This elegantly updated art nouveaux style apartment was built in the 1920’s by the architect Jorge Bvnge: light wells to every room, Estonian oak parquetry floors and high ceilings with moulded cornices. Situated in a quiet street of the 'Diplomatic' area, this spacious apartment (175sq metres) sleeps up to 7 people including four bedrooms and three and half bathrooms. Other features include a lift and very spacious living areas. Free Wi-fi


Both rooms have new furniture, traditional Argentine leather lounge and chairs, marble dining table, flooded with natural light. Wireless internet. There is central heating and fans in all rooms.


Spacious completely renovated with microwave, electric oven/stove, fridge and freezer, automatic dishwasher, washing machine, central island bench and art deco porcelain black and white floor tiles. It is fully equipped with all cooking utensils.


One new king size bed ( can be split into 2 singles),television, 2 bedside tables with lights a wardrobe and luxury bedding. Central heating and fan. An ensuite bathroom, new marble, porcelain tiles with shower, bath and window to the light well.


One queen size bed, 2 bed side tables with lights, television ,luxury bedding, a walk in wardrobe and central heating and fan. Ensuite with brand new bathroom with shower and bath, ceramics and marble finish and window to light well.

We bought his property because of our love for Tango dancing in Buenos Aires. It is very central to the city allowing easy access to everything.We have a wonderful manager Clara. The apartment building was built in a time when BA had many European architects and was thriving in the 1930's.The apartment has a beautiful modern renovation. Some of the things we like to do nearby include exploring the antique auctions in Buenos Aires, sitting in Plaza San Martin, Tango classes, Milongas,Shoe shopping at Comme il Faut and Shopping in Avenue Santa Fe and Floridae.

Sargento Cabral is a quiet street in the middle of Buenos Aires in the diplomatic area, within easy walking distance of Avenida Santa Fe, Plaza St Martin, Retiro train station,the Teatro Colon and Floridae street. It is very central to many tango Milongas in BA.

Wow! What a great location? I enjoyed exploring Buenos Aires on foot from this central apartment.We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was a treat staying in such a beautiful place. I can recommend it to anyone. Clara was very helpful and it was very secure.

Luxury apartment at a very convenient location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this luxury apartment. The apartment has everything you would need for a prolonged stay in Buenos Aires. The fully equipped kitchen had allowed us to prepare our own meals as two in our party had special dietary requirements and getting gluten free food wasn't easy in Buenos Aires. The apartment is at a very quiet street in a very good location close to Subte and Calle Florida. Highly recommend the apartment to anyone visiting Buenos Aires.

Great apartment

We have rented many apartments in Buenos Aires over the years and this has become our favorite. It has a great location, near everything. And despite being in the middle of it all it's very quiet. Most apartments we have rented in the past had at least some type of issue with noise from outside. Not here, it's quieter than out suburban home in the states!

It is very ample, bigger than I expected based on the photos. There are three full bathrooms and two bedrooms en suite. Very comfortable. And a great living room area if you want to entertain.

About the only drawback I can think of is that it is a little dark. But that's common issue in many BA apartments.

The owners are great and very responsive. We really enjoyed our stay here.

We enjoyed our time in this beautiful apartment. It is the perfect location to explore Buenos Aires. We felt safe and comfortable and found everything we needed.

The owners were very reassuring, answered all our questions and made booking easy. Clara the manager was available and very helpful. Andreas the driver picked us up from the airport for a reasonable rate. They both spoke good English.

I do not hesitate to recommend this apartment to you.

No air conditioning.

My husband and I stayed for 8 days,in December which is the summer in Argentina. The location of the apartment was very good, that was about it..Be aware that this apartment has no air conditioning which was a mistake I made and with temperatures in the high 80's and into the 90's the ceiling fans did not help. The average temperature at night was 84 degrees Fahrenheit.If you wanted to open the windows at night , also be aware there is a common area on the main floor that connects to other apartment buildings, therefore noise can become a problem as it did for us. Someone had puppies outside night and day and for one reason or another they did not like being outside and whined and barked all the time. If you are a heavy sleeper this would not be a problem, however it was a problem for us. Then the showers, pressure was ok, however the temperature would not maintain itself. It was either extremely hot or cold. Just so you know.This is a very old apartment so these things can be considered normal , but it was still a hassle.I will write one more comment and this was in regards to booking in advance, I had indicated in March of 2016 that our son could not commit to coming , therefore it would only be the two of us. But that was not sufficient enough or worded well enough to not charge us for two extra people even though they were not there. So , if you are booking this apartment, be sure you know the exact number of people staying or you will be charged. The owner took two words out of my contents, (cannot commit to stay) that this was not saying they were not coming, therefore I had to pay , even though if you read the rest of my comments , I said that I will advise if they were coming and of course pay the additional cost. This meant nothing, so because it was last minute we did not want to change and paid the additional 70 dollars a night. The owner did give us a break on 3 days but that was it. You would think they would want repeat customers but that was not the case. The apartment is large and very nicely arranged. Kitchen is good, but we did not use it. In the end we managed .

Owner's Response: We are very sorry Donna didn’t enjoy our apartment. We love it! We didn’t enjoy the experience either. We did our very best to look after Donna: there were 21 emails between us and at least another 10 to our manager. Even though this apartment has been tastefully renovated it retains the beauty and charm of a bygone time; ceiling fans are part of the romantic experience. Our VRBO listing does not include air-conditioning. We do have central heating. Greater Buenos Aires has a population of 13 million people. We have no busses or traffic going past and we are in the quiet refined ‘diplomatic’ part of the city. Donna and her husband booked our luxurious historic 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom apartment for 4 people over the busy Christmas period. We do not charge extra over this period but when the two sons decided not to come (two weeks before their arrival) Donna wanted us to drop the price. As a compromise we did give her a price for 3 people (one person free) but for Donna this was not enough.

Spacious apartment in great location.

This spacious apartment is located in a fabulous location. Our group of 3 couples from Edmonton, Canada found it very convenient to walk to many of the attractions in Buenos Aires. Subway and bus service, if needed, is close by and it is easy to flag down one of the many taxis. The apartment is large with plenty of room for the 6 of us. We did not cook in very much, other than breakfast and the odd light lunch/dinner, but the kitchen is fully equipped for those who wish to do so. There is plenty of dining and living space so that we never felt crowded. Grocery shopping as well as many restaurants and specialty food shops are all within a few minutes walk. Thank you to Clara, Noelia and Andres for their assistance in getting us from the airport to the apartment, introducing us to the apartment and area and promptly responding to any questions or concerns we had during our stay. All in all, a great vacation rental.

Wonderful location and beautiful apartment

What a great place. We had so much space and loved returning to our quiet street at the end of the evening. Nice little coffee shop on the corner and all of Recoleta right out the door. Management was great and easy to work with . This apartment is very big and spacious. Everything is new and updated. A wonderful place to stay in BA

PALACIO SAN MARTIN : Formal headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, this building was the residence of the Anchorena family. The main entrance is on Arenales street, with a huge iron and bronze bar facade, in Bourbon style. In general, the building is considered the model, adopted by the richest estates in the country at the turn of the century.
