The house is located on the Mardi Gras Day Parade Route! Stand on the front lawn and enjoy the Rex the King of Carnival and the truck parades. Walk a few blocks to St. Charles Ave. and catch all of the other parades in family friendly Uptown. When there are no parades you can enjoy a ride on the worlds oldest streetcar line to view Historic Mansions and beautiful Audubon Park with its world class zoo or play a round of golf. Head the other way down St Charles Ave. to the French Quarter and it’s a different side of history. You can stroll through the French Quarter and enjoy a different festival nearly every weekend, the amazing architecture, restaurants, antique shopping, the Audubon Aquarium and Insecterium, Mississippi Riverfront, Jackson Square. If you’re more the party all night type there’s always Bourbon Street and if you’re here for the music there always live music on Frenchman St.

There are also so many fabulous restaurants, boutiques, antique shops, art galleries and live music venues Uptown. The property is centrally located so you can enjoy all of what New Orleans has to offer!

The apartment is a large, modern, two bedroom, two full bath apartment located on Napoleon Avenue. The unit features an open floor plan, independent bedrooms and a large kitchen with stainless steel appliances including a side by side refrigerator, ceramic top stove, built in microwave, dishwasher and washer and dryer. The master bedroom has a private full bath with a shower, queen sized TempurPedic bed. The second bedroom has a king sized bed with a comfy pillow-top mattress and the bathroom is located just a few steps away. There is also a queen sized sofabed if you need a little more sleeping space. It is located next to a playground for the kid.

Why Angele chose Uptown

Location! Location! Location! Walking distance to Mardi Gras and St. Charles Avenue! It's always a great place to take a walk and discover something new and beautiful. I live in the heart of New Orleans but there are tons of trees and flowers. It's close enough to the French Quarter but not too close. Uptown is convenient to all of the best New Orleans has to offer!

Well Appointed--Clean--Perfect Location

This property was perfectly suited for our family during the occasion of our granddaughter's christening. It was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. It was within walking distance of restaurants and a short drive to many attractions. Also, there is covered parking in the back. Angele is a kind host who made us feel welcome. We would definitely stay here again.

I cannot thank Angele enough for her kindness. I kept thinking how grateful I was to have found her home. It was the perfect place to settle in for 4 days. The apartment is very very comfortable and it felt like a wonderful reprieve from a very busy trip. Side note, I found out while we were there, that Angele had worked with my aunt in the past. My aunt had wonderful things to say about her. You will not be disappointed- I promise (and I'm pretty picky).

If you need two bedrooms, you must consider staying here

When I am looking for places on VRBO, I look for certain items, and with that in mind:

Owner: Angele is a very nice woman. She lives on the property and is very kind and helpful.

Location: In the Garden District. If you want to stay within walking distance of the French Quarter, this place is not for you. On the plus side, the Garden District is a lovely area. Public transportation is readily available and you do not need a car. There are two bus stops close by plus the St. Charles Avenue trolley, which is about 0.4 miles away. The streets are safe and walking is no problem. A day pass, which is good for both buses and the trolley, is $3.00, which you can buy as you board. The bus and trolley drivers are friendly and helpful. Using Google or other maps is helpful to track trolley stops. Also note that exact change is required. Check out the RTA website. A cab ride to the French Quarter is about $20 with tip. Lyft and Uber are slightly less. One of the cab companies stages cabs at a park next to the flat. There are several very good restaurants within walking distance. A Fresh Market supermarket is located at one of the trolley stops. The location is quiet, much more so than anything in the French Quarter. Napoleon Avenue has traffic, but mostly cars, primarily during the day. Only the occasional vehicle whose driver apparently thinks a loud exhaust is necessary to demonstrate his manliness. There is a park on the other side of the flat. Go to the French Quarter, come back and unwind in quiet.

Clean: Very

Comfort: Very comfortable. Good beds. (The queen size is firm, the king size just slightly less so.) A variety (size, firmness) of pillows. Lots of extra blankets, plush towels. 1950s building but flat has been updated and is well maintained. All kinds of kitchen utensils and table ware. Even a spice rack. (There could be more place settings, but that simply requires that the dishwasher be run more often and detergent is provided (also for the laundry)). Shower water pressure is very good. Huge closets. Plenty of hangers.

Walking distance restaurants: Pascal's Manale, Superior Seafood. Get reservations for the weekend. My wife and daughter unfortunately do not like seafood and when we went to Pascal's Manale, the wait was too long, so we did not eat at either place, but they have received good reviews and apparently very popular. Freret Street has many casual restaurants. We ate at Wayfare, Ancora Pizzeria and Bar Frances. All good.

Wonderful stay in uptown!

This is an amazingly comfortable apartment close to everything in uptown. You can’t beat the location, value and amenities. The apartment is conveniently located on the lovely Napoleon avenue with off street parking. An added treat is that the apartment overlooks two beautiful parks! We loved our stay!
