The home is very private, quiet and situated on an acre of lush landscaped land with flowers and fruit trees that are intrinsic to well being. Red 'Ohana is classic Hawaiian style architecture with wide hip roofs and a large open covered lanai, the perfect spot to enjoy your cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at sunset.

Waimea town is the best central location to explore everything from the nature of the Big Island ecology to the future of the universe at the Mauna Kea Observatory and of course the best beaches on the island are just minutes away.

Delightful stay in Waimea

We stayed in the 3 bedroom/ 2 bath Red Ohana property. The home is spacious, spotless, and includes all the amenities we needed. Laura is a great hostess. Checkin was seamless- we just walked in! Location was the prime reason I chose Red Ohana. The best white sand beaches are minutes away.

Beautiful stay

We rented the Ref Ohana 3 bedroom. It was spacious and comfortable. The beds were great. The kitchen and eating area were great for a group. The patio was beautiful. I’d definitely stay here again.

Mountain air, close to the beach

Red 'Ohana has it all: a rural setting a short drive from the Kohala beaches (we preferred Spencer state park to the better known and larger Hapuna), less than 40 mins to Waipio Valley (the shuttle, the only way to get down, is definitely worth it). The house is very comfortable, awesomely well-equipped kitchen, very quiet Owner is super nice - lives a few houses away.

Our property is both spacious and private, and the O"hanas were the original Parker Ranch caretakers' quarters. Once you explore the island, you will appreciate the mild, temperate climate. The property atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful. Your access to Waimea town is a 5 minute drive and access to beautiful beaches is an easy, scenic 8 minute drive. It would be difficult to find a property with all of features and amenities for the same price elsewhere on the island. Sometimes local residents stay with us for their weekend getaway. Many parents stay with us when visiting their children who attend Hawaii Preparatory Academy and Parker Ranch School.
