Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing view of the river! My husband, 3 teens & I recently enjoyed a much needed break from the incredibly hot temperatures of West Texas. We chose this Ruidoso cabin on the river. My family had a hard time prying me away from the back deck. We cooked most of our meals at the cabin. The cabin is very well supplied & comfortable. It is located among lots of other cabins, but once you step out the back door, you feel secluded. I made some sugar water for the hummingbird feeder & enjoyed seeing many variations of hummingbirds. We hand fed the visiting deer Apple slices & deer corn. Our plans to zip line at ski apache were foiled due to thunderstorms, but thank goodness for such a beautiful little spot to enjoy time together & relax. We definitely hope to visit again.

Owner's Response: Sorry that the thunderstorms ruined your zip line at Ski Apache but we were delighted to get them. The July rains were late this year and it has been warmer and drier than usual. We are seeing more wildlife since they now have more food. In addition to the deer we have had elk around and a gray fox with a den up on the mountain. Always fun to watch. Glad you enjoyed your stay and will be looking for your return.

Perfect!!

  • 5 of 5

Sitting on the porch listening to the river, watching the wildlife and relaxing was amazing any time of the day, my favorite time was morning, and evening. So close to so many things to do, we climbed the mountain at Ski Apache (take water), visited Lincoln (Billy the Kid stuff), Cloudcroft, White Sands National Monument, shops and walking all thru and around Ruidoso, elk on main street... it just goes on, weather is perfect, low humidity, I just cant say enough good about this place. There really is something for everyone, our kids aged 8-18 all had a great time and were sad to leave.

Owner's Response: Yes, some people use our cabin as a base for explorations and activities; others just stay put and enjoy the quiet and the visiting wildlife. As the old saying goes, “Whatever floats your boat.”

Great location with a wonderful view of the river!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is easy to find and access as it is on Main in Upper Canyon. It is only minutes from the horse races/shopping/gambling or anywhere else in Ruidoso! The cabin has plenty of room with two large bedrooms that could sleep 6 comfortably. Sitting on the deck watching the river is the best! Our grandchildren loved playing in the river as well. We will definitely stay again!

Owner's Response: Our children used to play in the river for hours at a time and, even in the summer, the water was icy cold. We thought their feet would break off frozen at the ankles but they all survived and loved it! Same for our grandchildren! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your next visit.

Best river view in Ruidoso!

  • 5 of 5

We are familiar with just about every nook and cranny on the river in the Upper Canyon and this cabin holds the best view by far. You just won’t want to leave!!! Barbara was great and the cabin is a perfect weekend getaway. Difficult to get a reservation for a reason so book early!

Owner's Response: Everyone loves our view! And we certainly agree with you about it. That was our main reason for buying this cabin in the first place! We are glad you enjoyed it and appreciate your suggestion about booking early. Some people start in midwinter! Come back any weekend you can.
