About Deborah

While I was living in The Cottage (VRBO 384587) I noticed The Victorian three blocks away was in foreclosure. I love old houses! After seeing the monumental overhaul it needed, saying a few prayers, and talking to family and friends, I bought it...and was instantly overwhelmed!

First project: Put in a huge deck in back--the beautiful views kept me inspired during the long rehab. And now it's all finished and worth every bit of the TLC it required. Hopefully it blesses my guests as well!

Deborah purchased this house in 2007

Guestbook comments from the owner

Great for large groups

  • 5 of 5

We were 10 family members traveling from 3 different states meeting up for some family time and a visit to the Ark Encounter. The house was set up so that we could enjoy lots of together time while still having some privacy when needed. We especially loved the back deck with all the seating and picnic table. The kids loved seeing all the activity on the river! The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were all comfortable.

A trip back in time

  • 5 of 5

We had a great visit to Kentucky and a lovely stay at the Victorian. We visited the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. The house was comfortable for all of our family of 13 with room to spare. My younger sons loved sleeping on the mattress in the laundry room of the up stairs bedroom. The town of Petersburg was charming. We were able to walk to church on Sunday (Petersburg Christian Church) and received a warm welcome there. We took walks daily and the streets were refreshingly free of traffic. The children enjoyed the Community Center and the Petersburg folks were kind enough to share their basketball daily with my boys. We would also recommend the Petersburg Pantry for one of the best burgers we have eaten in a long time. We also had a nice dinner at the Riverside Floating Restaurant and Bar in Indiana. In addition, we walked on the Dearborn Trails (Aurora - Lawrenceburg - Greendale); if you have extra time in the area, it was a really cool trail and bikes can be rented for a small fee. We have a great trip, we would come again if for no other reason than to take a walk back in time!

Wonderful program! Just discovered VRBO a few months ago and have stayed at 2 properties-Love it!

We loved the Victorian Home! Highly recommend this house for a large family or group. We took our sons and their families and our 9 grandchildren had such a wonderful time.

Lots of barges to watch from the deck or the upstairs sunroom and they loved the little town! Went to the park and baseball field several times and got to ride scooters everywhere. So many wonderful memories! Having 2 kitchens was nice too! Thanks Deborah, for sharing your home with us!!!

Beautiful, Clean, Spacious and convenient for visiting Creation Museum and Ark Encounter

Would love to return to the Victorian for our next visit to Kentucky. It was entertaining watching the barges going down the Ohio River. Appreciated Wanda’s help as our schedule needed readjusted a couple times prior to our visit.

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

A ladies group from our church spent two nights here this weekend and we were very pleased with this home. It was very comfortable with everything that we needed for our stay. It had a beautiful view of the river and was so close to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. Thank you for a lovely retreat!
