About this property

Lodge on 3,500 acre facility - hunting available with stay

Miller-Green Lodge is located in the coastal bayous of Southwestern Louisiana on a secluded oasis of 3,500 acres with 25+ miles of trails and bayous tucked one-mile north of the Creole Nature Trail (HW82) in Pecan Island, Vermilion Parish and about three hours west of New Orleans and 3.5 hours east of Houston. This full amenity lodge is perfect for nature lovers, bird watchers, hunters, those looking for a little rest and relaxation or looking to experience part of the Cajun culture. Stay is good for 8 guests with a $50 additional fee per guest with a10 person max (potential for flexibility with children). For an additional cost, meals/libations as well as onsite fishing and guided tours via boats and jeeps are available.

For sportsmen, there is ample hunting and fishing. This luxury hunting and fishing lodge provides closeness to the spawning and nursery areas for millions of fish and crustaceans who live on plentiful food growing wild. These bayous and canals have an abundance of well-fed bass, catfish, crappie, white perch and garfish. Not far from the vacation home, White Lake is just to the north and full of fish as well. For bigger game, head to the shore waters just 5 miles from your hunting lodge at the Gulf of Mexico. Whether hunting duck, gator, deer or wild hog, the Miller-Green Lodge offers a variety of organized packages with highly skilled local guides. Hunts are tailored to meet your needs. In fact, you might even run into Lizbeth, our year-round bayou neighbor. Lizbeth most definitely knows a thing or two about hunting gators and gator eggs.

For bird watchers, the spring and fall migrations offer the widest variety of shorebirds to be found anywhere. Countless thousands of small song birds use numerous stranded beach ridges scattered throughout the marshes on their way to and from their northern resting grounds. The neighboring rice fields and refuges enhance this region in supporting large populations of migrating shorebirds in the spring and fall, and waterfowl and yellow rails in the Fall and Winter. Bird watchers and nature enthusiasts will experience why others have proclaimed Southwest Louisiana as one of the top bird watching areas in the United States.

This full amenity 2,400 sq. ft. lodge plus two 600 decks features open, expansive living space, four ensuite guest rooms and five full-baths. Not your average lodge rental, but a luxury vacation rental. No expense was spared in accommodating this cottage on the lake with nearly all the comforts of home. Guest rooms are in a split plan away from living space, each with their own corner windows and exposures. The Miller-Green Lodge is ideally positioned on Floating Turf Bayou, is elevated 12 feet above ground and features unobstructed views of the marsh, bayous, and night stars. Capture majestic sunsets while your freshly caught fish, wild duck, or seafood is prepared by our cajun chef.

Perfect getaway in the marshes
We stayed two nights with a party of 8 friends. The property is perfect for such a large group, consisting of four almost identical large bedrooms each with a queen and single bed and an ensuite. There is a large well equipped kitchen and the fridge was stocked with cold drinks when we arrived. Thanks to the mosquito screens the large balcony is perfect to sit outside whilst overlooking the marshes. Shellie and Joey are great hosts. Shellie cooked us a lovely cajun meal and Joey took us into the marshes with the air boat. Highly recommended.

Christmas in the Marsh
A wonderful time was had by all. The elevator is exactly what we needed to bring this happy reunion to fruition. Without it, we wouldn’t have been able to gather with our wheelchair bound patriarch. The lodge was perfect. Well stocked with pots and pans for cooking our Christmas Eve étouffée and Christmas Gumbeaux. Shellie and Joey were very helpful and responsive. We hope to do this again in the not too distant future!

Friends Trip
The lodge was amazing! We had 4 adult couples and we each had our own bedroom and master bath. The great room, kitchen and dining area all in the middle made a great community area. Shellie cooked us a wonderful meal that was waiting for us upon our arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, getting up early to watch the sunrise, bird watching, nature photography, hunting, boating...you name it! Surface Manager Joey made sure we were able to do all we wanted. He was an incredible guide and he and his staff took great care of us. We will be back many times in the future!

Much needed retreat
The property was amazing. The house was fantastic. Loved the location, remote and still connected for those that need internet. We are looking forward to our next trip.

Why they chose this property

Experience nature untouched. The amount of wildlife is unbelievable. The sounds are so vibrant and breath taking. The quality of this facility is unprecedented as are the guides that manage this facility. Those that have rented this facility wish they had stayed longer. You will not regret and this will be an experience for a lifetime

What makes this property unique

All hunts are included in the $500/night cost for the lodge rental. Guides work off tips

For duck hunting; four hunters are included in the $500 purchase of one night’s stay in the lodge. If you have more than four hunters wanting to participate, there is an additional fee of $150 per hunter per day, with the maximum set at six hunters in total. Guides work off tips.

For alligator hunting; if more than one person would like to participate in a hunt, each member added to the group must rent an additional night at the lodge; for example, if two guests would like to hunt, then you must rent the lodge for two nights, making the total cost $1,000. We cap groups at a maximum of four hunters. Each hunter can shoot up to three gators and is allowed to pick one for keeping. If you would like to have your gator professionally skinned and tanned, there will be an additional cost applied. Guides work off tips.
