About Kathleen

I grew up in Pennslyvania and went to PSU for both undergrad and grad school. I've lived in Stroudsburg for the last 25 years as an artist and real estate manager.

Kathleen purchased this cabin in 1999

Why Kathleen chose Cresco

This property has been my retreat for the last 10 years where I go to read, eat, and do my photography. I love to sleep with the windows open and listen to the waterfalls...I have been spending more of my time in New York, so I felt that I should share this lovely place with those who appreciate a touch of nature.

What makes this cabin unique

I have provided lawn chairs, water shoes and rubber boots of all sizes, because I love to place my chair in the creek and I want my friends to be able to join me. Sometimes we find a flat rock and use that as our table for the cheese and crackers. It is a great place for coffee in the morning, and wine in the evening. Both summer and winter, just keep your feet out of the water once you are sitting, otherwise they get cold! I have warmed my toes many times in front of the fire while sitting in the rocking chair.

Rustic setting, perfect for relaxing and recovering from a hectic schedule

  • 5 of 5

We had pleasantly warm spring sunshine during the day and nice, cool temperatures at night during our stay. So we were outside on the decks and the screened-in porch , especially in the afternoon, and enjoyed the use of the hot tub and the fireplace at night. We loved the sound of the stream, which had been fed by recent rains. I especially loved the afternoon sunlight shimmering off the water! If you like a quiet mountain retreat, this is the place for you.

Winter Wonderland

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay at Streamside Cabin. The home was very cozy and had everything we needed for our extended weekend stay. With so much snow after the recent storms, the driveway and entrances were cleared so we didn't have any trouble getting in. I do wish the description of the home mentioned the amount of stair climbing required to get into the home as 3 of the 5 people in our party have severe joint problems. This made moving in and out a little more challenging than we had expected. Otherwise, we all had a great time, including our dog. The gas log fireplace kept the whole house warm, and we had a great time outside in the snow. The small town was conveniently a short drive away. Would definitely go back again!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I’m very glad you enjoyed your stay. I had the house raised due to our close proximity to the creek. It also gave us a better view! My best!

Nice Winter Adventure

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 6 adults really enjoyed the long weekend at the house.

The place is clean and spacious. Hot tub looks brand-new and spotless. Furniture is comfortable and cozy.

We really enjoyed the back yard view of the stream especially after it snowed.

I recommend bringing some basics like salt, dish washer soap, sponges, extra roll of TP, good chefs knife, kitchen towels with you.

The interior and exterior of the cabin are beautiful. However, the stairs in the front and in back of home do not have lights. I should say the lights are there but do not work. We called the contact number after arriving but she couldn't tell us how to operate them. We tried everything to turn them on. We were going out our second night there when I fell down the front stairs. This resulted in a broken rib, a back and neck injury, and an ankle sprain. Needless to say, we had to leave early! When we reported this to the contact, all I got was an I'm sorry. If you rent this property, please be very careful using both sets of stairs.

Great Family Weekend in the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

My family and I didn't get to take a vacation this summer as we were moving. We decided to book a last minute weekend away in the Poconos for some quiet family time. It was very easy to book and Joann was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. The house was very charming and cozy. We really enjoyed fishing in the stream during the day and our campfires into the evening. The hot tub was the perfect way to unwind with a glass of wine right before we hit the sack. The only thing we would've wanted was a few more days! Would definitely stay here again. :)

Perfect! This beautiful home was exactly what I needed to get away and recharge the batteries. Quiet and peaceful and just secluded enough. The stream provides the perfect background and sound to allow you to just relax.
