Had a lovely relaxing holiday - very lucky with the weather, especially towards the end with temperatures of 31 and not too many thunderstorms. Beautiful house, excellently equipped with all you could need. Children made lots of use of pool, table tennis, badminton etc, and especially the wonderful spa and pool. Thank you so much - hope to return.
An absolutely amazing holiday home in a stunning location. I have never before stayed somewhere so well equipped, you really just need to take your clothes! I literally had to bribe my family to go out. The pool is perfect with a shallow end for children but still being plenty big enough for serious swimming. The spa was a particular highlight especially at night. My 5 year old enjoyed all the toys provided and my bigger ones loved the massive DVD collection, the PlayStation and games, table tennis and pool table. The 4 bikes provided were used everyday to cycle down to the village. The supermarket in Sigoules is well stocked and the Bakery is great. It was 30 degrees most days so the air-conditioning in the bedrooms was brilliant. I think one of the things that made the holiday really special is the little extras that Mark and Karen provide including a huge welcome pack on arrival, loads of pool towels, dishwasher tabs, washing powder, a huge collection of herbs, spices and condiments, ice pops and lollies in the freezer, the list goes on and on. Thank you Mark and Karen, we all had a fabulous holiday.
Fantastic property with everything you need. Lovely welcome pack on arrival and the owners really helpful. Well worth a visit.
We were a family of 11 from grandparents to tiny babies, with two more relatives visiting for a while. The house was excellent, so comfortable, spacious, with large enclosed garden and the two laundries, huge fridge/freezers made life easy.
Karen and Mark were exceptionally kind and helpful in every way. When our granddaughter had a freak accident and cut her foot badly, Karen arranged help from her friend, a nurse, who visited 3 times to make sure the wound healed properly.
The pool was great and the small spa pool, lovely and warm, was such an attraction we could not get the children ten out of it.
This house has everything and more that a large family needs on holiday and it was superb. Thank you Karen and Mark.
5* all the way...! This is the 5th time my family and I have visted this property in Sigoules and we all totally love it. Karen the owner couldnt be more helpful - nothing is too much trouble for her and she is so welcoming. The reason we come back year after year is that this truely is a home from home. In so many self catering places, there is limited cutlery, limited plates meaning you have to wash up constantly, or there isnt enough to go around if your having more than one course. Or there are no bin liners, no washing up liquid and so you have to spend a fortune on all of this, just to leave it behind 6 days later. This house comes will all these little "extras" which make self catering so much easier..... Plenty was washing liquid, dvds, tons of bath towels, pool towels, bin liners, plus a lovely welcome gift of bread, ham, wine - eseential after a journey with little ones.
My kids adore this house and spend all day every day in the pool and out door jacuzzi, but the house is so spacious there is plenty for everyone to do inside and out. Full size pool table, full size table tennis table, plasystation, giant pool, 6 TVs, sauna, mini gym, undercover large dinig space, undercover outdoor sofas, bbq, really the list is endless! we love it and would recommed it to anyone looking for a great family holiday.
We had a fantastic stay. We had a lovely welcome from the owner, Karen, who left us with a few basics which were well received after such a long drive. The villa was very clean and there was plenty of equipment and towels. There was plenty of space for us to be together and to have our own space! The extensive DVD library was along with the pool table and table tennis was used daily! Very well equipped throughout and since the weather was so hot, the air conditioning was particularly welcome. The village of Sigoules had a well stocked supermarket considering the size. We also enjoyed the morning walk for our croissants. The location was very central for exploring the local wine although we tended to stay at the villa more than we expected to. We did venture out to Bergerac and enjoyed a celebration meal at L'Imparfait which was excellent but a bit pricey. We tried the local restaurant next to the supermarket which served us some decent food and it was nice to see so many locals eating there. We also ventured to nearby Eymet for a couple of hours which was worth a visit. We would certainly recommend this villa to an extended family group (we had teenagers and OAPs in our group).
An extremely clean, well equipped and well maintained property with lots of room for all the family to spread out and have there own space. Lots of activities available on site (swimminmg pool, board games, pool table, table tennis, sun lounges, hot tub, etc, etc and Karen and Mark could not do enough to ensure that our holiday was trouble free and enjoyed to the full by all members of our party.
A celebration dinner at the nearby Tour des Vents restaurant was first class and provided theperfect finale to a truly memorable holiday.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this as an ideal holiday location for families with members of all ages.
This property is 1km from the centre of Sigoules which is a friendly village, with bakery, newsagent, hairdressers, supermarket, restaurant/ bar which does great lunches , snack bar which does delicious pizzas and steak and chips, bank, post office, florist, and pharmacy. The village holds a lot of traditional festivals including the wine festival the 3rd weekend in July and Friday night markets selling food to eat in the open air listening to music in July and August which are great fun for all the family to attend. The villa is 15 minutes from Bergerac which has a good selection of shops, a small water park which is ideal for younger children and various large supermarkets. There are many bastide towns nearby which hold daily market days, and lots of vineyards to visit and sample the wines of the local area. We are approx 1hr15mins from Bordeaux which is worth a trip as well, and 40minutes from the gorgeous hillside town of St Emilion with its fabulous red wines.
Other Activities: Wine tasting, karting,golf.
Golf: Chateau de Vigiers is the ideal place to play golf.
