Rare Wooded Cabin on the Lake
A rustic one room cabin situated on over 480 acres of wooded lakefront property that delivers on authenticity, coziness and a deep family history to boot! If you’re a backcountry hut traveller needing a “base camp” to Algonquin Park’s newer panhandle routes or just a quiet beach/dock setting to relax in, then this might be your place. The location is especially suited for families with children given the sandy beach and shallow water depths near the shore and various docks. There are canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards to borrow and a beach volleyball court for those inclined. Fish can be caught out in the bay or right off the dock. The unique and naturally protected design of the bay makes open water swimming a dream. One of the more unique elements of this vacation property is that various guests may be lodged in one of the other four private cabins or up in the farmhouse. It’s a great opportunity to connect with other families and see our kids create one of a kind summer experiences and memories to last a lifetime. Our host Richard is genuinely kind and welcoming, as is the rest of his family. He made the rental process for us newbies very manageable and was always available by text or phone. We look forward to our return visit next summer!

Beautiful location, but MICE!!!
The cabin was great, the view of the lake from the front porch was fanastic. But the cabin is old and has MICE. We contacted the owner about this problem, and got NO REPLY.

Awesome vacation!!
Wow, if you’re looking for the best place to have a vacation this is the place to be. I spent a week here in this cozy cabin. Private campfire, dock, large shore line property to fish if you don’t have a boat. The people we met couldn’t have been friendlier and most welcoming. Richard the owner went out of his way a few times for us which was more than appreciated when being so far from home. Again, a very comforting feeling to have. All round...amazing. Fishing was awesome and the scenery will make you forget your troubles. You must check Hastings highlands out for sure. I absolutely loved every minute of it! Can’t wait to go back!! 👍👍

Awesome family fun for everyone!
West bay is the best kept secret in North-Eastern Ontario! If you are looking for a quick and easy get away without the hassle of packing your whole kitchen, I would highly recommend this resort. The accommodations are lovely and rustic. You are provided with everything you need as far as utensils and kitchen supplies, but the owners still let it be known numerous times that if we needed anything at all to let them know. They were beyond accommodating, and a real pleasure to deal with. This was our first time coming to West bay, and I have already booked for two more weekends this season. The cabin was adorable, and just what we needed. The cabins are dated, but definitely part of their charm. If you are looking for brand new state of the art cottage then you should check out the Hilton Hotels... However if interested in spending copious amounts of time outdoors enjoying a beautiful quiet lake, Spotless beach with safe water access, awesome hiking trails, and star filled nights.. I couldn't recommend any better place. 10 STARS! Thanks Jessica W. Etobicoke, Toronto, ON 3/2/2018
