Nearly one-half acre of the house's original property remains, providing visitors with charming gardens, outdoor entertaining spaces, a luxury spa, a boutique vineyard, and the farm's original water tankhouse. Simply a beautiful vacation boutique getaway right in the heart of the Sonoma Valley! The property offers a remodeled two bedroom farmhouse that accommodates 4 adults and an adjoining guest cottage which sleeps two additional adults. All this included in one price.

Just a quick walk to shops, museums, historic sites and world-class restaurants, you can spend each day at your own pace. Art and antique window shopping, spa massages, superb food and wine, are all only blocks away from this unique property.

Centrally located in the heart of the California wine country, within easy reach of the Sonoma Valley, Napa Valley, the vineyards of Santa Rosa, Healdsburg, and the Russian River, and even the bustle and excitement of San Francisco, this lovely and charming farmhouse can be your home base for a fantastic, relaxed, and authentic California experience.


A $35 laundry room access fee is charged for all visits less than 3 days.

An additional $700 Refundable Security Deposit is required and is billed to your credit card 10 days in advance of your arrival and refunded by check via mail after inspection of house and grounds.

Note: Owner's private hot tub remains locked during your stay and is not an advertised feature of this property.

RENTAL AGREEMENT - A complete rental agreement can be obtained from the rental manager Bob McDonald, and through this listing. A COMPLETED RENTAL AGREEMENT INCLUDING CREDIT CARD INFORMATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE BOOKING APPROVAL. The following is a summary of the Cancellation and Occupancy/Noise Policies of the agreement:

Cancellations: Either party may cancel the rental up to 45 days prior to the arrival date. There is a $50 administrative fee if you cancel your reservation in whole and part. If you cancel the rental in whole or part on shorter notice than 45 days, and if we are unable to re-book the Sonoma Farmhouse for all or part of your confirmed stay at the same rate, we will retain any Rental Deposit as liquidated damages as required to pay such applicable rate. There is no refund of final rent payment for cancellations 10 days prior to your arrival, unless of course we are able to re-book the Sonoma Farmhouse for all of your confirmed stay at the same rate. There is no refund of rent for an early departure. You agree and acknowledge that we (Sonoma Farmhouse) may exercise our judgement, in our sole discretion, in seeking re-booking of the premises, should you cancel any part of your reservation, and that we are not obligated to accept persons other than those specifically listed below as substitutes for your rental of the property.

Occupancy and Noise: You agree as signee that you will be present and occupy the property during your stay at the property and be the point person responsible for its care and compliance with any conditions of use.

You agree that you shall leave the premises in the same order as you found them and that you shall not exceed the number of guests identified in the agreement. If more than the agreed number of persons are found to occupy the unit or property, or if abnormal utility cost are incurred, or if excessive cleanup or garbage removal is required, or if broken glass is found in or near a pool, additional charges for such persons, utilities, garbage removal and additional maid service/pool service will be charged and deducted from the Security Deposit (or credit card). You shall nevertheless be fully responsible for any damage to the premises in excess of the Security Deposit, plus reasonable costs of collection, including reasonable attorneys' fees, if necessary. Damage caused by your guests or invitees (including but not limited to excessive cleaning or damage to the property, fixtures, appliances, linens or furnishings) shall be your financial responsibility as renter. You SHALL NOT HOST special events or gatherings at the Sonoma Farmhouse involving more than your immediate party, as numerated and listed on the signed rental agreement, and shall not conduct any events or activities that might interfere with the peace and enjoyment of the property's neighbors, including any significant noise after 9 pm at night. If you are found entertaining more guests than approved by us in your rental contract without our prior permission, or are creating significant noise after 9 p.m., you will be asked to vacate the property immediately, and with forfeit the remainder of your rental as well as the security deposit.

Bob McDonald is part owner and property manager for Sonoma Farmhouse which includes Sonoma Farmhouse Town in Sonoma, Sonoma Farmhouse Country in Kenwood, and now the newly renovated Sonoma Farmhouse Ranch house in Sonoma.

Bob has been managing Sonoma Farmhouse since 2004.

Bob's background and education is in Urban Planning and Landscape Design. He has a local landscape design business, and has professionally landscaped and lovingly restored each of the Sonoma Farmhouse properties, including the Ranch home.

Bob is active in Sonoma, volunteering for the City of Sonoma Planning Commission, and is a member of the Sonoma Chamber of Commerce, the Sonoma Historic Society and the Sonoma Valley Visitor's Bureau. Bob makes sure that every property detail is taken care for your visit at Sonoma Farmhouse Ranch, including the maintenance and production of Sonoma Farmhouse brand wines.

The property and home offers both a main two-bedroom two-bath home for groups but also provides a detached guest cottage for couples who want to visit friends but have private and distinctive sleeping quarters.

Where can you find a charming 1890's victorian bungalow on 1/2 acre of land with a vineyard, tank house, separate cottage, and 2 blocks from Sonoma Plaza? The location was perfect, the house was clean and well maintained and the back garden and vineyard was fantastic! If you lived in San Diego, I would hire your landscaping firm to do my backyard. We were all really impressed with what you did with the space. It felt really relaxing and magical out there. The flowers, the trees, the fruit, the walkways the lights....really perfect. Nice job! By the way, what is that structure in the middle of the backyard? Were were also wondering what you did with your grapes. Do you make your own wine? Thanks again. Great spot for a Sonoma visit. Close to everything and the accommodations were top of the line.

Great stay at the Farmhouse- communication with the owner Bob and the accommodations were fantastic. Location was perfect for hanging out in Sonoma or hitting the nearby wineries. Would highly recommend and will stay here SFSU in the future.

Cool spot right near the square

This is an old farmhouse, so even though it's well maintained and comfortable, do not expect the latest and greatest.

We stayed here for a week over Thanksgiving with our two adult children and it worked out great. The place is well stocked with everything you need, the beds are comfortable and the location is perfect. The kitchen is tiny, but we cooked breakfast almost every day and used the oven, stove top and outside grill a couple of times with no problems.

I loved the back yard with it's vines and welcoming deck.

We would certainly stay here again.

Wonderful getaway weekend

The house is simply stunning and beautiful right in the downtown area, walking distance from any place. If our group of 6 wasn't at a winery, we were out on the back patio enjoying the view. The house looks exactly like the pictures. I was a little frustrated with the owner when he thought we were supposed to be leaving Sunday when in fact Monday and sent me texts while enjoying my time at wineries. I tried to contact him in the middle of our tour but he only communicates through text messages. This doesn't affect my stars because the house really was perfect other than the hick up miscommunication. I'm sure it won't happen again.

Loved Sonoma!

This property is very close to downtown Sonoma, which we loved! It is called the farmhouse and it is very old, but it is on a residential street, about 3 blocks from downtown. It was clean and comfortable, but you feel like you are in you grandma's house!!! Not necessarily bad, if you like that type of thing. The outdoor living space was fabulous. Our group of 3 couples spent a good amount of time on the deck. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!!!

Perfect get-away!

This is the perfect spot to enjoy Sonoma...close to the square yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. The grounds are absolutely beautiful.
