2 Bedrooms, 2 Full Baths and Stainless Steel Kitchen, Mountain View
After looking for several months, this property was purchased in 2007. The residential development was selected because it is both beautiful as well as one of the finest in area. Chalet construction began in 2007. Hidden Ridge began receiving guests in February 2008.

Very Disappointed—Could Not Stay
First, you will have to sign a 3 page contract of things that you may NOT DO before arriving at this cabin. In all of my travels i have never had such and endless list of 'don'ts'. The property is listed as having a hot tub, but only after booking do you find out that the hot tub is NOT for your use, but for the owners, and using it will likely be an additional charge. Most of the the don'ts come with a threat of extra penalties or cost.
Here are a few of the things we found disappointing upon arriving:
1. Be aware, there is a three page list of don'ts that must be signed before arriving. This legal document was a huge turnoff and the tone of it was patronizing and so highly restrictive you might think you're entering a museum, not a cabin. AND, there was no mention of this requirement before booking.
2. The access road is dangerous and difficult to navigate even with a 4x4 as the road is a steep one lane road with nothing but a deep rocky ditch on both sides of the road. If you encounter another vehicle, you will have either back up to a drive way, or they will have to back down. Furthermore, we had difficulty finding the cabin due to the sign being well hidden behind tall weeds.
3. Cabin was not clean, the dish sponge in the sink was nearly black, there was heavy dust on furniture, the return air duct was clogged with dust and pet hair, the railing to the upstairs was loose, the stove dirty, the toilet paper roll broken off the wall, dog hair on stairs and couch, empty soap dispenser, sticky handles on the fridge, beds unmade, and very mismatched and worn bedding. There is a cleaning fee, but they request that you clean.
Overall, we were highly disappointed and we were looking forward to a relaxing two days, but were unable to stay and left immediately. After being requested by the owners to 'do inventory' when arriving and signing the document, we found so much wrong we could not stay and risk the high penalties per the contract. This was a major issue in that we now had to find a last minute place to land. The owner did begrudgingly refund our money, but both she and Rhonda dismissed the list of issues and reported we were too hard to please and insisted on photos for proof—which we provided.
For the price range, this cabin is very old and in need of maintenance and repairs. It is perhaps more suited to pet owners that won't mind the mess, or others not adverse to the risk of fees for damages made by previous renters.
Excellent accommodations - very cozy!
All girls weekend; loved the cabin. We found everything we needed at the cabin, so cozy, clean and just what we expected. The one thing for all to know, they aren't kidding when they say it is at the top of the hill! And that hill is steep for those that are not familiar with the area.
We loved the cabin. What a great place to stay.Wish there was not so many steps. But still worth the climb.Everyone needs to stay there.
Loved this property
Our family of four including kids ages 8 and 11, just returned from our stay. This cabin was amazing. Great location, very clean and super comfortable. Even our kids made comments about the comfy beds. We did not use the hot tub and did not cook anything, but seemed like everything was well stocked if we had cooked. Rhonda was great answering questions before arrival, even giving some suggestions of things to do in the area. She was also responsive during our stay when a question or two came up. I will definitely be suggesting this property if friends or family visit the Red River Gorge in the future.
Easy to communicate with Rhonda & perfect clean location!
We gave it a low cleanliness rating because there was dog hair all over the couch which was all over our clothes when we sat down on it. We vacuumed the couch off. There was dog slobber on the windows and deck door, which I cleaned off.
See cabin literature for additional events in the area..i.e. Music and Bluegrass Events, Drag Racing, Motorcycle Friendly, and Drive In
