Casa Cedro is a modern luxury 4 double bedroom villa overlooking the 10th fairway of Nuevo Portil golf course. It is furnished inside and out to a very high standard, with seating for 8 in a spacious lounge, complete with satellite TV and stereo and a dining area to accommodate 8 people.
Two sets of patio doors open onto the garden, pool and outside dining areas with garden chairs and tables, recliners and BBQ facilities.
On the ground floor there are 3 double bedrooms with twin beds, ( 1 with en-suite shower room ), a family bathroom, separate toilet, a fully equipped kitchen with cutlery and crockery for 12 people and a living/dining room.
The upstairs principal bedroom has twin beds, en-suite shower room and a large roof terrace overlooking the golf course.
The front of the villa has secure off-road parking for 2 cars and a main entrance leads onto an enclosed courtyard which provides a safe play area for children and is also equipped for alfresco dining.
Beach: The beach is a 10 to 15 minute walk away and has miles of golden sand.
There is a long spit of land offshore running parallel with the coast which is accessible by water ferry and creates a natural sheltered lagoon for boating and watersports.
Having stayed at Casa Cedro before, we were not disappointed! The villa is light and airy with plenty of space and privacy for our two families and all mod cons you could ever need. The outside space is ideal for dining and sunbathing, or for a game of boules on the lawn! The service provided by welcome staff, cleaners and pool/gardener is superb and we felt very well looked after.
El portil centre is a short walk away, with many bars and restaurants so the location of Casa Cedro could not be better, privately situated overlooking a golf course, but near enough to local facilities. Try the Surf Bar on the beach and it's sister property, the Surf Chef, which both provide great food and drinks. At weekends the centre is bustling with Spanish holidaymakers which adds to the atmosphere, with restaurants still serving food well into the late evening.
All in all, a fantastic villa, beautifully furnished and located in an ideal holiday resort. What more could you wish for?
Casa Cedro exceeded by far the commendations of friends and is even more beautiful than the photographs, which cannot convey its fabulous location adjacent to a very quiet golf course, nor the airiness and spaciousness of the villa, both inside and out.
I would guess the villa must be less than two years old and the furnishings, equipment, accommodation and good-sized swimming pool are all perfect. I cannot recall our ever wanting for or needing anything: whether kitchen utensils, guide books, DVDs or CDs of Spanish guitar music, everything just seemed to be there.
We visited Casa Cedro as a group of three couples for a short break at the end of May and enjoyed sensational weather throughout. The villa is located in El Portil, in a very unspoilt corner of Spain, about an hour or so by car from Faro Airport and roughly the same from Sevilla, which is well-worth visiting and to savour. As is El Rocio, a quirky liitle town with sandy streets on the edge of the wonderful Donana National Park which is brilliant for wildlife, particularly birds.
We also explored more locally from the villa where there are some great trails through the pine woods, as well as along the very sheltered sandy beach to the nearby very Spanish village/town of El Rompido.
In El Portil, within walking distance of Casa Cedro, are several small bars and restaurants, as well as grocery stores for basic needs, and there is a choice of major supermarkets a short drive away. Whilst we ate out on several occasions, we also enjoyed some historic BBQs on the patio, overlooking the golf course, as the sun was setting, where the only sounds to be heard were the gentle clink of the ice cubes in the gin and tonic glasses, the sizzle of the Doradas grilling on the BBQ and the twittering of a family of swallows nesting under the eaves: totally unforgettable!
It is a truly magical and restful place, but in addition to the recommendations highlighted, I could imagine Casa Cedro being a great base for a group of golfing chums, or probably for twitchers, like me, who want to visit the wonderful Donana NP for birdwatching.
I cannot recommend it highly enough.
We (5 adults) spent two very happy and relaxed weeks here in June. Daily temperature 30°-35°, no clouds, only blue sky. Having an air condition was very comfortable. The sleeping rooms were cooled down when we came home from beach and for sleeping we switched it off.The villa is perfect for a family or a mixed group of people having all the facilities required. It is is beautifully furnished and includes all the amenities required,The owners had obviously thought of everything to ensure we felt at home. We are golfers and enjoyed the direct place at hole 10. The golf court is very interessting and in summertime the greenfee costs 30,00 € when you buy 10 greenfees. Onetime greenfee was between 32- 35 €. Trolley costs 4€. Summer special: 2 persons greenfee and a electro car: 92,-€. Some days we have been the only people on the court. It was very relaxing and peaceful to sit out in our garden under the new sunsail at night with the view of the golf course. We also recommend EL Rompido Golf (10 minutes by car) and Isantilla Golf Resort (20-30 minutes by car
We definitely recommend this villa and area of Spain. There are so many safe beaches to choose from which are very close by. There is also a huge Carrefour about 10kms away which has everything you could possibly imagine. Faro airport is also very accessible.
