About this property

Beautiful Lake House on Toddy Pond

Our lake house is on pristine and peaceful Toddy Pond. There is an excellent view of the pond from the front porch which is 75 feet from the water and you will get excellent sunset views. There is enough room between us and the neighbor's homes to allow for privacy.
The water access is one of the best on the pond. It has a sandy bottom and gradual- very safe for children. Most properties have steep, rocky or muddy access or from a dock.
There is also a float anchored out from shore which is great to swim to, sunbathe, and older children love to dive or jump off it.
We have 5 kayaks, a canoe, a windsurfer and a small rowboat for fishing. We ask renters to sign a liability waiver if they use any of the watercraft. Most rental properties don't have watercraft. There are organic blueberries to pick mid summer in our fields along the road behind the cottage.

The front yard by the water has a nice area with comfortable chairs, portable fire pit, gas grill, picnic table and hammock.

The open floor plan of the house allows plenty of room for socializing.

We welcome well behaved dogs which don't bark. There is a $100 fee if you bring a dog.

We have installed an automatic generator which is necessary if the power goes out due to occasional intense summer storms due to climate change. Most rental houses don't have this feature.

You won't see many reviews because we have an 80% return rate.

Toddy Pond
We enjoyed our weeklong stay here very much. This well-kept cabin has everything you could possibly need. Although it was only my wife and I, this would be a great place for a large family. Only a few steps to the pond with kayaks, canoe and a rowboat available to use. Although they call this a pond in Maine, it is larger than many lakes in my home state of Pennsylvania. Although we did not meet the host, he was available and attentive to our needs. communication was good. I can certainly recommend a stay at the Lake House!

Perfect week
A really lovely spot and we feel lucky to have found it. My family and friends had a perfectly relaxing week here. We felt comfortable in the cottage right from the get go. Loved the screened in bedrooms for sleeping and the swimming was divine. The kids made sure to paddle over to the “jumping rock” at least once a day. We hope to return!

Rustic retreat
Enjoyed the large screened in porch and open floor plan with the kitchen and living room. Plenty of room for large group. Appreciated that it was pet friendly and access to swimming on the pond. Quiet lake with loons as the main attraction. Two bedrooms are basically screened in porches, which we enjoyed as a different rustic experience. Bob was very accessible. Kyaks and canoes available for use. Had everything we needed.

Large 4 bedroom camp on a beautiful pond. Well stocked with supplies, from plentiful towels to everyday kitchen needs. Great assortment of water craft with life jackets and paddles. Lots of games, toys, puzzles, etc. Perfect for a family vacation.

My partner, Doris Groves, and I own a small organic vegetable farm in Brooksville, Maine. See our Sweet Dog Farm website for other information and photos.

Why they chose this property

My father purchased this property in 1946 because of the sandy beach access and great sunset views. There was a small cabin on this property which was removed In 1992 when the new building was erected.

What makes this property unique

Our renters have said they especially enjoyed kayaking on the pond and some liked fishing. Families with children have said that their favorite activity was kayaking out to the island in front of the cottage, having a picnic lunch and jumping off a big rock there.
