About this property

Cozy cabin, hot tub, sauna, trails, large kitchen

Our cabin has a large modern kitchen with slate floors, wine refrigerator, and all the amenities. The dining room table expands to seat six.

The great room/living room has a propane fireplace, smart TV with Dishnetwork, leather overstuffed couch with two matching leather chairs and ottomans.

The main bedroom is spacious with a sliding glass door out to the second story deck with a partial view of the mountains. It has its own bathroom with two vanities and slate floors. Bedroom No. 2 also has a sliding glass door onto the deck. Bedroom No. 3 is also roomy. All the beds are queen size with pillow top mattresses and high thread Pima sheets and down comforters.

The bathroom on the main floor is large with a slate floor and tub and shower.

There are two decks, one off the great room with a BBQ grill and chairs and table for meals, lounging, and enjoying the view. Stairs lead down to the fire pit area. (see below) The second deck is off the two upstairs bedrooms, also with comfy chairs to relax in and enjoy the trees all around.

Whatcom County currently does not allow open fires within 25 feet of anything burnable, including all the beautiful trees, so you would need to bring your portable propane fire pit. This applies to all the cabins in the Glacier area, and there are very few that meet the minimum setback.

We have a six person hot tub and a sauna large enough for 3 to 4.

The gated community of Snowline has a baseball field, basketball court, pickleball court, playground for the kids, and a small pond. It is a very safe community, with an on-site manager who patrols the area throughout the day and night. There are hiking trails within a short walk from the cabin. The roads in Snowline are paved and perfect for kids to ride bikes or scooters.

And we are only 15 miles from Mt. Baker Ski area!

We do everything we can to keep fast, reliable internet service, including a mesh system throughout the cabin. Technology being what it is for a cabin in the woods, occasionally the wifi will go down. There is also wifi at the Snowline Community Clubhouse, which is less than a half mile from the cabin, and at Chair 9 restaurant, also less than a half mile away.

We have a Pack-and-Play and high chair available when requested ahead of time.

We have a small apartment attached on the side of the cabin that we occasionally stay in when we have to be in Snowline. It is only used by my husband and I. We never rent it. We have our own driveway on the back of the cabin separate from the two driveways for guests, and our own entrance that is not visible from the front of the cabin. If we happen to be there, we will let the guests know, otherwise you would probably never know we are there. But if you do need anything, we are happy to help.

great cozy cabin with lots of personality
great location, important amenities such as hot tub, fully furnished kitchen. Small detail need some attention such as missing coffee in the morning, or a lighter. But the whole experience was awesome.

Fantastic amenities!! Excellent host.
We loved the sauna and hot tub!! Super cozy house. We went snowshoeing and hiking in between cozying up and playing games in the house. Host was very helpful and communicative — even went above and beyond to return an item I left at the house. Loved our stay!!

Great cabin
Had a wonderful time. Would have loved more snow and colder weather but you get what you get. This place is great for 6. We frequented the sauna and hot tub. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a great home with a lot of amenities. The home is as advertised and clean and comfortable. The hot tub and sauna were great after a day of skiing. Communication with Sharon was always quick and accurate.

About the host

We are lifelong Snohomish County, Washington residents where we raised our son and daughter. We have always spent our time outside, either skiing, hiking, boating, or cycling. We love Washington and all the outdoor activities.
We have traveled all over the world staying in VRBO properties where we have met and spent time with interesting hosts and travelers. We always say the fun people travel this way, and it is true with the guests that have stayed in our cabin.

Why they chose this property

We skiied at Mt. Baker for years before we purchased our cabin. So we knew how incredible the skiing is, and how short the lift lines are. We thought we were purchasing a ski/snowboard cabin, but we enjoy the hiking and biking and the beautiful spring, summer and fall mountains just as much. And now our kids and grandkids love coming to the Big Buck Lodge.

What makes this property unique

Our cabin is special because it is big enough for family and friends all at one time. Kids and grand kids love our hot tub, the outdoor pool, the playground equipment, playing ball in the huge grassy field, playing air hockey and ping pong in the clubhouse, shooting hoops, playing tennis and pickleball, riding bikes through the community, the fire pit, and the short hike to the river. The outside deck is a favorite for families and BBQ's in the spring, summer and fall. Because of recent strict restrictions imposed by Whatcom County on outdoor fires, our fire pit can only be used if you bring your own portable gas fire pit bowl to sit in our existing fire pit. Kind of a hassle, but everyone loves a campfire. Relaxing in the sauna or hot tub after all the outdoor activities Mt. Baker has to offer is a great way to end the day.
