Guestbook comments from the manager

My husband, mother, mother in law and 5 month old baby spent 6 nights in this devine location! Radicondoli quickly became our favourite place in Italy! The farm is absolutely gorgeous. Its quite modern with all its features but retains that true Tuscan feel. Located in a very quiet area of Tuscany nothing feels touristy, yet you are pretty much within 1 hour drive of everything. We went to Florence and San Gimiango for the day without a problem. Radicondoli has all the amenties you need and the best pizza. Our host Luca was simply amazing. He popped in a few times and once with his wife and daughter and we had a fantastic chat. He was so kind and full of great advice. The property was huge and had more than enough room. The fact that we all had one bathroom each was a massive plus. The house had every possible thing you needed and more! We spent many a day near the pool drinking wine and the night by the roaring fire. The highlight though was the private dinner cooked by Emiliano, a chef from a nearby town. Not only the best meal i've ever had but such an entertaining night as well. Thanks Emiliano it was awesome to meet you. We already have plans to return to Tuscany and i will definately be going back to Radicondoli!

Sublime Tuscan retreat

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful villa tucked away on a dirt road. Indoor and outdoor fun with the pool, sauna, steam bath. Radicondoli is nearby with a small grocery store, town square and no asphalt! Belfort is a quick walk through the woods. One hour drive to the beach, one hour drive to Florence and San Gemignano.

Great place in amazing Tuscan country side

  • 5 of 5

We visited for a week from 28 May 2017 with a group of 4 adults and 2 kids (3 and 6 years old) and had a fabulous time exploring the Tuscan hills. As described by others, the owner had provided a lovely, home made cake and put some drinks in the fridge to welcome us. In the evenings we regularly observed the resident deer at the edge of the nearby forest from the patio (great idea of the owner to provide a pair of binoculars for observing wildlife).

Wonderful, memorable stay in the heart of Tuscany

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Colletalli, and the property provided an ideal base to explore all of the various regions of Tuscany. The house was exactly as described and located in the Tuscan countryside down a long gravel road just outside of the small, charming town of Radicondoli. Since it is in the countryside, we encountered numerous "nature" visitors including deer, a herd of sheep (and their watchful, but friendly sheepdog), and other various insects, etc. The house was far larger than imagined, and could easily host an entire family. Luca (the owner) met us at the house and showed us around, and took the time to walk us through a map of the surrounding area and recommendations for things to do / places to eat. He even surprised us with a bottle of prosecco and a delicious cake baked by his wife as we were celebrating our anniversary. We took advantage of the kitchen and arranged to have a private chef come and prepare dinner, and spent many of our afternoons and evenings relaxing in the stunning and tranquil setting. The house also had a sauna and steam-shower that added to the spa-like atmosphere. Radicondoli was a 10 minute drive up a winding hill from the house, and had 3 restaurant options and a small market for groceries. Other, larger towns were also within 20-30 minutes drive from the house, with Siena about 50 minutes drive. It was a perfect and relaxing weeks-long stay at Il Fienile di Colletalli, and we can't wait to visit again.

Cozy and serene getaway

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at Il Fienile di Colletalli with our three children after several days in hot, touristy, bustling Florence. We stayed for an amazing week before heading down to Rome. Dine under the shady trellis on delicious local produce sourced from the farmer's market in Colle di Val d'Elsa. In the morning, sip cafe au lait on the terrace overlooking distant Tuscan views - look carefully and you may see a wild boar traversing the field! In the afternoons, sip a crisp San Gimignano Vernaccia while lounging in the shade, while your children (if you brought them!) splash in the sparkling pool. Although the house is somewhat removed from the larger towns in the area, we felt this was an advantage. We made day trips to Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena and Casole d'Elsa easily and still felt complete relaxation and solitude upon coming back to our farmhouse. The drives in the area afford beautiful long views to hill towns and we thoroughly enjoyed the driving. Large grocery stores are a bit of a distance but with a little foresight this shouldn't be a problem. We made rigatoni alla gricia, spaghetti carbonara, tomato bruschetta, salads - many beautiful, easy, delicious meals with only a little bit of planning. I recommend visiting the local farmer's markets - the one in Colle di Val d'Elsa was wonderful - we ate warm porchetta sandwiches with salsa verde as we wandered. The house was cool, comfortable and very well maintained. The renovation is recent and handsome. We were greeted on our arrival by the owner with a few bottles of excellent local wine and a lovely homemade cake! A very nice personal touch - cake with coffee at breakfast! A little paradise.

Nice home

  • 4 of 5

If your looking for old this is not the place. It was recently built from the ground up on the place of the old barn. The style is true to Tuscany and does have some of the old barn in its structure. The home is very clean, the pool cold but lovely and the view fantastic. A good home for 8, only if not all couples. 2 of the bedrooms are more for children than adults. The beds are really futon mattresses and extremely uncomfortable for sleep. The owners are nice people and the town nearby is lovely. Word of warning for Ameticans, while there is a washing machine it's European so plan on 2-3 hours for a wash of 5-6 items. And if it's raining it'll take at least 24 hours for the load to dry. One other issue, Door access is a problem. Each door has its own key and these are not interchangeable. Primary entry is 1 up by kitchen and 1 down. Which if you have the lower level key and groceries you will be taking them through house and up a flight of stairs. Also if it's hot the AC struggles cooling the bedrooms as they are only in the living area. Also be prepared, this is country living. A very small limited market is in town but a large market will only be found 25k away.

Dreamhouse with pool and great view

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week in this wonderful

house. The property is fantastic with a nice pool, beautiful garden and great views over the Tuscan hills. The cute little town of Radicondoli is a short drive (or long walk) away. You can get everything you need there and there a few good restaurants, too.

The highlight of our stay was private chef Emiliano. He cooked a wonderful 4 course dinner for us twice - best food we had in our week in Tuscany.

We plan to return!
