About this property

FAMILY FUN, Sunny Lake Front Home Private Dock Water Toys WiFi & Cell service

located on 2 acres overlooking Beautiful Lake Watauga abutting the Cherokkee Nat. Forest with your Private Dock and Lake Toys.

2024 Spring and summer calendar is now open!

Are you planning a vacation where your family can find fun and normalcy? Not much seems to happen here by the lake and mountains, If you choose our home you should enjoy a very private atmosphere with high-speed Internet!
This place is an awsome place to be with friends and family, a great vacation, with the ability to work by the lake if you must.

Summer with its long sunny days and evenings by the fire. With mountains to your west, you can see the setting sun. Fall offers the same with great hiking and enjoying the forests' beautiful colors.

Please contact me with questions and dates of interest.
Our maids will be doing extra wipe downs with disinfectants prior to any guests arrival.
We have extra comforters so we can rotate them after each guest, helping to reduce any potential exposure.
Our 2022 calendar is open through fall. The lake is usually in the 70s by mid-May stays warm into October. Fall is gorgeous and relaxing with great foliage.

We have improved our home once again for summer 2022 in a small way by getting new box springs for additional pieces and quiet. In 2021, we installed new cabinets and counters in the lower kitchen! (Not shown)
All of these pictures are taken with a cell phone.
The real-life views are usually much nicer than the photos.
Great views, morning and night, close to most things yet removed from almost everything!
Some people ski, hike, others boat and fish. You can do all of these from our home.
You can see your boat and the dock from either of our covered decks, which look to the west for some special sunsets.
You will have Internet, Verizon, and GTE cell service, Smart TV,'s along with an automatic stand by electric generator.

We show several pictures of kids playing by the dock, because we have a nice dock in the sun from 10 am til 6:00 pm. Water toys are provided! With 2 Acres of land, we try to show you everything you will see and be able to enjoy. *Note that this home is literally touching the Cherokee National Forest. It is a hillside property with wild flowers and trees! This is not a finely manicured lawn. It has great views of the lake day and night.

Sitting on a quiet hill overlooking Lake Watauga and Mallard Cove, our fully renovated 3 bedroom 3 bath home is cradled on both sides by the Cherokee National Forest, so usually your neighbors will be some local deer. ** Question to yourself? Are you quiet or late night rowdy?? If loud, choose a different place! My neighbors enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains and want to keep it that way.

We are easily accessible off of Route 321 while still being secluded. Most of the time, our home's caretaker will personally show you the home and give you your keys.

We have improved our home each year to benefit our family and yours, too!
Newly remodeled in 2019 is the guest room, while just fine in the past. It now has new solid Walnut wood paneling, drywall, and sound insulation with its own flat screen T.V. for the occasional time when a couple just wants to hide out and hunker down.

WHILE SECLUDED, we get excellent Verizon and Sprint cell service. (Updated to 4G in the fall of 2020) We have land telephone lines, high-speed internet, wireless printer, and Roku TV, too.

You can see from either balcony your private floating dock that is easily accessible and will self adjust up to a water level of 1961.50 that is 2.5 feet above full pool.
Kayaks and paddle boards slip in off our dock or little beach area.
(more shale with a little sand.)

Many homes have docks that are static and do not function well in low and sometimes higher lake levels. Summer full pool is 1959. Our dock has 2 benches for seating and a swim ladder. The dock has a slip that can accommodate a 9'x24' boat. (BOAT TRAILER arrangements must be made with me in advance!)
The walk from the house to the water MAYBE LESS than Ideal for people with mobility or stanima issues !! Most people do fine, but please be honest with yourself.
There are 2 walking paths to the dock. The first is a fast, direct winding 400-foot path and a bit PITCHY. The SECOND path is easier but longer. We have added a THIRD option of stairs to a new Lake Front Deck that includes a picnic table with an umbrella along with built-in bench seating.

At the dock, you will find 4 paddle boards, 2 kayaks, and a 3-person canoe. All with paddles and a variety of life vest sizes are provided, (for ages 4 and up) There is also a wagon to put towels and a cooler to take down to the lake or your private Pavilion.
This cove is very private with only 1 other dock by ours and a total of 3 in our area.
We have a nice pavilion situated between your cabin and the lake it is: 16'x22' with patio pavers and 2 picnic tables, a sectional sofa, electricity, and a charcoal grill. there also is a Tether Ball by the pavilion and a ring toss game inside, too. When it's hot and sunny, the shade and lake breeze are a fantastic way to cool down, while others play in the water nearby. The Pavilion also makes a great place to set up camp for the day.

This cove gets FULL sun and some very nice sunsets spring through fall.
There is a marina on the other end of the cove for easy refueling for boats and Jet Skis.

Our home has an open floor concept on the main level, and all of the furnishings are new. We have decided to share our food, spices, and cooking oils because it makes much more sense.
It will make your lives easier upon arrival, finding almost any condiment you need and not having to spend money on items that get thrown out. We also didn't want to play the game of" hiding the food" as we came and went. Our cooking and plate ware may be comparable to your own at home.

As with many lake houses, there are upper and lower kitchens, which can allow you to prepare separate meals if desired.
The upper floor kitchen is the better of the two with granite counters and is larger, too.

Our home, while not being fully handicap accessible is easier than most. It is possible to park your car on either of two levels and enter the home without encountering stairs.
There are stairs inside and outside of our home connecting living spaces and the two covered decks. With a new stairway recently added to our firepit patio.
The yard is not a Lawn, it is more like a field. We are trying to grow Local Tennessee wild flowers and Perennials and will keep adding flowers and seeds until the field is solid with flowers.

