Experience charming, picturesque Bailey Island a Maine Casco Bay Coastal Island destination for vacationers from all over the world for over 100 years. Because Bailey Island is now connected to the mainland by the World's only existing Cribstone Bridge, it is no longer necessary to take a ferry to visit. 2013 built large 5 king bedroom Ocean House with incredible panoramic views in all directions with back of House located less than 50 feet from Merriconeag Sound on West Side and front of House less than 50 feet from Garrison Cove on East Side of Oceanfront House. Every room has incredible long distance oceanfront views. The view from the front of our property was recently listed in the 60 Year Anniversary Edition of Downeast Magazine as one of the best views in Maine. The House is surrounded by so much water and ocean scenery, you will feel like you are cruising on a boat. See beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the large windows and decks on East, West and North sides of the House. House is in the middle of Lobster Land. Garrison Cove is a working lobster harbor with several lobster boats moored and a working lobster dock in front of the House. Walk 200 yards to famous Cook's Lobster Restaurant and Lobster Pound and eat lobsters at the Restaurant or buy precooked lobsters at the Pound or live ones and cook them at the House. You won't taste fresher or better lobsters anywhere. The lobsters you eat are caught in the waters surrounding the House on the same day by the lobster boats moored directly in front of the House. If you have your own boat, we have a deep water mooring you can use located in Garrison Cove in front of our property. House has many amenities including 60 inch TV and Surround Sound System and gas log fireplace in living room, WIFI throughout house, and 32 inch TVs in all 5 Bedrooms, 3 of which have private decks. Central air conditioning, screen porch overlooking Sound, and decks on both side of house and huge raised sun deck on edge of Merriconeag Sound. The views around the House, especially Garrison Cove and the Cribstone Bridge, are some of the most photographed scenes on the Maine Coast and extend to Small Point to the East, High Head to the North, Harpswell Neck to the West and Cape Elizabeth to the Southwest. From the House, screen porch and decks, see seals swimming in the Sound, lobster men and women setting and pulling traps, and Casco Bay Lines ferry boats, kayaks, skiffs, sailboats, tuna, fishing and lobster boats cruising by just a stones throw from the shore of the property. Walk on the beach on the front of the House adjacent to Garrison Cove or the shoreline on the deepwater oceanfront side finding shells, crabs, mussels, snails, sea glass, driftwood and other ocean treasures.

Our family gathered at the Flying Lobster House for a week in August. It is a lovely home with spectacular views. The owners were very responsive to any questions or problems. Very nice space for everyone to get together. Only negative was so much traffic going in and out of Cook’s Lobster House on the weekend.
WONDERFUL FAMILY REUNION
We just spent a fabulous week at FLOH. We had five couples, my four brothers and sisters-in-law. We couldn't have picked a better venue for a family reunion. The house was 'as advertised' and was perfect for our group, king-sized beds for each of the five bedrooms. With Jim's guidance, we had just enough group activity to go with pure relaxation at the house watching the lobster boats and the schooner go by. There are nice places to eat within close proximity to the house. The living area in the house is surrounded by windows and has plenty of gathering space and seating. Ideal setup. We'd love to come back. Bill & Sheila
Glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the wonderful review. Hope you can stay with us again.
Wonderful family stay
We have just returned from a great week on Bailey Island. The home is located in a most picturesque point between the bay and the harbor. It is well appointed and there is a wonderful view from EVERY room! We were an extended family of 10 (ages 10-70) and we all enjoyed watching the harbor activity, the boats on the bay, and the stunning sunsets. There was plenty of living space to gather together and a nice large table for meals. The kitchen is well furnished and the long counter space made it easy for all.
The five king bedrooms are all very comfortable (sunrise is quite early at this time of year, so if you are a sensitive sleeper, don't forget your eye mask). So much to do in the area (fishing, golfing, hiking, shopping, sightseeing) and the lobster was so reasonable and oh-so delicious!
It was truly a great stay. It was a very friendly community. We felt very safe and comfortable in every way. We would highly recommend this home and charming location for your next vacation.
Glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your great review.
Wonderful vacation home
The pictures you see here don't do this house justice..... but as we looked back at our photos of Maine, Bailey Island and the Flying Lobster House, we discovered it's truly hard to capture on photo just how magical this place is. The house is lovely, well appointed, simply decorated with amazing views everywhere you look. While hiking the Giant Stairs on Bailey Island, we met a man and asked him how he was doing - he said, "I am happy... I have no choice." That sums up our trip to Bailey Island and being able to stay in this beautiful house was just icing on the cake. We hope to be back!
Great views in a beautiful area! Perfect for a family vacation. We truly enjoyed our time there!
We had lots of lobster and lots of laughs. We had 7 family members and felt comfortable and relaxed in the ocean lobster house. We esp enjoyed the deck and evening sunsets.
Thank you for your wonderful review of the Flying Lobster House. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. You were great guests.
Amazing house! Surrounded by ocean, incredible views from every room!
We loved this place! You could not ask for a better spot! The entire house has panoramic ocean views and you get to see sunrise and sunset. Gorgeous view of cribstone bridge and easy walk two great restaurants, Cook’s and Morse’s. Kitchen is modern and well stocked and open floor plan great for socializing. Outside deck is perfect for sunset happy hours. Nearby hikes at Devil’s back and Giant Steps are beautiful. Would definitely rent this place again!
