The Zilker Barn is a quite oasis near downtown. The house has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Within easy walking distance of a dozen restaurants and a short bike ride from Barton Springs, South Congress, Downtown and Lady Bird Lake the house is very well situated for all Austin has to offer. There is one off street parking spot available in the shared driveway and lots of street parking.
City of Austin occupancy limit is 6 unrelated adults. Larger family groups of up to 10 are welcome once we have passed our additional occupancy inspection (awaiting instructions from City on how to do so).
With four bedrooms the house most comfortably fits 6 adults and some kids. One king room, two queen rooms, and a room with twin bunks and a trundle. One living area has a daybed, and the other living room has a sofa that converts to a full bed. An inflatable full bed available upon request. Each bed has high thread count linens and ample pillows. We also have a roll away crib and a high chair if you are traveling a baby.
The kitchen has been recently remodeled and has a full sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and a tea kettle. Lots of dishes, glasses, pots and pans are also available.
Both bathrooms have walk in showers. The hot water is on demand on we provide ample fresh towels. The house has a washer/dryer if you need to freshen your clothes during your stay.
The living room is equipped with a cable TV , free wifi, and lots of magazines.
Our house is licensed by the City of Austin as an STR, and we pay hotel occupancy taxes 2013-005274. Occupancy limit per the City of Austin is a maximum of 6 unrelated adults, and our limit for groups with children / related adults is 10 for the house. For larger groups we also have another rental property with two bedrooms that is available next door. Parties and gatherings are not permitted at this rental. The owners live less than a block away and are available to help with questions or maintenance issues.
