Fall in the Adirondack Mountains
First time in the Adirondacks and it was wonderful. The cabin is exactly as described and had everything we needed for our stay. The lake setting is so serene and peaceful. Definitely would recommend!

Auger lake cottage
Upon check in, we never received the code for the key. We had no service to contact the owner. I had to drive into town to get service to be able to contact her for the code for the key. I think we went up at a bad time as a tree service was chainsawing all day right behind our cottage. They’ve had a lot of rain up there and the dock in the lake for the kids was non existing. The deck to the cottage was very slippery when it rained because of the moss on the stairs l, which caused me to slip and fall down the stairs. We’ve been up there once before and had a really nice, peaceful stay. This time was not so pleasant. I wish I knew all the things before we made the trip up there.

Very rustic. Accommodations are as previously reported in other reviews. Unplug and enjoy the outdoors. Communicate with owner prior to arrival otherwise you will have to drive back to main hwy for cell reception.

Why they chose this property

Augur Lake is a hidden Adirondack gem. Because there is no public access to the lake, the waters are accessible only to those who own property along the water's edge. This means that the lake is never 'busy' with boat traffic. The wildlife viewing includes beaver, eagles, porcupine, deer, turtles, waterfowl, turkey and more. Augur Lake is the perfect example of heaven on Earth: 'where the water meets the mountains, and the mountains meet the sky'. This property is unique from some rentals in that it provides the maximum in amenities at a very reasonable rental rate. Because we recognize that we only offer 10' of frontage(enough room for the dock and swimming) we have adjusted our rental rate to reflect that. We also strive, however, to provide an atmosphere that reflects the nature of the setting and comforts of any hotel in the area. This camp is the perfect option for the vacationer looking for an Adirondack experience at a reasonable value.

What makes this property unique

Our rental includes access to the lake via canoes and other small water craft, not just the chance to 'look' at the water. The camp furnishings are new and the kitchen /baths are completely updated. Our location is central to all the Adirondacks have to offer.
