amazing !!!

Curacao is what I call paradise . The blue water and the wonderful people. We use to travel there every year when my older son was a child . We hadn't been back in years . I remember now why I loved it so much . The apartment was amazing . It was perfect for my family of 6. The bunk beds were great for the twins. The apartment was clean and well decorated. Everything you needed was there for appliance. It is located in a great little neighborhood to walk for dinner or just sit on the back porch and eat with the sunset and your family . The lagoon was perfect for the kids. There were plenty of fish to see and plenty of sand to build castles. The apartment manager is absolutely delightful. She got right back to me when I emailed her and was so pleasant . A wonderful women named Jackie met us at the apartment with our keys. She was so helpful with any questions we had. . We had some difficulty with the TV. We had a new TV the next day and she had called us back within 30 min to set it all up . She was amazing . We rented a car . The grocery store is not far and town is also nearby . Great location!!!! I would recommend the apartment to anyone who would like to have a little piece of heaven for their holiday !!!!!

Great stay - it's as nice as it looks!

We had a great stay at this beachfront condo. Everything was lovely. We could swim right out front - the breakwater helps keep the water calm so there was no worry about strong surf. It was wonderful to be able to walk to several very good restaurants. One note, the third bedroom is not suitable for two adults; either one adult or two children would be okay.

Excellent Location!

Just spent a week at The Strand with 3 kids, (14, 14, 6) we didn't feel the need to leave the grounds as everyone enjoyed the pool and beach that we were able to just walk out the deck to. The snorkeling was awesome in the protected area at the beach for the little guy but was also great outside in the deeper water as well. The grounds are well kept and secured by security guards, alarms, and cameras. The unit itself is very nice, clean, well stocked with everything one would need for appliances, dishes, etc. The pictures shown of the beach and pool in this listing were accurate; nobody else present :) We only saw a couple other people the whole time we were there and nobody ever at the pool.

Just to note for sitting at the pool: The pads for the pool loungers are on a shelf in the pool house washroom, we didn't realize until the 2nd day. :)

Would definitely go back some day.

The unit is as described and the photos are of the actual unit. Stayed two weeks and could not have been happier. Had the private beach to ourselves much of the time and snorkeling along the outside seawall provides views of much of the same sea life as will be seen diving elsewhere on the island. As mentioned by others, there are numerous restaurants in walking distance and you will likely wish to return to more than half of them to further explore their menus. For those who wish to cook, the kitchen is well equipped, including down to an electric kettle. A trip to one of the large supermarkets is well worth the time and you will find more than in a normal US based chain store.

A few points of information:

a) the building is on 240 voltage. (We did not check with Petra and relied upon misinformation on the internet.) The outlets are the standard two pin continental but there are numerous adapters in the unit. Just be careful if you are using US items.

b) google maps is more lost than you will be but can not say if others are better. Just know on our next visit tom-tom is going with or we will get one with the rental.

c) for those who can't leave the office behind, the internet in the unit is 2 down/1 up. VOIP was a bit shaky.

d) Finally, Petra is the perfect manager, there if you have questions, otherwise not.

Beachside relaxation

We have just returned from a week at this beautiful apartment. This was our first trip to Curacao, but won't be our last. One of the best parts of the vacation was the view of the ocean from the porch. Beautiful mornings and sunsets from the comfort of your chair.

The apartment is spacious and well appointed. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king sized bed, the 2nd bedroom has 2 twins and the 3rd small bedroom has a set of bunk beds. All bedrooms have bathrooms. This would be a perfect place for a couple with kids. Nice kitchen and living spaces. Space to spread out.

The property is gated and guarded at night and we felt very safe. There are several restaurants within an easy 10 minute walk that were a real surprise. Check out Fishalicious, Rozandaels, Serafina and Mosa. The Avila Beach Hotel is a 5 minute walk and they have a bar, live food, restaurants and you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner. We weren't that impressed with their food or service, but it was close.

We will certainly consider this apartment for our next trip to Curacao.