When not on 1 of our 2 covered decks. there is a 20 foot by 50 foot patio area with a fire chimney.
This older chimney fire pit overlooks the lake, and the chimney keeps the smoke out of your eyes.
There are 2 corn hole boards with bags by the fire pit, too.

Then there is the covered
. is much closer to the water and makes for a great place to watch the family and hide from the sun. It also makes for a nice place to coordinate lake toys and coolers going to and from the house.

PARKING, if you trailer a boat. Putting in is a breeze, but I will have to make trailer parking arrangements for you in advance. PLEASE DISCUSS BOATS AND TRAILERS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL!!!

DO NOT BRING THE BOAT TO THE HOUSE, I WILL INSTRUCT YOU WITH THE PROPER PROCEDURES.

THERE IS A LIMIT ON VEHICLES!
WHILE WE HAVE PARKING. THERE IS A MAXIMUM OF 4. THERE IS NO PARKING ON OUR NARROW ROADS AND THE ROADS TRUSTEE HAS A DRIVEWAY BY MINE.

Also, if you are an ATV enthusiast, we are only to 20 minutes from the Doe Mountain Recreational Area and can accommodate your trailers with advance notice. We have electricity by our dock, which can be used to recharge trolling motor batteries. (A must for fishermen with trolling motors)

While most people want the lake and nature, you can rest assured you will enjoy your beds, bathrooms, A.C., furniture, and creature comforts. While you may not watch them, there are 4 flat screens, a DVR, and PlayStation 4 too.
Sometimes it does rain or you may want to watch the big game!

We are 20 to 25 minutes from Elizabethton. our home has Western exposure and is located in the middle of the main channel of the lake. BOAT RENTALS are only 5 minutes and 10 minutes away.

BEDROOMS - There are 3.
The Master is quiet and has a Queen bed and and a Queen sofa sleeper.

The second bedroom has a queen bed.

The third bedroom had a double bed with a single bunk above the double.

Beds sleep 7, and sofa sleepers have room for 2 more.

We have our own high-quality water well, so you're safe if there is a power outage!
But please be environmentally friendly and help conserve water!

Also, most homes have septic systems, so please, no feminine products in the toilets, please!!!
Also, no cooking greases down the drains.

Finally, this is a residential property, while you may not see many neighbors they do exist.
This is NOT a party house. Too many cars and a large crowd will bring the sheriff and eviction without a refund.

The decks are not commercial structures, and overloading could bring about catastrophic collapse!

If you bring a boat, I must know and will have safe trailer parking nearby. Do not bring your boat to the house!

The same applies to motor homes and travel trailers, too!
Do not bring them to the house period,
They will have to be parked off-site.
They will be parked off

Please feel free to ask for additional information.

Fun & relaxing holiday
This place met all expectations. Was a good meeting point for family coming from 3 different states to celebrate Thanksgiving. Nick was great about making sure we had proper directions given the limits of cellular and GPS technology. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking Thanksgiving dinner. November water sports were limited but the kids enjoyed the kayak and canoe. Looking forward to a return visit.

This house has everything you need for a wonderful ‘home away from home’ feeling! The neighborhood and surroundings are beautiful, serene and quiet! The house has everything you could want and/or need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Our family was able to stretch out and we all had plenty of room. Nick & Robin,

We bought our home because we love Tennessee and all it has to offer. We are pictured at the Watauga Lake Winery when we decided to buy our home.
We love sharing our home with our friends and family. In June of 2017 decided to share it with others when we aren't home so the lake and surrounding area can be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

The added benefit of this will allow us to improve our home each and every year with the rental income.
While we are new to renting this home on Home Away, we have our local property manager just 5 minutes from our home.
We will try to make your visit a great one and will guarantee you rates no higher next year than what you paid per night this year for the same time frame.

Why they chose this property

While accessible it has plenty of privacy, with almost a full acre of land. Our land also abuts the Cherokee National Forest.

Private Dock, Pavilion with 3 grills and 2 fire pits let you enjoy this 1 acre lakefront where it makes sense depending on time of day, weather and your particular needs.

Unimpeded views of the lake and stars.

We are continually improving our home for everyone.

NEW for 2018 will be hundreds of spring flowers, summer wild flowers, water and electricity at the Pavilion.
A paved road to your driveway.

Because we use our home regularly, you will notice that the furnishings are probably comparable to your own. We truly want you to feel comfortable and welcome, so much so that it will become an annual event for you and your friends and family.
Our home is very easy to share with your extended family or family friends at the same time. Because of our multiple decks, entrances and a second kitchen.

While we are away, our property manager lives just 5 minutes away for emergencies or any issue that may arise.

What makes this property unique

Western exposure for sunsets, extra daylight and full all day sun on our dock and cove. All while
having our property touching the Cherokee National Forest.

Direct line of sight with no trees or shrubs from the house to your dock. You can see your boat and your kids from the patio and both decks.

YOUR private 16 foot by 22 foot pavilion close to the water that provides shade on hot sunny days complete with 2 picnic tables, a barb-q grill, water and electricity. All surrounded by Tennessee wild flowers in the summer and fall.

Private, yet Little Milligan public boat ramp is 2 minutes away and public boat rentals are only 10 minutes away.
Easy, Easy an un complicated vacation rental.
