Summary:
Come feel the magic of Malibu. Step through the door onto the teak floor, feel the breeze through the giant sliding doors, and all your worries will melt away. Whatever your pleasure, Modern Malibu will satisfy: hike in the mountains, surf the waves, stroll the sand, or lounge in the hot tub.

The Space:
Our space is ready to provide you a comfortable, enjoyable stay, with 3 bedrooms and 3 spacious bathrooms, laundry, a well-equipped kitchen, laundry, a hot tub, surfboards, paddle boards, and kayaks. Hiking trails are close by, as are restaurants, shopping, and the Malibu Pier. Please note: we no longer rent the 3rd floor (which includes the rooftop deck), as we did previously. Reviews prior to 2023 mention the rooftop deck (and larger groups) which is no longer part of the rental.

Guest Access:
The 2 bottom floors of the house are yours, including your own private deck with a propane grill & hot tub, and private stairs to the beach. Also privately yours are 2 kayaks, 2 surf boards, and 2 stand up paddle boards. There are 4 parking spots available.

The Neighborhood:
Within walking of Topanga Beach, Thai Cholada, Reel Inn. Quiet beach.

Getting Around:
4 parking spots are available in front of the house. Having a car will make it so you can go where you want, when you want.

Interaction with Guests:
We are a phone call away, not on-site, but are able to provide help in case of a specific need or issue within an hour or two.

This house is incredible. You cannot get any closer to the water than this! We would 100% recommend staying at this home!!

Amazing home--spectacular home on the beach in Malibu

This is a dream VRBO home stay. A fabulous vacation stay. A well maintained fabulous home directly on the beach in Malibu with spectacular views. Home includes a hot tub, surf boards, and sea kayak. Family thought it was the best family get together location ever Host incredibly helpful and responsive.

Perfect!

Our family stayed in this house for four nights and it was hard to leave. The location is fantastic. Being on the water was beautiful and fun to watch the sea life. The house was more spacious than it looks in pictures. Our host, Haley, was wonderful with communication. We definitely recommend a stay in this home!

I grew up in La Canada, north of downtown Los Angeles, and my family has been in the building business for four generations. I always dreamed of having a place at the beach and I found this property in 2003. I built this house from the ground up, well, actually from way under the ground, up. I really grew to love the unique culture and setting of Malibu. I love bringing my growing family here also.

Why they chose this property

We love this spot because it provides us a quiet getaway while within reach of the Palisades, Santa Monica, and Venice. We can spend all day playing in the ocean playground: surfing, kayaking, skimboarding, and stand up paddling.

What makes this property unique

This house is unique because multiple families can stay and they won't feel on top of each other. The sound insulation provides a quiet calm. This house offers a rare beach experience because of the deck overlooking the sand, and the direct access to the beach. Kids can play for hours and the rest of the family can be in and out of the water and the hot tub and everyone can be entertained. We have beach chairs and lounge chairs, too, so you can sit on the dock on the sand and watch the happenings.
