The experience was excellent at Aleska. One thing people might be deterred from is No Wifi or cell connection. However, this place has tons of books, games, movies, foosball, fire-it, and a hot tub to relax in. It was good to disconnect from everything and connect as a family. GSMNP is right down the road, and very good hikes are just a short distance away. The views were gorgeous this early spring. I would give everything a 5 star, but the only two things that need to be mentioned are that it may be time to clean under things, and the loft needs a light in the lamp, a light in the nook, and one bulb in the above fixture. It was pretty dark in the loft area without lighting. Those are just minor details; the rest was fabulous, and those things did not keep us from enjoying ourselves. It's a great place, a great location if you like to be away fromr the tourists, great hikes and scenery nearby, and don't be scared of the driveway like others have stated. If you choose a cabin in Wears Valley that is up a hill, the drive will always be with hills and curves. Many driveways are very tricky to handle; this driveway, although it is best to back in, is wide and long and puts you away from the road.
