Apollonium Spa & Beach Resort, managed by Club la Costa, is a 90,000sq m spa and beach resort. It is situated north of Akbuk and has the sea to the front of the resort and spectacular mountains behind, covered in olive groves and pine trees. The resort has a choice of outdoor pools, tennis court, aqua slide, outdoor chess, pitch and putt, watersports, archery, children's club, spa and wellbeing centre. The resort has its own restaurant (April to October) and there are two small beach side cafes just outside of the resort offering breakfast, lunches and bbqs in the evening. The barbecued fish is pretty good! Visit the Temple of Apollo, Ephesus and Pamukale and the ancient town of Sirince. Top up your tan on a boat trip and have lunch on board - all very relaxing or you can snorkel when the boat anchors up at each bay. You can visit the beachside villages of Denizkoy and Yesilkent and go horseriding at Seahorse Village. Let's not forget the fantastic food and wine (fish and raki) to be had at home or in the restaurants and bars of Akbuk while watching the stunning sunsets. Regular water taxi to Altinkum, from the Resort jetty, for when you want a busier pace of life (some new open air discotheques have just opened) or why not take an evening trip into Bodrum from the Resort. The Byblos beach club has its own spa and beauty centre and there's a programme of entertainment for adults and children should any of you like to join in on any of the activities.

About Roz Puliston
Hi there. My name is Roz and I currently live in Winchester, whilst waiting for the sale of my property to complete. Once sold, I will then be able to continue my job in the Cote d'Azur. I grew up in (well at least my teenage years) Malaysia and developed the love of travelling, different cultures, food, etc. I was lucky enough to be introduced to Turkey in my younger years, but had only visited my parents who were working there at the time, for short holidays.
Roz Puliston purchased this villa in 2006
Why Roz Puliston chose Milas
I took a trip to Turkey in 2006 to specifically see Apollonium Spa & Beach Resort. To get to the resort we drove along a beautiful coastline with glistening turquoise waters and through hilly terrain covered in pine trees and olive groves. The scenery was breathtaking and for me the scene was set. We arrived at the 'resort'. The ground had not yet been marked out, and there was a seating area - large comfy fabulous cushions - and a layout of the project to be developed, just set out in front of the ocean. The central olive tree near the beach front encaptured me and later on in the day, a great ball of red sunshine seemed to fall down slowly into the sea beyond. I couldn't believe this view and now we can see it everytime we visit. The sunsets are truly amazing. People love the tranquility of the resort but you can easily make it as busy or as quiet as you like. There are organised tours to the historic sites, sunset cruises, day cruises, visit bodrum, take the boat across to Altinkum, go to a waterpark, hire a car and travel wherever the feeling takes you, or just travel by the local dolmus from the resort.
What makes this villa unique
I love the fact that there are 6 or so pools to swim in or laze around by. They are all in different areas of the resort and you can soak up the atmosphere in different places. There's an indoor pool with a health and beauty spa, so if you would like to unwind with a Turkish bath, it's there whenever you would like one. They open early and stay open until late, so it means that you can have your healthy treatments and still have a full day improving your suntan or exploring the area, etc. There's a children's club to keep the children entertained and there's also outdoor chess, crazy golf and a waterslide. Watersports too. There's also a hairdressing salon, mini grocery shop and jewellery shop. I love the Byblos Beach Bar and restaurant which is positioned right in front of the water's edge, so you can sip your cocktails or dine, whilst watching the sun going down. It really is a stunning view. Evening entertainment is also based in this area. The main restaurant offers fabulous Turkish breakfasts in addition to the normal buffet breakfasts offering specialities for all nationalities. In the evenings, there are often themed dinners. I just love this resort. I have found in the past that 4 days is enough to totally wind down and forget any of the stresses of the past. However, I love to have more time to spend there whenever possible. Venus 15 is towards the front of the resort and has a view over the sea from the patio and balcony - also from the downstairs bedroom although there may now be a palm tree or two in the way! The resort is pristine and the views are stunning!
