This lovely detached 3 bedroomed villa, 'Yesil Vadi', is located in the village of Uzumlu, Turkey. It has a private pool, beautiful garden and spectacular mountain views. Take a 5 minute stroll to the centre of the village, with its restaurants and shops. A 15-20 minute drive takes you to the sea, marina and lively market town of Fethiye, the beach of Calis with its sunsets, or beyond to the world famous beach of Oludeniz.. The spacious living area is open-plan with well-equipped kitchen, dining area and comfortable lounge. There is also a separate TV room and a shower room. A marble staircase leads to the first floor, which has 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom, all with air conditioning, a family bathroom and an en-suite bathroom. 2 Of the bedrooms open out onto a large balcony, with spectacular views. There are great views from all windows. Outside, relax on the shady covered terrace, with dining furniture, overlooking the garden and the valley. Plenty of room to soak up the sun by the private pool. End a relaxing day with a BBQ at sunset. Yesil Vadi has wifi.
Uzumlu : Uzumlu village square is a five minute stroll away from the villa. There you will find restaurants, shops, bakery and an internet cafe - and people who are always friendly and helpful. This is also where you can get a dolmus (minibus) to Fethiye. Uzumlu market is on Fridays for local grown produce and various other interesting things. In Uzumlu, villagers still follow traditional ways and you can watch the local women weaving as you pass their houses. Children will love seeing goats and chickens as they wander around the village. Uzumlu means 'with grapes' and you can try the local wine. There are regular dolmus (minibuses) to Fethiye and from there to other places. If you require, we can arrange car hire or transfers to or from Dalaman airport.
The Turquoise Coast/Lycia area: There is a fish market at Fethiye, where you can choose your own fish, fresh from the sea, and the restaurant of your choice will cook it for you. There are numerous boat trips, including the 12 island trip, snorkelling and scuba diving. From Fethiye you can get a day trip to the Greek island of Rhodes. Fethiye has a great market on Tuesdays.
Calis beach is a lively resort with a long promenade lined with restaurants, shops and bars.
At Oludeniz you can watch the paragliders as they descend from Babadag mountain to land on the beach, or hire a paddle boat or canoe. From Oludeniz you can get a boat trip to Butterfly Valley.
There are other beaches near Fethiye to explore, such as Katranci or Gunluklu.
Other places to visit: Kayakoy is an ancient village, abandoned by its Greek inhabitants in 1923, known as a ghost town with 2,000 ruined stone houses. Horse riding is nearby. It is possible to hike to the ancient Roman city of Kadyanda from Uzumlu, which has been partially excavated to reveal Roman baths, tombs, a stadium, theatre and water cisterns. Hikers interested in the 2000 year old Lycian Way can pick up this route near Fethiye. Gocek (30 mins drive) is an upmarket marina town in beautiful surroundings. At Saklikent Gorge, you can walk on platforms above the river, or sit at a restaurant and dangle your feet into the cool water. At Dalyan you can take a boat trip through the reeds to the famous Iztuzu beach, where loggerhead turtles nest and if you're lucky a loggerhead turtle will come up to your boat..
