Cute Little Cabin
We were looking for a quiet, cozy location to get out of the cities for a couple days and this fit the bill nicely. The Writer’s is small but has its charms. Very short walk to Grand Marais restaurants, art galleries and the lakeshore. Instructions were thorough and clear and the whole stay felt welcoming. Would recommend having a first aid kit handy (possible it could have been missed). Overall, great first VRBO trip!
Very well! equipped cozy cabin
Warm and very comfortable, we enjoyed the quiet setting.
We would definitely come again, highly recommend.

Autumn visit made cozy
Had a lovely time in Grand Marais. I had an opportunity to visit with Sue on a couple occasions. Very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the location and walkable access to everywhere. The facility had all the necessary amenities and was neat and clean.
Grand Marais is a small harbor town with the great North Woods to it's back and Lake Superior in front. It has an artistic culture that exceeds it's small size including Minnesota's longest running art colony, art galleries, a strong local music scene, North House Folk School, and many local residents who are artists of different pursuits. There is a great interest in outdoor activities including all forms of skiing, biking, hiking, snowmobiling, sailing, boating, fishing, birding, canoing, kayaking, dining and general carousing. We are the last bastian of civilization before The Boundary Waters Canoe Area wilderness and the last town of significance before Canada. We have a rich history of the Ojibwe, then Scandanavian fisherman, logging, resort lifestyles, and now tourism. There is a genuine small town and diverse school system and vibrant community of year round residents- many going back generations. There is no place quite like this.
