Our stay here was very relaxing. The location was close to many unique small towns and easy to get to off of the main highway. Owner was friendly and easy to deal with. Would definitely stay here again.
The stay was wonderful. The house was clean, and had all the comforts of home.
I would go back, for sure. The owner was very helpful. The beds were comfortable and the home very private.
Rustic but all the comforts of civilization
My family and I just arrived home from a 3 night vacation at this wonderful house. Very cozy beautiful view and serene. Loved that those who wanted to fish or boat had such an incredible place to do so but others could stay inside with high speed internet and satellite television, watch a DVD, or just lounge around and read a book. Very close to everything you need but far enough from distractions you don’t want. My family is already planning when we would like to return.
We loved it. Property was perfect, pond, woods felt like we we're in woods, but we were close to tow
Nice big fenced in yard, quiet, relaxing
secluded and close to town all at once
it was a great property - really close to great restaurants downtown, but felt like we were up in the mountains thanks to the private lake. anne was also great to work with and we enjoyed our stay. bed was comfortable and everything worked as it should.
only downside was the house could use a dehumidifier - the air and bedspread felt damp due to the moisture, but it wasn't a huge problem. maybe add espn to the cable package? that's really it. it's a cool little house.
Yes, it has been an extremely wet year. I was already on top of this and just got a new dehumidifier yesterday that will be installed this week. Thanks for the feedback.
Glad you enjoyed.
The location and cabin itself was nice. The cleanliness not so much.
The cabin was on a private, fenced in area with a small pond. We tried fishing in the pond but never got a bite. There were a lot of mosquitos in the evening making it difficult to sit outside. Luckily there is a nice screened in porch where we played games and ate most of our meals.
The bedroom that shows the 2 twin beds is actually a day bed with a trundle underneath. In order to set the room up with both beds accessible we had to move every piece of furniture in the room, stacking the book shelf on the desk. Two of the three beds had someone's hair on them when we went to get in bed the first night. Fortunately, there were other sheets so we changed them before getting into bed. Also, there was a dirty towel on the back of the bathroom door. We only had two clean towels for a five night stay. We had to go buy towels for the week.
The cabin was pet friendly with dog beds, kennel and fenced yard provided.
Yes the 4 acre property includes a small lake or large pond, and yes, when it's hot there are mosquitos, the reason why I have citronella candles on the porch. Suggest that anyone who wants to stay next to a NC lake surrounded by woods, wear repellent.
Second bedroom has a twin bed with trundle under it, which is what is shown in pictures and in description. For trundle to be used, just one nightstand needs to be moved away from the bed.
ALL linens were cleaned before you arrived. The towel on the rack behind the door was clean. If you needed more towels, why didn't you ask? I would have told you there are extras in the hall closet. It's a short hall and a small closet, which everyone else has been able to find. There were 3 other folded towels in that closet.
Your sheet hair story has changed twice since you first told me and asked me for a cleaning fee refund though email before you did this unfavorable review. My new housekeeper does have dark hair. She is now wearing a head scarf to help us avoid cleanliness questions in future. Thanks for helping us tighten us our processes. Good luck somewhere else next time. Sincerely, Anne
