet is in a traditional Savoyard town that has a pedestrianised centre around a 13th century medieval church. With interesting narrow streets to explore and a wide variety of boutiques, delicatessens, bars and restaurants, Megève is still occupied by many of the original families such as the Perinets and Grossets but with all the amenities of a modern ski resort.
We have had a lovely time here despite mixed weather
The chalet is fantastic - very comfortable and great location.

Full terms and conditions will be sent to you on receipt of a booking enquiry
We had a fabulous stay at this lovely, well equipped chalet. In August we went on our first family holiday with our 9 month old son to Megeve. The owners of the chalet were extremely accommodating of the baby, ensuring a travel cot was set up for us and high chairs etc easily accessible. The chalet has everything you need and more for a comfortable stay and its location is second to none being only a short stroll from the centre of Megeve and all the towns amazing amenities. We cant wait to go back next summer!
We loved our stay as the location is great and the apartment is lovely .
We took the ground floor apartments and its great if you have kids as they can spend time playing in the garden .The property is well maintained and clean.
The listing on the website was accurate and the owner provided good customer service , I certainly would recomend this property .
This is our 10th successive year of skiing in Megeve, we have been elsewhere as well, but Megeve is simply special.
The chalet is split into three apartments, and for the last three years we have taken the large 4 bedroomed one. The location is good, about 800 mtrs from the town centre, about a 5-6 minute walk from the main chamois chair lift.
The apartments itself was renovated about 3-4 years ago, and has been done to a very high standard, with a great kitchen, open plan lounge with a wood burning stove, and a separate TV room. The bedrooms are good, two ensuite, one decent double and a smaller boxroom, good for kids, and just about suitable for two adults. Parking outside, and a garage/ski-room on the ground floor.
Megeve itself is a delight, great shops, lively bars, a good selection of restaurants, and a terrific ambience. The skiing is best for intermediate levels, albeit if you want more challenging conditions, the valley Blanche will tempt you and there are numerous off piste opportunities.
After a hard days skiing, you can also get a horse drawn carriage back to the apartment for about 14e, great for tired legs.
The property was very clean, and is generally very well equipped, e.g. docking station for an ipod etc, and after eating out in the mountains, its great to be able to come back and chill, watch a movie etc.
My only critisism would be the size of the 4th bedroom, and the fact that two bedrooms have to share a bathroom, but in reality if you were renting a property with all of these it would be even more expensive.
Great restaurants in the mountain include L'Alpette, (the oldest mountain restaurant in France), owned by the same people who own the hotels Mont Blanc, and Les Freme de Marie, and La Raviere, a tiny place, drop down "Freddy" an easy black run, and after 200mtrs turn right onto an easy blue called la Raviere.
The Jass club is also worth a visit, but very expensive, a round of drinks for 8, (albeit also including a bottle of champage and a bottle of white), was over 200e, but for a blast its good
In summary, the chalet is excellent, journey times from Geneva are about an hour, and split between 8 adults, (as our party was), represents decent value, vs the generally very expensive hotels in the area.
We spent 2 perfect weeks in beautiful Megeve and were very lucky to find Le Gai Tourbillon; far enough from town to be quiet but close enough to walk to the Chamoix telecabine and to the great restaurants at night. The flat is cosy and comfortable - the bedrooms and bathrooms especially ( bed linen is A grade) and the laundry a welcome amenity. The lounge room is on the small side for 4 adults but could be made more spacious with more seating with a different lounge suite. The one there is too comfortable! 2 people end up lying on it and there is no room for the others. The only other thing we missed was a microwave. Space is at a premuim and we were madly trying to "redesign" the kitchen area to accommodate one! The housekeeping service was excellent and communication from owners flawless. This is a great little apartment in the heart of Megeve!
A chalet within 5 minutes walk of the main Megeve square. we stayed in the small 1 x BR apartment downstairs facing the backyard. It was inviting, warm, clean, and had all the items needed for a great stay. Some additional hooks etc to hang some clothes would have been great, but really, overall, very positive and happy to report an enjoyable stay. David
We spent 1 week in the main chalet and could not have been happier with our stay. This is the best ski chalet we've ever stayed in.
The property has been completely renovated, very clean and has all the amenities. The owners are very friendly and the management property company provided outstanding customer service.
The location is excellent, less than 10 minute walk from the Town Center and ski lift.
We strongly recommend this property to our friends and family and look forward to returning next year.
Le Gai Tourbillon is situated 500 metres from the centre of the Megève ski resort and village. Situated in a quiet location the chalet is within short walking distance of the ski lifts and slopes, shops, restaurants, bars and local amenities.

All this under the breath taking scenery that is the French Alps including Mont Blanc, western Europe's highest mountain.