The pool has a good size and the pooltemperature was perfect. The garden has plenty of sunbathing and relaxing areas, complete with table, chairs, sunbeds and BBQ. We ate at the local Spanish restaurants which are a 10-15 minutes walk away from the Villa. The beach is approx 1km away . This is an ideal base if you are looking to visit Seville which is 1 hrs drive north , or Portugal/Faro which is 1 hrs drive west. We would highly recommend this villa for your holiday.

My family and I spent a very happy and relaxed week here in June. The sun shone every day for us, which apparently is very typical for this area, and the evenings were beautifully warm. The villa was perfect for a family having all the facilities we required. The owners had obviously thought of everything to ensure we felt at home. We are not golfers and have never stayed on a golf resort but we would definitely do it again. It was very relaxing and peaceful to sit out in our garden at night with the view of the golf course.
I would definitely recommend this villa and area of Spain if you have a young family. There are so many safe beaches to choose from which are very close by. There is also a huge Carrefour about 10kms away which has everything you could possibly imagine. Faro airport is also very accessible.
We spent a wonderful week in September with friends at this spacious and well equipped villa, the owners having provided everything necessary to ensure a very comfortable holiday. We flew into Faro airport and the journey to Nuevo Portil was quick and easy taking just over an hour. The villa is situated in a quiet area and yet it is within easy walk of the shops and restaurants (approximately 10 minutes) with the beautiful beach a short distance further. We played several rounds of golf at the Nuevo Portil Golf course making use of the special rates available. The pretty town of El Rompido is a short drive away with many restaurants, shops and a golf course which we hope to play on our next visit. The owners have left maps and lots of information regarding places of local interest and this is an ideal base for exploring this part of southern Spain. We would definitely recommend this villa and are planning our return visit next year.
This is without doubt a most beautifully styled and well maintained villa with luxurious furnishings and fittings. My wife and I and 4 friends spent a wonderful week at Casa Cedro with its tranquil surroundings.
The sandy beaches are within a 2 minute drive and the adjacent golf club provide discounts for holiday occupiers.
There is plenty of information, provided by the owners, featuring local attractions, restaurants, shops etc and dealing with them personally was a pleasure.
Each morning we would have a lazy breakfast within the privacy of the walled courtyard and discuss the day's itinerary followed by a refreshing shower in one of the well appointed bathrooms. A brisk walk along the nearby beach followed by a trip to the local town El Rompido to shop for provisions and have lunch in one of the pleasant bars. Occasionally we would reserve a table for evening diner in one of the many beach side restaurants which provide exceptional value for money.
Sometimes we would spend tanning time on the villa's sun loungers in the large garden with it's spacious patio and dip in and out of the pool when the sun dictated. BBQ's in the warm evenings with friends were a great favourite or we would just relax watching a DVD of our choice in the comfortable lounge.
Indeed we would have to class Casa Cedro and its location as our new favourite holiday destination. We have already booked several days in September this year and can't wait to return.
The villa is situated within the Nuevo Portil Campo de Golf overlooking the 10th fairway of the golf course.
The long sandy beaches and beautiful climate this area offers makes it the perfect location for families and golfers, there are 9 golf courses within half an hour drive.
All the golf courses in this area offer excellent value for money at a fraction of the cost of those on the nearby Algarve and the 2 nearby hotels offer spa/fitness facilities.
Nuevo Portil Golf Resort blends into the small town of El Portil, which has shops, restaurants and supermarkets.
For the younger folk there is a Karting track and water park and night life in Punta Umbria 15 minutes away.
The fishing village of El Rompido is a 5 minute drive along the coast with excellent fish restaurants, a marina and 2 golf courses. In Huelva, which is 20 minutes away, numerous shops and a historic old centre can be found.
The Donana National Park lies within 1 hour drive offering a variety of birds and wildlife
Other Activities: bird watching / nature
Golf: The villa is located front line on the Nuevo Portil golf course with the clubhouse 5 minutes drive away.
Other local golf courses include El Rompido ( 2 courses ), Islantilla (27 holes), Isla Canela, Bellavista and Costa Esuri. Castro Marim and Quinta do Vale are just across the border in Portugal.
