About Marie Dingfelder

We are Alan and Marie Dingfelder. We have been married for 51 years and have 2 grown children and 1 grandson. We both grew up in Corry, PA and moved to North East 40 years ago. We live next door to the property. We are calling our vacation rental a guest house because that's just what it is. We have a pretty small house and when we have company from out of town, it is hard to know where to put them. When we renovated the property, we decided it would be a good idea to no longer rent it full time but to use it for our visiting family and guests. We like the results so much that we may at some point decide to move in there ourselves. We have settled on A & M Guest House for the name of the property. We would be happy to have you as our guests.

Why Marie Dingfelder chose North East

There are some beautiful properties here in North East. Although our guest house is not on the beach, we think it is in a great location. We are about 3 miles out of North East and only 15 or 20 minutes from Erie. The town of North East has a lot to offer in quaint shops and popular yearly events like the North East Cherry Festival in July, the Wine Fest, Rib Fest, and others. The property is private with off road parking. The drawback is we are located near a railroad crossing. People either love or hate the trains. If you hate them and the noise from them, you may want to avoid our place.

What makes this mobile home unique

Centrally located between North East and Erie, PA. Keep in mind North East is the name of the town, not the location. We are located in the northwest corner of Pennsylvania. This property is completely remodeled inside and out. There is always lots going on in this part of the country. Every season offers something new - summer and winter sports, entertainment, shopping, located in grape country. The property is on a large lot with lots of off road parking. You can be comfortable and assured of your privacy. Kind of like a little 'home away from home'.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful place. This was our first time to Pennsylvania and we loved fishing Lake Erie! We caught a few nice smallies to brag about! I left a picture for your future guests. Thank you

Clean well stock rental. We felt like we were at home

  • 5 of 5

It's was perfect. Plenty of room for 5 adults and the dog. The scenery surrounding the property was beautiful, especially with the light snow we had all weekend. We were given our privacy as well. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Owner's Response: Thank you Kayce, for the nice review. We certainly enjoyed having you next door. For 5 adults and a dog, you were certainly quiet. We always like to give our guests privacy - just the way we like it when we go on vacation. Please consider staying with us any time you come this way. Thank you for your kind words and for taking such good care of the place, and thank you for doing laundry. It surely helped me get ready for the next guests. It was much appreciated. Hope to see you again some day. P.S. we will be keeping our eyes open for your key and mail it back to you if we should find it.

Loved it! Perfect getaway. Nice home and owners.

Nothing but positive things to say. Came for a girls weekend and all five of us agree that we would come back! The owners were pleasant and thought of everything. The train came by multiple times but we found it amusing because we had to stop talking for 30 seconds (no easy task for five women lol). Close to everything. We went to the skunk and goat in North East and loved the food. Highly recommend this home.

Loved it here!

  • 5 of 5

We were in Erie for a weekend to attend a family function and I’m so glad that I found this house on HomeAway. It was perfect. It’s updated and well appointed. There is a great porch for relaxing that includes a grill, several places to sit and a nice view. The trains are indeed frequent and loud, but our kids loved them. The noise is nothing that a white noise machine couldn’t block. We will definitely be renting this property again. Marie and Alan are wonderful to work with. Super friendly and helpful with everything. Alan even offered to show our two year old his tractors! We can’t wait to return for a beach weekend at Presque Isle!

Owner's Response: Thank you Mike for your nice words about your stay at our place. I wish the weather would have been nicer for fishing. We try to promise good things but that’s one of the things we can’t guarantee. I hope I am able to meet you guys on your next trip. Thank you for taking good care of the place. Alan and I look forward to having you back. Have a wonderful summer and be sure to tell the other guys thanks for being good guests!

Great place, fantastic owners

  • 5 of 5

Rented this place with a couch me friends for steelhead fishing. Marie, the owner was providing me with weather updates due to the potential bad weather. The place was clean and roomy. It was well equipped with everything needed for a few days. Will definitely be renting this place again. One of our party left some shoes behind and Marie was kind enough to send them to me. Definitely recommend

Located in Historic North East, Pennsylvania, 1/4 mile south of Route 20, 5 minutes from downtown North East, 30 minutes from Erie Airport. Also about 5 minutes to the Moorheadville Airport: grass strip. Surrounded by grape vineyards on private, large lot. Awesome sunsets. Short distance from Lake Erie Beaches, Wineries, Presque Isle Downs Casino, Peak'n Peak Ski Resort, Lake Chautauqua, Lake Erie Speedway, Bayfront Convention Center, Tom Ridge Center, Presque Isle Peninsula, Waldameer Amusement Part, Splash Lagoon Water Park and more. Railroad tracks border the north side of the property, separated by a large field. Some days the trains are busy, some days we don't see them at all. If you are a train buff, the Lake Shore Railway Museum is just downtown. Minutes to Walmart, Giant Eagle, Bob Evans, Applebee's, Taco Bell and others. Local yearly attractions include the North East Cherry Festival and Wine Festival.
