About your hosts: Jill first came to Alaska from the Pacific Northwest as an 18 year old to work seasonally in the canneries during the summertime, experiencing different areas of the state before permanently moving to Seward in 1990. Ronn arrived in the last frontier in the mid 1990s to take a job teaching in the village of Naknek and soon realized his boyhood dream of becoming a pilot: a year later, he moved to Seward. The two met years later, marrying in 2007. They raised four children in the town and are looking forward to adventures with grandchildren soon. Jill and Ronn enjoy the outdoors and spend much of their free time there - hiking, camping, biking, canoeing, skiing, ice skating or just resting on the deck in the summer. In addition, they have two enthusiastic and energetic canine children - Dax and Hank - who can often be seen playfully running alongside their people.
Jill and Ronn also love to travel and meet new people, and share their town with others. Over the years they have hosted five foreign exchange students and quite a few random travelers. They now look forward to opening their home up to others and continuing with the tradition of sharing their town.
