Skiers will delight in the townhome's close proximity to 33 pristine ski and snowboarding trails at Camelback ski area. Unsurprisingly, snow tubing, cross country skiing, ice skating, and snowmobiling are also popular activities during the winter. Once the snow has melted, the slopes become Camelbeach Water Park, one of the area's most acclaimed summertime attractions. From hiking and mountain biking to fly fishing and rock climbing, outdoor enthusiasts will surely find plenty of adventures throughout the Poconos. This townhome is also a short distance from Pocono State Park, which includes picturesque land within parts of eastern Pennsylvania, as well as parts of New York and New Jersey. Should you find yourself at the base of the mountain, you'll be just 15 minutes from Mount Airy Casino and close to fantastic restaurants, shopping centers, golfing, and auto-racing attractions. No matter how you choose to spend your time here, this outstanding Tannersville vacation rental townhome leaves nothing to be desired!

Big Pocono State Park

Big Pocono State Park is not to be missed when visiting The Village in the spring, summer or fall ( it's closed in the winter). Just up the road from The Village, Big Pocono has 1.4 miles of paved road for walking, running, biking or driving that encircles the top of Camelback Mountain where visitors can enjoy terrific scenic views of eastern Pennsylvania and portions of NJ and NY at 2,100 feet above sea level. There are three picnic areas with picnic tables and charcoal grills, four parking lots (parking lot 2 has a restroom and some picnic tables nearby and parking lot 4 is designated for people with disabilities) and 8.5 miles of hiking trails (marked). When visiting the Park look for the Park brochure at Parking lot 2 which includes a map and more information on the Park's trails, wildlife and history. We also have copies of the maps in the lobby area of our sports complex.
The park is open sunrise to sunset.

State Game Lands # 38 is a great place to explore nature, with it's many hiking and biking trails some winding through the old railroad beds.
Parking lot # 38 is on your way to Big Pocono Park just past The Village on the right side of the road. Here you will find Wolf Swamp and Deep Lake. The access to the railroad beds is at the back of parking lot # 6 which is used by Camelback Mountain Resort for over flow parking.
Please be aware these are rugged hiking trails and since they are State Game Lands they are used by hunters. It is best to look up the hunting seasons before proceeding on the trails. I have provided the link below.

Camelback Ski area offers downhill skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, lessons, night skiing and more. Location was great but few things you need to know

The location of this rental was great for the convenience of ski area. We loved being able to hit the slopes straight from our condo and not have to drive w/all our ski gear. But be aware, it is a 3 minute walk up-hill with ski boots. The heat in the house was hard to control. (electric heat) super hot at night but the fans in the bedrooms helped. Also, if you like long hot showers this isn't the rental to do it in. There were 10 guests and only 2-3 people were able to shower back to back and had to keep the shower to a minimum of 5-8 minutes tops. I had to take a cold shower because I was last. This is an old unit, built in the 70's, but updated since then. The walls are thin, bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. The 2 bedrooms are downstairs and a loft upstairs (not much privacy) and you can hear EVERYTHING from the bedrooms. The condo pictures looked great but the place itself seemed weathered and older than the pictures showed. Overall I give it 4 stars because of the convenience and location of the rental and despite the minor issues we had it was exactly what we expected it to be. If you're just skiing for a few days it was definitely great, if you want a relaxing retreat for a week this might not be the place for you.

Misleading and not modern at all

This was one of the most MISLEADING descriptions I have ever came across on VRBO! Let me help save the next person money, time, and aggregation. This house was not at all as described. From the pictures you thought you would be staying in a modern, clean and spacious townhouse but in fact it’s dirty, old, run down and completely misleading with all the sleeping arrangements. Imagine the basement where you would normally put the children in, has no lightning and had the most fowel smell that’s just the beginning of the nightmare we were dealing with. The “loft room” is in a complete open space with no privacy. All the beds and mattresses were old, uncomfortable and creaky. The main living room couch was stained, old and also had a fowel smell as well. We were so uncomfortable with our situation that on Christmas Eve with children we left because nobody would get back to us and had to change our entire plans. Communication with the owner useless as she is also misleading and doesn’t get back to you right away. Even if they offer this place for free, do yourself a favor and do not book this house. If there was a way I could give this place a ZERO rating I would without a doubt but your only option is to rate 1 star.

The townhouse was nice-renovated and clean. The location was very convenient to ski at camelback and access the community amenities. The showers and control of hot water is hard to figure out-either scalding or it runs out completely, and the room heat is also hard to control, but other than that we had a nice stay.

The luxurious living room opens out onto the most amazing natural surroundings, creating a brilliant space for evening entertaining. Admire the beautiful lush scenery through the balcony and windows while cozy upon the couch.
