Pulizia perfetta e casa in ottime condizioni.

Nice area but the villa not for us... sorry
Firstly we would like to thank you for letting us stay at your villa. Although we would like to say a few things that had an impact on our stay. We didn’t realise that it was on a bus route and on a quite busy road which when you are trying to relax by the pool it’s a bit off putting having a bus load of people stare at you. The pool area was overgrown and weeds growing up through the paving stones. For a family of 7 we found both the pool area and patio area was small and restricting. The fig trees which had been cut were just left at the bottom of the patio area and hadn’t been cleared away. While we were there we had an issue with the pool. We contacted the “managers” of the villa and after 24hrs of no response we had to contact the owner of the villa ( who lives in Portugal) direct to try and sort it out. We must admit Amy was very efficient and got someone out within 2-3 hours but after they came round we were told that the pool was out of action for yet another 24hrs so all in all 3 days we couldn’t use the pool. And it still wasn’t fixed by the time we left the villa. We were not advised that the house next door had scaffolding up and on a couple of mornings we were woken up to the sound of electronic hammers being used. We found it difficult to open all the windows and shutters to look at the spectacular view but because of the scaffolding we felt overlooked. The villa itself was very clean ,tidy and comfortable. The surrounding area and views were stunning with lots to see and do. We would return to the area again as we thoroughly enjoyed it but unfortunately not to the villa. Very sorry. Mr Mrs Wraith

Fabulous property, home from home, with the addition of stunning views and amazing sunshine!
Luckily GPS navigated us round the twists and impossibly steep turns which led to the house, apparently in the middle of nowhere! Amy had given us clear instructions for everything, including opening hours of the closest shop (which was open Sunday morning so we could relax about finding breakfast!). In fact, there was a welcome fridge full of basics so we would not have actually needed anything straight away anyway. The house, and kitchen in particular, had everything needed plus loads of bonus extras such as an extensive library of DVDs and books (all in English), some guide books and maps of local places of interest etc. This led us to visit the caves in Fasassi and the park avventura (equivalent to Go Ape- superb course criss crossing the river) as well as enjoying the spectacle of Pergola in all its medieval glory August 17th - pageantry, costumes, food, falconry, craft demonstrations etc etc. When we returned from that evening to discover we had managed to lock ourselves out (note to self - don't bolt both patio doors if you want to be able to unlock from outside!) We were lucky enough to be able to call on Giovanni, who drove up to rescue us with a big smile once we had managed to explain the problem. The pool provided a welcome spot for adults and children alike, sunny in the morning and partially shaded later, the perfect combination! By frequently rearranging the parasols on the patio we were able to provide just about enough shade, but be warned - it is a very sunny patio! A fabulous holiday for 4 adults and 3 children aged 6, 7 and 11. Highly recommended.

About the host

I am from Sussex but now live with my husband and 2 young sons in the Algarve in Portugal. We bought the house as a holiday home in 2003. My in-laws have had a farmhouse in the area for many years, and we had visited many, many times including living there in 2001 for 9 months.

Why they chose this property

We really fell in love with the area, the scenery, the culture, people and of course the food!
The house was in it's original state when we bought it and had not been lived in for several years. The renovation took nearly 2 years and included making the 'animal shelter / cowshed' on the lower ground floor into a modern open plan living/dining room and kitchen.

What makes this property unique

Le Marche really is a special place. As soon as we arrive, the feeling of relaxation is immediate.
I hope you enjoy staying there as much as we do!
