My girlfriend and I wanted to spend Christmas in a quiet setting. Marilyn gave us just that! We spent time in visiting Virginia (Abingdon winery and the tavern are a must) and North Carolina. We walked trails behind the house for a quiet hiking experience. She accommodated us to a T and offered quick responses to questions we had. She would email to check in and ensure everything was going well. Definitely will be going back to stay sometime in the summer for a new seasons experience.
Beautiful peaceful getaway
Cozy cabin in a barn loft overlooking a horse farm. This is a beautiful cabin and location right next to a rapidly flowing creek and Cherokee National Forest. We were able to get back to nature on the hiking trails and the view overlooking the horse farm and mountains is spectacular. I love this place!
If you enjoy peace and quiet and the sound of a babbling creek, this is the place. It is conveniently located to the Creeper trail and Boone. It has everything you need for a perfect stay. The owner is very accommodating. We would highly recommend this gem for a great getaway and adventure.
Beautiful place! Clean, inviting and very cozy. Will be back.!
Beautiful & Relaxing!
We had an amazing stay. The rustic barn loft was everything you could want if you're looking for a quiet place at an absolutely lovely location. We were free to roam around this beautiful horse farm and there were plenty of trails attached to the property for hiking. The perfect place for two people just looking for a quiet getaway and looking to enjoy nature. And the horses were beautiful. Marilyn was very friendly and oh so helpful. She has provided all the little touches to make you feel right at home and comfortable. Everything was also very clean. We are definitely planning to return for another stay!
A beautiful restoration!
Would certainly consider staying there again!
See our website. www.gentrycreek.com for complete directions.
If you are coming from the VA. side your GPS will work fine but from the TN direction, some will have you turn before reaching GENTRY CREEK RODE. This will take you down a long dirt road! Stay on 91 untill you see the A to Z market on left, then go RIGHT ON GENTRY CREEK RD. Go to the 3 way and go Right then we are the LAST driveway on G the LEFT before the pavement ends. If you miss the drive, you go into the Cherokee National Forest on a dirt road. GPS work good but dont always say: "you've reached your destination". Again, We are the LAST driveway on the LEFT, before the pavement ends. Your CELL PHONES will not work out here!! You will have internet and can always use my phone in the main house in case of an emergency. NOTE: IF you arrive late at night or just arrive and don't find anyone around, PLEASE feel free to go into the cabin. It is on your RIGHT after crossing the bridge. Park near the stairs that lead up to the front door. It helps if I know an approximate time of arrival but I cannot always be here so please make yourself at home! I will leave it unlocked with the key inside.
Additional information about rental rates
