Comfortable two bedroom flat with a spacious living room and a huge sunny terrace (32 sqm), in an elegant neomodern house with a lovely garden and private parking. On a hillside overlooking the sea, it is far enough from the hustle and bustle of Budva to rest peacefully, and close enough to enjoy all the town can offer.
SPACE:
The flat is bright and pleasant, with triple orientation, panoramic vistas, and a very large south facing terrace, perfect for outdoor meals, sunbathing and rest. It has a spacious living room with dining area and kitchen, one double bedroom with a Queen size bed, one double bedroom with two single beds, and a bathroom with shower. The bathroom has been just refurbished, but the kitchen is refreshed vintage, made to last.
GUEST ACCESS:
The guests have access to their apartment and terrace, the parking for guests and the upper garden.
This part of Budva is on a hill, so it has great vistas and a special microclimate with a pleasant breeze. It also means that moving on foot will be easy towards the sea and the Old Town, but the return demands more effort (my little niece has been walking back and forth to the beach regularly since she was 3 yr old, as well as her mother pushing a stroller with the other baby).
Luckily, there are (at least) three ways to reach the house, so you can choose the inclination, or opt for the car or taxi if you are too tired or it's too hot. Remember that Budva is still a really small city, almost completely within the circle with a diameter of 2 km.
Keep in mind also that the rapid urbanization of Budva has not been followed by an appropriate infrastructure and public space development, so the eastern (pedestrian) access to the house is not newly asphalted, streets can get crowded and the walks are not as scenic as they were once upon the time.
NEIGHBOURHOOD OVERVIEW:
Situated in a small multifamily building with its own garden and private parking, the flat is in the most peaceful part of Budva called Lazi. Lazi, pl. means assarts, or cleared forest land, and it certainly denotes what we first met here: beautiful terraced fields, supported by dry stone walls. Ours was the best field in Lazi, with old fig trees for shade, and there was a forest behind our house. Going to the west and the Monastery, there still is an old olive grove, but the neighborhood, planned once to become a climatic health resort and green residential oasis, now features many multifamily buildings erected in the past twenty years.
GETTING AROUND:
We are located in Budva, the metropolis of Montenegrin tourism. It is most accessible from the airports of Tivat (TIV, 20 km), Podgorica (TGD, 40 km) and Dubrovnik (DBV, 100 km). Budva has railway connections with Europe through the Belgrade - Bar rail line. The nearest railway stations are Sutomore (35 km), Bar (40 km) and Podgorica (65 km).
The house is just 10-15' walk from the main bus station, and it takes about 15' to walk to the closest beaches (1.3 km) and 20-30' to the city center (2.0 km) and the Old Town (2.3 km). Free parking is available on the premises. Alternatively, there is cheap taxi service in the town. High season rates are these: on call 0.00 or 1.00€/start + 1.00€/km; stopped in street 1.00/start + 1.8/km - check it before the ride and be sure the taximeter is on.
This place is an ideal base for motorized guests to explore Budva Riviera. From here, you can visit easily more than twenty beaches - Slovenska (1.3 km), Guvance (1.8 km), Bečići (2.4 km), Mogren (2.8 km) etc. within the walking distance, and Jaz (4 km), Kamenovo, Pržno, Miločer, Sveti Stefan (6 km) and other by car. Close by are the towns of Tivat, Kotor, Perast and Petrovac, and the monasteries in between (one, Maine, in the closest neighbourhood). For a daily trip, you may decide to go to Herceg Novi and Dubrovnik to west, and Skadar Lake, Ulcinj and Ada Bojana to east.
INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:
Someone of the family will be on the premises during your stay. We stay on the lower ground floor, with private entrance and garden. This will give you privacy, and at the same time the welcoming, advice and company if you wish them, and help if you need anything. Needless to say, we are always available through this system, by email or phone.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
The flat is on the upper ground floor and there is one flight of exterior stairs till the door.
The fence on the house has horizontal bars, which makes it unsafe for small children.
If you are more than four people, feel free to ask - another apartment in the same house might be available.
According to the Montenegrin laws, the tourist tax (1,00 euro per person per night) is obligatory and must be paid personally within 24h from arrival in any town tourist info office, using the data provided in your itinerary for the registration.
