What a view!
Vilma was a pleasure to communicate with leading up to our stay. The home was immaculate and clean with one of the world's best views. No complaints at all, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend.
A wonderful, peaceful location and a very comfortable house.
We have just returned from a wonderful week at Villa Perka. We were a large group of 3 families with children ranging from 9 to 18. The configuration of the property worked perfectly for us - teenagers had their own space and the adults were able to congregate sociably! Vilma and her family were extremely helpful and the house was kept very clean and tidy. The village is very quiet but it has 2 great restaurants, a bakery and a small shop so there is no need to stray too far! Hvar town is only about 15km away but beware the hairpin bends of the unpaved road - quite a scary experience! Local beaches are small and stony but beautiful.
My only small criticisms are that there isn't air conditioning in all the rooms and where there is it can. E temperamental! Also the deck around the pool area is small and there are insufficient sunloungers for a group of 16.
But all in all a fabulous holiday in a lovely property.
Thanks for your review, tips and suggestions. Best regards from all of us!
Fantastic location, stunning views!
We stayed at Villa Perka as a group of 14 and had a truly fantastic week! The position, views and gardens were all amazing... the pool area was perfect for the children to play and adults to sunbathe, both local restaurants were really good with the added bonus of local wines from the surrounding vineyards! The apartments were all spacious and very clean.... I would love to go back and miss my morning coffee looking out to sea!
Thank you very much Lucy. Feel free to contact me any time regarding the "property discussion" we had...will try to help as much as I can... Best regards to you and the rest of the family!
Amazing view and very nice location!
The host was great. Charming place with local restaurants and wine. The swimming pool and the outdoor area was wonderful for the whole family! We enjoyed our stay and will defenetly come back. We would recommend this place, we lived several families together and the place was great for social activities.
Best regards from Norway!
Villa Perka is situated in the charming, picturesque village of Sv.Nedjelja, Hvar's most important vineyard region. A home to the first Grand cru in Croatia, Zlatan Otok winery, one of Croatia's finest producers is five minutes walk from the villa. In it's immediate vicinity there are numerous fixed free-climbing paths, destinations of many lovers of this sport from all over the world. Few minutes walk from the villa there's also a small grocery shop and two waterside restaurants that serve local dishes and excellent vines. There are many more very good restaurants few minutes drive away. Halfway to the peak of St. Nicholas that offers amazing views over the sea and surrounding islands, there's a cave with the remains of monastery built in 1605.
The villa is perched mid-way up the hills, surrounded by vineyards to the sides, the cobalt sea below and the cave and St.Nicholas peak to the back. It is free of buildings around, completely fenced with it's own private garden spread across 2000 square meters and therefore particularly attractive to tourists in search of peaceful and relaxing holidays. The location is also perfect for those looking for beautiful little coves with fine pebble beaches where you can find some privacy. The private parking lot is in front of the house. All villa apartments are with separate entrance and glass doors that allow light to flow through the house creating the relaxed feel and enabling you to enjoy the view even while sitting in the living room.
This traditional stone villa is ideal for those whishing to spend relaxing holidays in a very tranquil enviroment, surrounded by brathtaking natural beauty.

About Vilma Plazonja
Our villa on Hvar island was built in the 1930’s by our grandparents, both of whom were born on the island. At that time the family was engaged in wine production and olive cultivation. However, beekeeping was the mainstay of the family’s livelihood for years. Our grandfather was a leading member of a number of beekeeping associations in Croatia over the years, at both the regional and national levels, and he wrote expert articles for the magazine „Bee“ which was issued in the former state. When first built, the villa was actually on the outskirts of the village, but over the last 30+ years, since the village has expanded to the south, to it’s coastal section, we are now right in the middle – between the northern – old part and southern – new part of the village, owning the only property in the area set on such a large plot of land. We are very much grateful to our grandparents for choosing this location on Hvar island to build their home, for we consider the location itself to be one of it’s main advantages.
Vilma Plazonja purchased this Villa in 1930
Why Vilma Plazonja chose Jelsa
In planning both the interior and exterior of Villa Perka, we devoted a lot of care to designing a warm and cosy island ambience, an environment characterized by privacy and hominess. That is why our guests feel good and relaxed while staying with us. Many of them fall in love with the area and the island and therefore return here to spend their holidays over and over again. Eversince we started to rent our place back in 1960es to the guests from all over the world, many of them bougt properties on the island and are now visiting Hvar several times a year.
What makes this Villa unique
Apart from quite location, far from Hvar's hustle and bustle, amazing view can be enjoyed throughout Villa Perka. Entire surrounding area has been fenced off with a stone wall. Just as you enter the gate you arrive at the parking lot with 5-6 parking spaces, shaded by old pine trees. On a plateau only a few stairs below there is a 160 square metre children’s playground equipped with a slide, two swings, ladders, trampoline and a seasaw. The pathway to the west leads to the outdoor common area – the highlight of the villa which boasts a 10×4 m swimming pool, a sundeck furnished with sun loungers, a porch with dining area and BBQ for preparing and enjoying meals right on the terrace surrounded by olive groves and lush Mediterranean vegetation. Next to the pool there is also U-pick herb garden where our guests have 15 kinds of herbs to use for preparing tea or for cooking. The entire space is super private with no neighbours overlooking the area, ideal for those wishing to relax and feel close to nature.
