My family and I recently travelled form around the world to stay at Uppermoor Farm for our parents Golden Wedding celebration. Our ages ranged from 9 months to 87. The pre arrangements, booking and welcome information were excellent. We were met on the day of arrival and shown around the wonderful accomodation and facilties as well as being provided with lots of really useful local information and the most delicious homemade cakes!! The accomodation is outstanding and set in the most beautiful loctaion. The facilities and level of comfort are excellent and the layout of the accomodation worked really well both for my disabled parents as well as for those of us with very young children. We have stayed in lots of different self catering accomodation over the years but this was by far the best.
We would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Thank-You again Jan!

From our initial contact with the owner, Jan, the administration of the booking, arrival and departure was friendly, uncomplicated and seamless.
Uppermoor Farm surpassed our expectations in every single respect from the luxurious, excellent quality linens and bedding to the fabulously equipped kitchens and facilities. On arrival the accommodations were absolutely spotlessly clean, an Afternoon Tea was ready to deliver in the Farmhouse Kitchen with 2 enormous home made chocolate cakes and we immediately lost the children to the gardens and woods. Jan (owner) had even taken in our .com grocery order, which had arrived early, and put everything away in the fridges/freezer (Thank You x) The Main Farmhouse was absolutely perfect for our large group gathering particularly because Jan has had the forethought to ensure that there is enough of everything in this building to serve the entire group of 24 without having to move cutlery and crockery over from the other cottages.
We occupied exclusively all accommodations between our 6 families of 12 adults and 12 children (ages 4 - 11). Each house/cottage is beautifully furnished, well equipped and wonderfully comfortable. Outside is a super safe place for the children to ride their bikes, climb trees and build dens in the woods. Parwich was an achievable 2.5 mile 1 hour walk over the fields to the Pub where we rewarded ourselves with a pint and the children with chocolate treats as the pub doubles as the village shop.
The Tissington Trail runs parallel to the A515 and provided a very pleasant (and again, achievable for the children) slightly down hill all the way 7.5 mile cycle to Fenny Bentley where we had a delicious Sunday Lunch at The Coach and Horses. (Although local knowledge would now lend us to think that The Bentley Brook Inn may have been more suitable as it has an outside play area.) Be warned - although the return journey uphill gradient, for the best part of the way, was slight, it was still 7.5 miles uphill home which smaller children may struggle with.
In all, our stay in the Peak District was a resounding success made so much more possible because Uppermoor Farm provided us all with everything we could have ever wished for in a holiday accommodation and more! We will definitely come back as either the same group, a smaller group and/or even individual families.
Cannot recommend highly enough and we consider ourselves somewhat hard to please!!!!
Rebecca Taylor +23 very happy customers!
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our parent's golden wedding. Amazing location, stunning and luxurious property and a warm welcome which included delicious chocolate cakes! Perfect.
From the minute we arrived at the farm and met jan we were very impressed and made to feel extremely welcome.
The house and the views are stunning, it has every home comfort you could possibly need and every room was immaculate!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone, we had a truly fab time!
The Uppermoor farm is every bit as good as the website would lead you to believe. The facilities are excellent and the the location is stunning.
Over the years we have stayed in a number of holiday cottages and this one was one of the best. The cottages are designed and finished to a very high standard and give you a great base to visit the rest of the Peak District.
The owners make you very welcome and provided us with some fantastic cakes as a welcoming present.
We recently spent a fantastic weekend at Uppermoor Farm Retreats celebrating a 30th birthday, we found them spotless, well equipped and excellant pre-arrival and arrival information, made to feel really welcome. All the bedrooms were beautifully presented and extremely comfortable. The cakes on arrival were great and well enjoyed. Beautiful scenery surrounds the cottages and very relaxing. Was absolutely perfect for our purpose and would love to visit again, can highly recommend a visit!
We stayed at Uppermoore farm and cottages for the Bank holiday, it truly is 5* with super comfy beds, some 4 poster!! Beautiful furniture and superb fixture and fittings. Very clean with an American fridge freezer and even a farmhouse range to cook on. Plenty of room to eat and gather in the farmhouse. Magnificent views of the surrounding Peak District, it was great to have it all to ourselves, so peaceful. Lots of lovely walks and bike rides. A night off from cooking led us to The Royal Oak pub where the food was delicious and good size portions! We shall definitely return."
