About Lance Scally
The above picture is of the family enjoying a Caribbean evening at the Gladstone. Plas Arfon Cottage is a family owned rental and part of our family business. The other parts are The Gladstone, our AA 4 star bar/restaurant/boutique hotel with 6 letting rooms, next door to the cottage and The Castle View in Deganwy. This is an award winning bar/restaurant serving traditional & modern food. Also the Liverpool Arms, directly on the waterfront in Conwy old town is a recent addition to the portfolio. This traditional old world tavern is the oldest and smallest pub in Conwy. Well worth a visit, after an enjoyable day's sightseeing or shopping, relax whilst taking in the river views from the outside seating area. We have lived in and around North Wales all our lives and have been in the hospitality industry for as long as we can remember. All the children grew up in the industry and as yet can't see that would change. (until the old man retires that is!)
Lance Scally purchased this House in 2007
Why Lance Scally chose Penmaenmawr
We purchased this property some 12 years ago to compliment our bar restaurant business next door and to take advantage of the amazing location. We spent the next 2 years converting it into a stylish 3 bedroom house with every modern convenience for visitors to enjoy. We have found that our cottage guests enjoy having a bar and restaurant near to site and they take advantage of the facilities of the Gladstone.

We booked this cottage because it appeared to meet all our needs.
It was advertised as having two showers and two television set.
Unfortunately only one shower and one television was in working order.
This was a disappointment because the shower that was working was in the 'on suit' bedroom downstairs.
Apart from this everything else was fine.
We would be be happy to stay there again provided the shower and Tv were fixed
Great house lovely veiw only down fall and not the end of thr world was bedroom tv did not work but
Ideal touring location
Lovely house with great secure garden for dogs. It is 4mls out of Conwy which means driving is essential. Easy access on to A55 to tour local area.
Nice property well equipped would certainly recommend
Thoroughly enjoyed it - only one negative comment need to bring information pack for cottage up to date - WiFi connection different to what is in book we have now changed it - also info re bin collection etc would help
Lovely clean property
Spent a lovely few days in this really nice property in Wales. The decor was nice and neutral, the beds were very comfy with crisp bed linen. The house had a well equipped kitchen with lots of seating space. Wonderful views of the sea. The only drawback was we were traveling with a person who has limited mobility and there were steps up to the property. I presumed as there was a downstairs en-suite bedroom that there would be no issues with accessibility (my mistake). However we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful property.
We a wonderful Easter break. Plas Arfon was perfect for all the family.
